  1. Smith-Rowe is quality. He's not getting in over Martinelli/Odegaard/Saka though, plus Trossard.
  2. Did they get the Kamara one from DH Gate?

    Keinan Davis

Swansea would make sense since they're selling Piroe. Surprised he's staying in the Championship.
  4. 2 really productive performances from him. The concern is that teams most weeks won't allow him the sort of space he's been given and he's picked up 3 bookings in 3 games already. If he stays, I'll be happy, if he leaves and is replaced sufficiently and also allows us to strengthen elsewhere on the pitch. I'll be happy. I think we're in a strong position either way.
  5. People won't dare park in electric car parking space in their petrol/diesel but are happy to park in a family parking space without a child with them. Cnuts.
  6. If we end up paying the full £52m then we're and he's going to be in an awesome place.
  7. In Unai's post match interview with the beeb, he praises him for his on the ball ability and recognises that he's weaker in terms of physicality and "duels". He stated that they're working on this side of his game to adapt to the Premier League and make him a more complete defender. Be patient with him, he's still class now but I have no doubt over the next few months he'll be stronger again. He's technically very good, they can add more muscle to him and have him duking it out with Duran and Ollie in training. He will adapt and thrive.
  8. Absolutely stunning the change in the player from a year ago. He's playing the best football of his life. He's doing everything right, not blowing out of his arse early, quality going forwards and grafting defensively. Emery has truly elevated his game but at the same time, it's not possible without the application of the player himself. Huge, huge respect, John because I will hold my hands up and thought you were done, peaked and on your way down last season under Gerrard. He really is an elite player.
  9. Even if it's not serious in terms of months out, more weeks, just use a stretcher as to not put any unnecessary strain on a player that is obviously going to be subbed. You've obviously got to be really smart to be a doctor but sometimes common sense seems to evade the smartest of people.
  10. A chance for the players to redeem themselves. We know they're more than capable. Repay Unai's faith.
  11. I get Zlatan crossed with Messi and Arnautovic vibes. That'll do.
  12. Just finished. Could have been about 10-10
  13. I'm not sure if this has been mentioned, it's been a long time since I've been in this thread/watched a film but I've just finished Corner Office, starring the great Jon Hamm. A low budget black comedy that had kept me engrossed, charmed and saddened in equal measure. Not for everyone but it will be one of those films that really hits the spot for some.
  14. Good. Wednesday is my day off. I can start drinking from 9am. My 1 year old can look after me and wipe my arse for a change.
  15. I had to Google Lewis Hall. I'm a bit out of touch but damn. £28m whilst some are squirming over £30 odd mil for Pau?
  16. Nice have a good bit of money behind them now I thought?
  17. I'm a bit out of the loop here but wtf is Espen? Is it Villa Report with a posh pinky finger?
  18. Hopefully we can get this deal done. I'm a big flan of his.
  19. I don't think he's all about the money, that said, if it's about game time and playing consistently that makes him happy then he will get it with this sort of move. If he doesn't move on then fingers crossed his niggling injuries are behind him and we see the sort of player we saw during the loan time. I'm sure he's just as frustrated as we are.
  20. I don't like it when you're the voice of reason!
  21. Is that €15-20m or £15-20m? It makes a decent difference and that's assuming that it's accurate. Plus just Acuna fitting into how we want to play better than Digne is a value itself that can't quite be put into monetary terms.
  22. Yeah, and of course, sometimes you just can't tell if/when something can hit again. Mings looked a huge fee given his serious injuries but then went on barely miss a game for us. It just adds to why the loan makes sense. He gets to prove himself or if the injuries strike then we haven't fully lost out. It's a gamble but we've given ourselves better odds and if it comes good, we've potentially got a CL level footballer for a fee of that of a top end Championship signing.
  23. He's satisfactory as a player to us but on his wages and how he fits into the style of play we want, it's absolutely time to cash in and replace with Acuna or someone else who fits with our style for much cheaper. £10-15m fee and his wages off the books would be great. No hard feelings, like with Ings, cash in whilst we can.
  24. The thing is, Everton have signed Harrison when he's still out for a month or so. We signed Downing with a broken foot if I remember correctly, so I assume they are still put through as many paces as possible. I don't know how they grade a pass/fail but would like to think our medical staff will spot anything overly concerning.
