    Whilst 4th now sort of in our hands I’d still like to see the following : City through, Bayern through, Atletico through and Villa through. City then beat Bayern and we win our semi. That gives 5th place just in case right ?

    I see Palmers overtaken Ollie now for goals and one behind for assists. what a season that lads having. Both of them are musts for Euros.

    To be fair his 5 million a year pay rise probably softens the blow too.

    Did they set this goal? I think that was the doc. Championship to Champions League in 5 years during the times of FFP would be incredible.

    A few indifferent games and misses a game we win and he’s no longer that good Dougie is class and will be massive for us in the final few games. He definitely needed that rest though.

    Yeh quite surprised how humble in defeat they have been. Feels out of character.

    A break and then 6 games in 21 days. It’s not ideal for them in my opinion. Going 2 weeks without a game isn’t always a good thing.

    Liverpool aside could we be playing all of these teams where they have nothing left to play for? I get that doesn’t always work in a teams favour as the pressure is off but it’s an interesting one compared to Spurs who seem to playing teams with everything to play for. (Apart from Sheffield United and Chelsea).

    Yep I thought we’d get smashed too. This is football and why we can’t expect to just turn up next week either. So much can still happen. But what a great position to be in.

    Until we fail to beat Bournemouth But seriously though any bed wetting was uncalled for. Villa have never gone 3 games without a win all season. They have dropped the least points from winning positions. They have taken 9 points off the top 3 teams in the league. They are 4th in the league. Villa are a bloody good team mate.

    I was most impressed by his pace to recover. Didn’t realise how quick he was. He’s been ridiculously unlucky with injuries since he joined us so we’ve never really seen how good he was but hopefully that performance gives an indication of it and he can continue playing same way. Our biggest results this season have come with that back 4.

    It’s Leon Bailey in 20 years time on his left. Respect to Robbie for his honesty there. No sour grapes.

    I never thought he would become this good in terms of his numbers (assists and goals) but I was always confident he would eventually beat Gabbys record if he stuck around. It used to wind me up when fans wanted us to sell him.

    Spurs have got very tough remaining fixtures and am I right in saying they will have to play them in a very short space of time as they keep having to rearrange games due to cups? How unfortunate for them.

    I said last week I didn’t think there would be many if any good performances from now until the end of the season and it’s more about grinding out results. Players seemed jaded. Goes to show what I know! What a lift this will give the squad to go and finish the season on a high.

    Has this price gone down or is it because the club paid a large loan fee ? He played very well today but I still don’t think we will sign him.

    True but I don’t think he will be anyway. Get to Champs League we don’t need to sell anyone unless it’s silly money.

    Meant to post this here. Check this stat out. 21 times Villa have taken the lead this season in a game. 19 wins. 1 draw and 1 defeat. No team has dropped less points from a leading position.
