  1. Isn't it the canal river trust that maintains the canal and river networks in the UK, the ones who budget is being slashed from next year?
  2. It's not a pot, the tax payers of today pay for the pensioners of today, you paid for the pensioners of your day. The promise of the triple lock is to win older voters, plain and simple. To do that while raising the age for others to retire, while life expectancy is pretty much static (lower in areas of social deprivation and poverty.......) is wrong on so many levels and just sticks another division in, culture wars 2, old V's young.
  3. Spurs made between £95m and £130m last season from match day revenue, you have away and home fans, the games changing.
  4. They are both perfect examples of why we have to push on. As for match day revenue, Spurs made £107m last year alone. 13% includes clubs like us who are pulling the figures down. If you really believe that the likes of Spurs , Arsenal have built grounds for the sake of it then I'm afraid I won't be able to convince you of the need for the club to move on, I just hope our owners are in it for our long term future and not just chapters in a history book.
  5. While you see the history of our great club you're not looking at the future that builds history for tomorrow fans to jump on board. If we are not successful financially then we won't have the money to compete and the fans won't come and the decline has set in. The next 5 years set the tone for the next 40. We won't rebuild villa Park, it will stop our current progress on the pitch, that's obviously the most pressing concern, and it won't reap many rewards from a commercial point of view. Its in a run down area that has no chance of regeneration and is constrained geographically. Who would want to spend a night in Witton or an afternoon before the match?
  6. No-one did well, maybe Bellingham had a decent game but other than that nothing, Foden was well out of the game, Gallagher and Rice were covering the same role. Chillwell was hopeless and McQuire was very lucky Brazil aren't that lethal. Gordon gave it go with no end product or a quality ball into the box. Our best chances came at corners and free kicks. To expect Ollie, or any striker to create or score in those circumstances is unrealistic. Ollies a confidence player at he's not going to build his confidence playing for England atm. We look a busted flush and won't get far in the Euros.
  7. Parking, international train station, airport, hs2 terminal, arena, entertainment center, hotels and 2 motorways one, with direct access. Land available.......
  8. Not direct from anyone at the club that makes those types of decisions, theres only 2 or 3 that do. I do understand the constraints of villa Park, the ambition of our owners and the availability of a site that would solve our problem and help others solve theirs.
  9. Maybe but it's not the fans that are responsible for generating the income to make us successful or sustain our recent success. Football is about money, without it we will lose ground on our competitors and fade as they grow. Waiting for Birmingham to sort it's transport infrastructure out isn't going to be quick enough for us. We need move to an area of the city where the infrastructure is already there. Anyone that knows Birmingham well knows where that is......
  10. It's the area tbh, getting 40-60k fans into an area and then not maximising their spending potential isn't good business, hotels, Resteraunts, bowling alleys, cinemas, concert venues good transport systems is what we need. Highbury was a grand old stadium that had to go, Hillsborough was as well but time waits for nothing and once we have established ourselves as a top 6 team we need to be able to maximise the revenue. We have to move from a business point of to be able to compete at that level, it's that simple.
  11. How about Bellingham and kane, saka grealish, foden, rice. These players aren't ordinary by any stretch of the imagination and would get in most of the top teams. Southgate has performed well because of the squad not because he has a system.

  13. Electronic scales, zero with your mixing container on and then add the quantities you need, change from grams to ml oz lbs with the push of a button. It's make cooking so much easier. For cooking meat a thermometer is another major benefit at very little cost. Perfect beef every time and chicken as well, not cooked to a dry wood like material for the fear of salmonella.
  14. Even when we do start well against good teams, or teams with good coaches, they see how we are playing and change their formation to counter us, Southgate and Holland scratch their heads change nothing and we go on to lose those games. We have all witnessed with Emery how quick a good coach can influence players after being led by a crap one. These England players deserve better coaching not a glorified youth coach who's a nice guy.
  15. The FA are crap at picking managers and Southgate is crap at picking coaches, Holland. Gareth was never going to be good enough but I fear the fa will just pick another crap manager. Sad that the last decent manager we had was remembered yesterday at a game that was so far away from the type of football he liked to play and we should be playing, Venables, RIP, if only Southgate would have scored that penalty.....
  16. BBC mentioned ollies miss, they obviously never watched the game as it was clearly a blocked shot as picked up by all the commentary teams (eventually) . How do these BBC reporters keep their jobs, hopeless. Can't help but miss the swash buckling influence Greaslish used to have on these type of games, we have such a good squad of players it's criminal that Southgate and Holland have managed to win nothing and part of the blame has to go to the press, especially the bbc who appear to comment on a game they don't even watch.
  17. Dunk had a disaster for their goal, he headed the ball straight the their player then ran back and played the runner onside. He's clumsy and straight from the school of McQuire with none of the upsides of his game.
  18. Yep bang on...... full international and Bellingham could easily got a straight red for his sliding challenge, silly.
  19. I watched them a fair bit as well and came to same conclusion, at times he was by far the best player on the pitch but could drift in and out of games which is kinda typical of a younger player.
  20. Played first half, not in the game tbh, not finding space but doing the simple things OK. 6 out 10 for me.bur Belgium aren't playing well so that don't help.
  21. Starting as captain for Belgium against Ireland, make it a more interesting watch.

You probably right.... having 2 aircraft carriers floating around while children are starving in many parts of our country , especially Birmingham, is madness. You can add the fact that the cut in national insurance could have been and should have been directed towards feeding starving children (or the NHS, which was the original plan from the tories until the madman took over). I have watched this country slowly declining year after year since the early 80's, its a massive mess that needs sorting unless we want to become a poor country with imaginary visions of glory built on past military glory. I have travelled around the country visiting once great towns and cities that have since become empty abandoned shells of despair and poverty, good God its a right mess.
