A reason why people need to get out of the mindset that every player in means someone is on their way out of being demoted. It's very much a squad game for us now where you're wanting that switch to seemless. Made me laugh people thinking Pau signing meant Mings was on his way out.

Emery knows what he can do at CB, pre-season is the time to see if he can cut it as a wider CB. No harm in trying things.

Do the Villa shirts have an electric blanket weaved into them or something? Valencia shirts seem fine.

Is the material that horrible? The Valencia players' Puma shirts look fine on them, not sopping whilst the Villa players (including Torres etc) are absolutely dripping and drenched. Hopefully these shirts don't de-hydrate our players compared to the opposition.

I don't want to seem like I'm de-valuing our cups but I would pick the CL qualification because I think it would help us attract better players than a cup win would. I think it would set us up for more longer term success and trophies. I completely get the other view too though.

I really like that Luis Miguel Echegaray. I don't think I've ever seen anything he's said that I've disagreed with.

The placement was in the corner, a bit more pace on it? Yeah, sure, but that doesn't make it a poor penalty. Leno goes the other way and nobody is saying a thing. A poor penalty is at knee/waist height so the keeper doesn't have to get down quickly.
