I will never not remain baffled by the levels of hatred and asserted dismissiveness of a player who played about 11 games for us, coming from a foreign country, was always going to take time to get up to speed, and scored 1 in 3 or in those games. He had a couple of good games, some average ones and looked crap in others. I have no idea whether he would havbe made it, maybe not, it's not easy he may still have come up short, but the degree to which some people insist on how shit a player he was, like they cant cope with someone not agreeing with them that Wesley is shit is really quite pathetic and sad.

Are we allowed to think someone is just not really that good or dose this fall under hatred/hate speech? it's a precious world we live in

Unless against Yerry Mina who he bullied

Think that Everton side are responsible for a lot of debate on this forum,

They made 2 fairly controversial players in our side look like balon Dor winners

  3. He was struggling with the physicality of the league big time well before his injury, Was very strange for a man of his size he really didn't like contact, spent a lot of time on the ground

Ming's had Haaland in his pocket in one of our games.

Does this mean Haaland is shit? Or that Ming's performed brilliantly?

People always slant things how they want.

I'd say Ash just had a brilliant, experienced performance that day, Ash has had those types of games against other, more accomplished players as well.

He's also had stinkers against lesser opponents. So it's not as one dimensional as some want to frame.it.

This basically what most of us have said . It was dismissed by one poster and others have weighed in that we believed ash done well that day, nobody has called him rubbish.  Some have said they have doubts about him which is ok. it's a discussion where people give an opinion, no need to get upset about it.

Didn’t Gnonto ease Ash off of him and set up Leeds goal in our 2-1 win? I’ll have to go back and check, but making out that Young pocketed him all game is nonsense imo. That was a good back and forth between them as I remember it. On topic, for anything £20m-£25m I’d be all over it, Unai would take his game to another level.

In fairness that's how I remembered it, the lad got the better of him once and was frustrated as hell leaving the field with a face covered in paint from the pitch.

I've compared him Aaron Connelly before, very direct but not sure he has the end product.

Romano is friends with Pau. His camp is leaking details to him. Don't forget he was helping fuel the contrived drama about Bayern which wasn't going to happen anyways, but he had to word it in a way that added drama. Count the number of tweets and you can guarantee he's milked it for all its worth.

    That you Eniola Aluko?

After watching this would it be fair to compare him to player we got a nice fee off Chelsea from recently ? Maybe bit more attack minded

FM legend. Not sure about him in real life tho - don’t think I’ve ever seen him play!

Liverpool have just spent 115million on their midfield and it's still not as strong or has as much depth as our midfield

    Or Konsa 👀

Truth be told, brilliant old fashioned defender.

However, with the arrival of Pau, will probably the weakest in the areas of progressive passing and pace.

Thing is, remember what Monchi does , is sell players at peak value and get replacements in.

Konsa 25, Carlos 30, would be terrible decision to get rid of Konsa

Mings and Torres are probably our first choice pairing in the short term but Konsa Torres is the future

Really can’t see us signing another CB… why would we? Makes no sense. Far too many nonsensical “links” out there.

If I was going to make up a link to a Serie A player… we need reinforcements in attack… how about someone like Nico Gonzalez? Any good?

Carlos would have to be leaving for this to happen, can't see it either

Torres is a guaranteed starter that’s for sure.

For me, Mings can’t be dropped whatsoever as he’s far too important but Diego Carlos sure won’t be far off him and won’t want another year sitting around. Our strength in the CB positions this season is **** crazy tbh.

From what I've seen of Carlos, he looks great player, but is it crazy to think maybe Unai isn't a fan of his? Gerrard brought him in and looked like he wasn't far off fitness but was reluctant to give him mins

  12. Gonna see a lot less of Kamara and Luiz having to come with back to play to collect the ball, which caused us issues at times last season, suspect Pau will start a lot of play

Who are you going to get better for £10m, at a good age and with loads of PL experience (not to mention settled into the team). Pay up or piss off.

Spot on, his stock went up a lot after that stint in the championship, if they won't pay someone else will , no point in loaning a player in final year of contract unless it's a Wesley situation where they have zero chance of a move

Right at the end the commentator made what might be a valid point about JJ. He was on a yellow from the first game and Carsley would have been thinking about the Germany game.

He came on for last 10 mins and looked a class above. Holding onto the ball at the right times. Controlling midfield and telling his teammates what to do.  This is where those 100 odd villa games come into effect. He has mega experience for his age now. Not appearances like alot of his peers. Actual starts for Villa.

Ya he looked a better coached player to even the likes of Jones , kept everything simple and calm , knowing the game was won and need to be managed

I'd be absolutely gobsmacked if we managed to sign Chiesa. It would be a sliding doors moment, a real sit up and take notice signing. I just don't see it.

I've only seen him play for Italy and always looked incredible, his stats are not amazing last season. Is he a Jack Grealish type player ? by that I mean , his stats always looked underwhelming and you needed to see him week in week out to realise just how good he is .

OK cool. Lets ignore the massive resources, access to the entire world of professional footballers, and lavishly supported and funded scouting and analytics departments to find a fudge solution at right back.

Think it's worth remembering Foyth was the right back at Villarreal under Emery. He isn't the traditional right back and started his career central, football in last 5 or so years has changed a lot, the traditional positions have become more fluid

Those two posts make zero sense.

Why would we be negotiating with Leeds if he has a clause in his contract?

They're not going to accept any less than that, as its probably already below his actual value.

Sometimes the fee can be negotiated even if it's a release in play, We may offer a player or possibly want to pay in installments even if it means paying slightly above the release
