  1. Also looking forward to some of thisJoe Cole - Underrated: http://youtu.be/9Bh-Jf9UeCs
  2. With all the doom mongers insisting that we're going down you'd have to assume that finishing mid table would be a success, yet I wonder how many fans would get off lamberts and the teams back if we did finish half way up? Not many I expect
  3. I'm a big admirer of Cole, I think this signing is a masterstroke
  4. Apparently Keane has pulled out of tv commitments with itv for the world cup, so either the takeover is imminent or its miles off, I can't see Keane upsetting itv for a job that might last a month if the new buyers don't like him
  5. At a time when we are gonna need all our players to perform at their optimum, I think Keane is a bad move, half of the dressing room will hate him within the first week, he's divided opinion since he quit playing
  6. Maybe we're going for martin too? Unlikely I know, just seems really odd that we're being linked with Keane, can't see lambert bossing him around
  7. I don't actually mind the cost of the shirt all that much, but both my kids want the full kit to play in, so I'm looking at about £200 before I've even got my own shirt, the prices of the socks and shorts for juniors is staggering
  8. I think they should alternate the year of release for kits, for example this year you would get a new home shirt which will last 2 seasons, then next year release an away shirt that lasts 2 seasons, that way if you want the latest shirt your at least getting your money's worth, and if your the kind of fan that wants a new shirt every year then you've got that option too
  9. Yep totally agree, my daughters shirt lasted 6 washes which wasn't long as it's practically her second skin
  10. Whatever happened to throwing kids in at the deep end? We shouldn't keep wrapping these young footballers in cotton wool and then wonder where all the promising young talent has gone. I think grealish should be given his chance, he's earned a shot at 1st team football, yes he needs to raise his game a level or two but you can only do that playing against quality teams week in week out, I can appreciate protecting keepers and defenders is a good thing as a bad experience could hamper their development but surely an attacking player needs to be let off the leash. Where would Owen or rooney be had they been sheltered from the 1st team?, I remember rooney playing against us in the youth fa cup final and he looked far from premiership quality and by contrast luke young looked like a worldbeater for us, obviously rooney rose to the challenge and I think grealish would too
  11. It would give away the identity of our new owners maybe? Just being optimistic
  12. Maybe they just fancied pizza for lunch
  13. He's only lost a little of his pace, I've still seen him strip a few quality defenders this season, and he works well with benteke, you all know for a fact that if we sell him he'll start banging the goals in, we should persevere to bring that form out of him
  14. I don't believe a word that Keith Harris says, his lips don't move! Highly untrustworthy behaviour
  15. In the interview that was linked a few pages back cortese says that financially they had no need to sell players as they were in a sound position, he seemed quite prickly about the fact they had let some go and particularly hurt that there were inevitably more players to follow out the door. As for Albrighton it's not too late for a dramatic u turn lol, maybe if lambert is in the know he'll have a word with marc
  16. I like this Cortese dude, like the cut of his jib, and his ears are claret too so he kinda looks the part. I'm a total optimist when it comes to these kind of matters but the thing I don't get about the cortese theory is that he would need somebody to buy the club and then employ him? Have I got that right? I don't think many of our American billionaire friends would know who he is? Would they?
  17. Hope they don't get run over... Sort of
  18. Hello villa fans, my name is Matt and I'm 39 years old as of tomorrow. I have been a villa fan since the age of 8, I don't currently have a season ticket but I take my daughter to matches whenever I have the time and we always follow the team from the safety of the sofa, she is villa mad also and has a trial for the girls team in a few weeks. My other interests are playing guitar in an indie rock band and whooping American butts on call of duty. I was reading the takeover thread and found it hilarious, uplifting and harrowing! Like a good book I just hope it has a great ending and can't wait to get involved in the discussion All the best Matt
