  1. To be honest, getting in Coutinho, Digne, Olsen and Chambers with mainly fringe players leaving on loan is a very good window. It would have been excellent if we got a DM as well, but I think Gerrard is happy with the options he's got if the right player can#t be brought in today. The only blemish is Targett leaving, and not because of his ability, or even where he's going for me, but it just seems an odd move without a specialised replacement. Young can fill in, but ultimately this would leave us with only one dedicated left back, which is odd considering Gerrard wanted more competition there.
  2. Maybe Gerrard is happy with Young as backup there until the summer. I'd rather keep Targett, but to be fair at least we do have another option if Digne isn't available.
  3. What's happened to Lewis, does he just not play for them anymore?
  4. It's alright, all I meant was the urn would be too lightweight considering CM Punk doused himself in his ashes...
  5. Only 11pm will answer that question for sure.
  6. I don't think having an urn at DM is going to help us.
  7. They were pretty good at getting it all in the bucket to be fair.
  8. I wouldn't be too sure about the good signing for them part. His biggest struggles have come in front of intense crowds with no defensive cover in front of him. The Newcastle fans can be ruthless and Sain-Maximin won't help him out defensively.
  9. I completely agree mate, I don't think he should be going out on any form of deal unless we have another left back coming in. That said, maybe Gerrard is happy with Young as back up for three and a half months and we look to bring another left back in during the summer.
  10. The right back is Williams who's only 20, but their back up left back Tsimikas is 25, so hardly a kid just starting out. He's also rapid so a good cheap player when starting out on Fifa lol
  11. Yeah possibly, but that could still leave us short in other positions if there's a few injuries and suspensions. It just doesn't tie in with Gerrards comments about wanting a big competetive squad.
  12. Someone mentioned it earlier, but I think the loan was probably something Targett wants so if they go down he's not committed to signing for a championship club. Yes we could say no and demand a fee, but similarly if there's only one interested club and it's deadline day then our hands are tied a bit.
  13. Surely if we are loaning him out then Hickey or another left back must be coming in. Why sign competition to strengthen the position only to let Targett go and leave us with one dedicated left back again?
  14. Agreed, he's shown more than enough to have the managers faith moving forwards, but we also need another option there, especially if Luiz continues to be used as one of the more advanced in the 3 man midfield (where he's also looked better)
  15. £60 million for January supposedly, which you can easily see being true due to the Grealish profit that massively pushed back our FFP limits.
  16. I feel like I'm in the minority but as it became more apparant it was going to be him, I've grown more confident that he will be a good appointment. I mean I back every manager regardless, but I'm not backing Gerrard purely out of hope, I actually think the inferstructure is there for him to succeed, and the fact his coaches are all joining him only strengthens his chances. After all a workman is only as good as his tools, and he's being given the tools to succeed, on top of being a born winner. I appreciate it could all go wrong, but I really don't think it will.
  17. It's even stranger as he did play in the England youth teams as well, which is something Southgate loves, progressing from there to the seniors. Still, the less spotlights on him, the better it is for the club.
  18. The nail couldn't have been hit more perfectly on the head. He;s come from nowhere and essentially ended Davis' career at the club. If he keeps progressing he could kill of Wesley when he returns from his loan as well.
  19. You could quite easily argue the only 'bad' penalty from a Villa player was Young, as he didn't hit the target. If you hit the target and hit the ball with anywhere near enough power for it to go in, you've done your job. Nakamba did this. Unfortunately Kepa also did his job. That's just how it goes sometimes.
  20. Frankly this kid is just a baller. One of the most underrated players in the entire league.
  21. There's definitely no story here. McGinn was complaining about a pain in his cheekbone following the initial knock, that's why he took the tablets, but a bruised cheekbone isn't a sign of concussion, he said he felt fine just hadp ain there specifically. As soon as he said he felt dizzy he was subbed. The medical staff aren't clairvoyants, and neither are the players. If I'd taken a knock in a game, but thought it was just something as basic as a bruised cheek I definitely wouldn't want to be subbed either.
  22. I think it will be upheld to be fair. Their disciplinary issue is to do with the game which was played then suspended, it's a seperate matter from the issue with clubs not making players available for selection. Other nations have also requested this, not jsut Brazil, and it looks like their players are going to be banned so I can't see why the Brazilians would get a different treatment.
  23. I don't think he'll go anywhere in January. We have an option to extend his contract by a year, so I fully expect us to take that up so he can't leave on a free. We might still sell him next summer though.
  24. Yeah one on here, but I saw it quite alot on that lovely environment of Twitter as well. Apologies, I probably should have been more specific!
