  1. He needs to do that in the Premier League consistently, only then can we say he was worth the money. One swallow and all that. If Bailey can produce the goods on a regular occurrence, then so should Diaby be able too. Let's hope tonight's goal provides the self - belief he has so clearly been short of.
  2. Fernerbache next. Remember you heard it here first. Them Captain Kirks will give us a game.
  3. Nice to see us find the rhythm that make us look likely to score every time we go forward. I gave Torres motm, the conductor who sets the rhythm. It's like poetry in motion when he plays like that. Duran looking like he will never score a tap - in. Love his character, already a darling of the VP crowd. Moreno and Luiz also deserve a mention has does big Carlos. Leon, as skilful as Mark Walters, but a lot faster and more deadly in front of goal. The only concern is Ollie, however, the season has been full of adversity, so we should be at the point where we're impervious to it. Get in there, my Babbys!
  4. Ollie!! Every silver - lining has a cloud, especially as far as Villa are concerned. What a header though, indicative of how his game had developed under Unai and the coaching staff.
  5. Always found the idea of a single man living with cats slightly odd. I just can't take to them, but the thought of anyone being cruel to one is abominable.
  6. Konsa should be in that defence, definitely ahead of HM.
  7. I've never been convinced about his talents, tbh. He's not a bad player by any stretch, but nothing stands out about him in the way a Bryan Robson or a Steve McMahon did, not for me anyway.
  8. More like no intention of playing for the useless manager and his coaches.
  9. Jordan Henderson, that selection is baffling. As he ever had a great game for England, I'm sure he has, but I can't recall the performance. I can't wait till Southgate departs, all that talent at his disposal, and nothing but fear first football.
  10. My last one for the night. I remember having the 45 single Stevie Wonder version of this song. However, this performance live by Jodeci took it to another level. The vocals of the two brothers, Jo Jo and K - Ci Haley are just stunning, you can definitely hear the similarities between K- Ci and Bobby Womack who was his uncle.
  11. This thread wouldn't be right without a Willie Nelson performance.
  12. Sorry, Brother. I should have remembered from the documentary. Great doc, by the way, sad too.
  13. I'll take the Roy Orbison version every day of the week. Although, I do love Vincent.
  14. Written by the immortal Gary Moore and performed to absolute perfection by the once irrepressible Phil Lynott. Incidentally, it's amazing to think that Brian Robertson was only 19 when playing that solo, just genius.
  15. I think we'll edge this 2morrow. 2 - 1 or 1 - 0, either result will do and then press the repeat button for Sunday. Come on me babbys!
  16. Told you, I didn't put nothing on it and it ran like a beauty.
  17. Put a few bob on Villaness in the 13 .50 Hungton, for obvious reasons. Ballydam in the 14 . 50 Chtham, and I've gone for Family Pot in the 13 . 10, Hungton. Also had a lucky 15 with horses at long odds, Mark Of Gold, Family Pot ( when he was 16/1), Generous Day, Dancing On My Own. I'll be very lucky to get one of them but I suppose that's why it's called what it is. Fingers crossed!
  18. We should have tried to do it the way we beat Arsenal, early momentum, the crowd behind us, a quick goal and then pull the shutters down. I'm firmly behind the manager but that doesn't mean he's averse to criticism, especially when it seems there's some justification to it. I alluded to how we sometimes can let teams find their feet in games, that's not how we managed to win all those games at VP. There was a reason for McGinn,s anger, and to me, it seemed borne out of frustration at Spurs being able to pass the ball to a teammate wily - nily. That doesn't excuse his lack of discipline, but it does help, imo, to explain it. I'm still hopeful that we can achieve our aims of at least some silverware and 4th or 5th, but we need to regain the self - belief that has enabled us to have those aims, especially at VP.
  19. "De plane"! "De plane"!
