There's no excuse for it. It's cringeworthy on here, let alone elsewhere.
A lot of football fans are just awful human beings, really.
People very often get "criticism" and "abuse" confused.....calling someone a useless **** is not a critique, it's just name-calling.

Find the fascination of signing a player most of you have never seen play a bit funny.
Bet he will struggle massively with his first season in the PL. Would need to get in other proven options as well.
The German league and the Premier League aren't too dissimilar, I think he will surprise you.

Remember to stay humble Villatalk, we have to be realistic in terms of the quality we can attract and the money we can spend per player.
Personally, the gaffer really rates him by his comments last night and his record at brentford seems very strong. Watching the game last night he was one of the hardest working players on the pitch, that attitude is very welcome in our dressing room.
18million seems a snip, guess that's why its a release-clause.

I suspected as much but haven't watched Watford at all apart from the 2 match against Villa. But I think his qualities are exactly what we need otherwise. Plus we don't know how much playing in a relegated team affected his performances.
It's a fair comment, but I wouldn't be spending 40million on anyone that has question marks over his consistency.

I'll be honest, I didn't even notice him until about 4 games post lockdown. That might well be my fault though, I dunno.
This is the chances created stats of players outside "the big 6" (source: twitter)

We will not be buying Chelsea's 22-year old english top scorer this window, the money that would be required would be eye-watering.

He's also on £100k/week at City.
For that kind of money and the transfer fee he would command you could get a proper good player if you know what you are doing.
This type of thinking is needed more in our fanbase, we won't be braking our wage structure without very very good reasons. Our previous approach to wages in the prem almost ended up with us having no club to support.
Is John Stones a very good reason? No.

5 sub rule is here to stay, we need 2x quality wide options brought in at the very least aswell as bolstering our bench options. This season our bench was about as dangerous as a knife made out of melted chocolate.

The bottom five’s combined Premier League record since the restart:
Played 13
Won 0
Drew 3
Lost 10
Scored 4
Conceded 20Is there a argument to be made that we are in-fact the inform team out of the bunch? (2 Draws and 2 goals?)

Before the injury he was having literally zero impact on games. Blowing out of his backside after 5 minutes and just invisible after 10.
He was being over-played, most of VT was calling for him to have a rest and then bam broke his ankle. This squad is still a bit shallow on players like Mcguinn who can control a game, we have missed him immensely over the last 6 months.
edit: just as a follow on pulled up our average player-rating stats from whoscored.com

Pure speculation, but John seems like the type of boy that would have been very focused on getting his fitness up during the lockdown. We haven't actually had the spine of the team play together (Mings/Jack/John) together that much this season, and when we have we've been good....if (IF) John can hit the ground running, then the signs are good

When Davis chested the ball down and played through Trezeguet which could have easily been a goal with better finishing. Is that not a valid contribution to you?
Making space for others because of great hold of play doesn't matter? All that matters is goals?
If Davis can perform like he did against Leicester the players around him will find space and get into great positions. I'm sure Keinan will score some goals too if given a chance.
I never thought i'd agree with a comment from you this much, but here we are.
Bang on, Smith's attacking-patterns and overall system does not rely on a poacher.

He has looked "Razor Sharp" in training apparently, exceeding initial expectations (hence why he started straight away i reckon). Very much looking forward to watching him vs Bournemouth.

He's really not.
Sorry, i normally despise these kinds of compilation videos but couldn't find any running statistics. However, think it does a sufficient job of showing his speed and skill.

He's a whole lot of nothing.
He isn't quick, so he can't play as that winger than drives to the byline.
&
He isn't techincal, so he can't play as a cultured winger cutting in onto his stronger foot. He's likeable as he gives 100% but if we stay up this season (and in fact, if we don't), he will be a squad player.
Sorry mate he is very quick and skillful, what you said just isn't true.
However, his reading of the game, positioning, and final product all need serious work.
There's good potential in the lad.

I’m not too optimistic because 1) I’m a villa fan and therefore not programmed that way and 2) we haven’t exactly had resounding success from the Belgian league.
That being said, I do love the guy. I hope he does well as he will be a massive fan favourite and I’m enjoying having all of Tanzania supporting us.

It's not just about not signing players, we have strikers that could be used, it's alright saying that they're not good enough, but they're better than nothing or playing players out of position. Kodjia should have been training with first team squad this week, with a view to starting tomorrow.
Kodija doesn't want to play and risk his money move to the UAE, it takes two to tango. I get that we all want to see a full and competitive team out for these crucial games, but we have to be realistic.

"He was close to starting on Saturday and we discussed it as a staff but I had to make a decision," said Dyche of Drinkwater.
"He is good around the place, his sharpness is nearly there."You can't get truly sharp without playing, as in real games, but he has certainly put enough energy and effort into performances into the reserve games. He is around the group and he knows the demands of it.
Sounds like his attitude and sharpness isn't as bad as feared, hopefully Danny takes his chance.

Nothing against him but I hope we can sell Kalinic in January.
He'll want minutes to try and get into the Croatia Euro squad and we can't have 4 senior keepers taking up places in the 25 man squad and costing money.
I think we tried to offload him in the summer and were unnsuccesful that time, he won't be here much longer.

You can't say that about Teke, Teke while he hasn't done anything since leaving us could yet come in and be reborn, you just never know how it's going to go.

You could argue that we smashed it for 10 games and everything around that has been mediocre to be fair.
Think that's very harsh, in the championship we were class till Jack got injured, then when he returned we smashed it.....in the Prem it's been a range of factors including getting the new quad up to speed.

Just popped on to say i've listened every week this season, by far my favourite villa podcast of the bunch. Thanks for many hours of listening lads, all excellent insight (and like the fact you often disagree).
