  1. Sorry guys but do we have any decent prospects or are we just picking at straws as try as I may its all gone very quite on the transfer front?
  2. So is there anybody on the radar before this transfer window closes or what?
  3. I've no doubt that our youngsters have bags of talent but what they lack is physical prowess, take Barry Bannon for example, the lad is undoubtedly a good little footballer but has little or no physical presence which is what's needed in abundance in this league, they simply get bullied off the park week in week out which is one of the main reasons we're in this position. I don't think we have one player at present that can take a game by the scruff of the neck and lead by by example.
  4. -Hmm.!! Yorke going the Judas route, the day I hated Manure "fans" even more, if that's even possible. -Enkelman's shambles against the noses and their double against us. -The team with the worst record against Manure in the Premier League. -Being so close under Gregory and completely capitulating (utter frustration). -Nearly signing Juninho. -Barrygate. -MON & Milner jumping ship in the same week. -AmcL speculation up to him signing as manager.
  5. I'm all for selling Dunne but we'll need a direct replacement, it's well and good getting a high earner off the books but the last thing an already small squad needs is to be further reduced in size, I still felt we needed at least 3 more quality signings and that's was even before the Dunne proposed transfer.
  6. I often wondered about this actually and watched a program similar to this a few years ago on the BBC I think it was as to why there are so no Asian footballers playing in the professional leagues and they concluded that even though a lot of Asian footballers where in many cases quite technically gifted they simply didn't posses the physical attributes to make it in the professional leagues, in other words in the opinion of the various clubs that trials had been arranged for them they weren't physically strong enough . This is not my opinion but the findings of the programme also that the Asian community have no direct role models that they can aspire to due to this.
  7. Two world class keepers imho regardless of how you look at it and happy with both of them but I'd say Given just about pips it but not by much, shame he never had Laursen in front of him.
  8. I couldn't agree more, without a shadow of a doubt, the dippers level of expectation is far too high as we all know, they genuinely still believe their a title challenging side, the kind of pressure that comes with that post reminds me of the England job, failure is inevitable.
  9. This is pretty much what I thought when I first heard the rumour. Then I actually WATCHED the video...Then I read this thread with posts written by Norwegians and other followers of OGS's career, which were universally complimentary of him...Then I had a look at what people were saying in Norway about him...Then I read what OGS himself said about Aston Villa...And by then I'd changed my mind completely. This is NOT "Some muppet" we're talking about here. This is a man who inspires almost unanimous admiration wherever he goes and whatever he does in football, a man referred to by some in Norway as a "national treasure". If Aston Villa is ever going to inspire anybody ever again, we need to be taking a chance on somebody before the CL clubs come calling. The person to take a chance on is somebody with impeccable football pedigree, likeable personality, winning record, knowledge of the transfer market, and perhaps most importantly, ability to read a game of football from the touchline. OGS is exactly this man, imo. Amen to that.
  10. OGS for me, I've been watching some of his coaching vids and he's all about attack attack attack.. Exciting stuff.
