  1. Seems Man City are signing Kevin De Bruyne as well as Delph. I know he is a different kind of player than Delph but with the players they have Delph may not make the bench at this rate!!! Edit: Just realised I've said "Delph" way too many times in that post. Apologies.
  2. Still says pending UK visa... maybe announced it early because of all the heat from the Delph news? Edit: WELCOME BTW!
  3. But Benteke is in some photos and he is out till next week.
  4. I'd say it's definitely fake. Delph has an Instagram account where he posts regularly. If this was his Twitter or if he was even on twitter it would be either linked in his Instagram bio or he would share his photo's from there on Twitter. Like some have said, Delph would be (atm) silly to go to City as he wouldn't play too much and we have players to have a word with him about the risks. Also most of the Prem/European clubs would have bid by now if the clause is as low as reported as he is a class player. If other teams are waiting to get their preferred targets then he should (IMO) think, "I don't want to be 3rd/4th choice, I'll stay where I'm respected". It could also be that clubs have bid, we have reluctantly accepted and Delph himself has told them he will not leave this season. That he stands by what he said, wants to remain loyal and see what happens next year. He isn't a stupid person and seems to have his head screwed on. He will know his best chance for Euros is staying with us for another season especially as we seem to be making ambitious moves in the transfer market. Then if we have a good season and he thrives then he will be available to make a big move where he will be more likely to play more of a part than bench warmer. Kind of giving a few perspectives there but just goes to show that anything can happen and we actually know fudge all.
  5. Bandwagon time... "@MirrorFootball: Aston Villa valued at £150m by owner Randy Lerner as Prem's huge new Prem TV deal sparks fresh interest #AVFC http://t.co/McWtrLzBA1"
  6. Bit late but my view... We still looked like Lambert's team for most of the game. I know Sherwood won't change that overnight but I thought we would have played a bit better than we did, at least for the new manager bounce and everyone trying to stake a claim. I also think the tactics we're poor. I understand that he wants us to play more direct and get the ball quicker up the pitch but against Stoke?! Long balls up the pitch to an uninterested out of form striker that is being double marked is stupid and something Stoke probably couldn't believe we kept doing. You could see it wasn't working within the first 20 mins so they should have been told to change it, try and keep it on the floor for Gabby/Sinclair to run into space. I also can't get my head around our inability to beat the first man with corners, totally inept and something that should only happen on occasion. I now truly believe we are doomed. It's too much of an ask for anyone to change the mentally of a group of players that are used to losing and playing terrible football in such a short space of time. Sad thing is, we're probably the most deserving of relegation so far. Gutted does not even come close.
  7. Well then, didn't see that coming! Have TS & KMC worked together before?
  8. Looks good if he is our new CEO. The more money we can make will help improve the quality of the team and (if he is still looking) make us a better prospect to potential buyers/investors.
  9. He is, according to people who know him, as anti villa as "they" get. He'd lose the respect of all of his friends and with Troy Deeney that is more important than his career. Not every footballer is as professional as you'd like to think. If we were his only option or we were offering him champions league football then maybe. But we're not and we can't. Either way, he's too expensive and not good enough. And he hates the club, which is never a good start! Again playing Devil's Advocate, could that also be to do with the fact we release him as a kid? I've heard stories the Joleon Lescott lost his love for Villa, because of the way his brother was treated, while with the club. Don't know how true that is, but I can imagine it might have an impact. It's to do with being from Chelmsley Wood. It's different when you're a kid, playing for any high level youth team is an achievement. In his case he wasn't released because of lack of talent either. I'm from Chelmsley Wood, what's your point? I know his family (met him a few times as well) and some of the generalisations posted in relation to Troy and Chelmsley Wood in general is silly. Chelmsley Wood is a shit hole full of noses. I'm from Acocks Green, a shit hole full of noses. What's YOUR point? I wouldn't say full of noses, I actually think it's pretty even. My point is your post seemed derogatory and not adding value to the conversation/thread. What's being from Chelmsley Wood (or anywhere in fact) got to do with being able to do a job for Villa? Surely it should be based on ability and how they are playing?

  11. Looking at Danny Batth? I'd be very surprised if we signed this guy. He looked solid, and I reckon he'll go for money eventually, but we currently have 5CB's, 6 if you count Herd, and it seems like a position we just don't need to strengthen in. What's more, Batth is only tested at League 1 level, which would go against everything we've been doing in signing experience this window. Very true and I agree but not all our signings need to be experienced. If the opportunity arised I'm sure a young (ish) player would be signed. We needed more experience not a total overhaul of it.
  12. Anyone think that if we get taken over by an American that they will have our kits made by an American sports label like Liverpool have with Worrior? We could go with Under Armour for instance. I've recently done Tough Mudder and they havery a thing with Under Armour and the stuff they make is nice quality. Spurs have them as their kit manufacturer and they may be looking to expand in the UK.
  13. Very uninspiring but a very real indication of where we are as a club right now.
  14. No idea, but I think his associates and possible backing would be good to look into.
  15. Don't think he would be interested in a collaboration...
  16. Twitter stuff.... "@PadsinPrimary: Oracle are developing a new app apparently aimed at Aston Villa Football Club. Interesting #avfc #ipad #oracle #appdevelopment" Could just be AVFC upgrading their app, nothing it it but thought I'd share.
  17. Why not? Doesn't seem too far fetched that he might be interested. With the extremely close ties to the Lerner's in my opinion it would be a safe bet. What ties? Feel like I've missed something here Rich is chairman of the Cleveland clinic, Lerner's father is an ex chairman, his mother is currently on board with Rich. Lerner's have pumped a lot of money into Cleveland clinic and have a research facility & school there named after them. Reading the above a thought popped into my head.... Now I don't believe him/her but didn't Mendi say something about Lerner promising his family to sell to someone? Maybe Mendi just assumed it was Elison but is actually Rich? Just a random thought...
  18. Very coincidental... a little too much if you ask me. Has the jet been to b'ham recently? If not then I could see something in it... interesting.
  19. Mendi explained it all to us. Definitely sold to Ellison, but he's changed his mind, so it might not be him in the end. Lambert was so determined to prove he is the man to take us forward as long as he is given some cash to splash that he went for showdown talks with Randy in order to stop the takeover because he wanted a clause in his contract saying he couldn't be sacked so he quit. (Figure that out!) In other news, Red Bull's name has been thrown around, as well as some American's...and according to another forum Lambert is gone...but he might not be To sum up, we're for sale, and literally nothing else has happened in the last 500 pages There was also some very good puns being dished out...
  20. Some of these rumours just don't cut the mustard.
  21. How about we branch out into condiment ones? Only because I think they are amayonnaising
  22. Why would Lerner not answer his phone if he wants to go! or does not want to go, but pretend to go before not going and triumphly returning like Shummite-tite-tee he is? Maybe Lerner was on the toilet and didn't take his phone with him? HOW DARE HE DO THIS TOO US...
  23. *Spews coffee over keyboard* Coffee at this time of night?! Lucky it isn't a school night!
  24. I'm no doubt in the minority but it wouldn't bother me that much if they changed the crest and colours *if* that came with success. I'd be strongly against it.
