  1. Similar to Andy Murray, Brits hate winners unfortunately.
  2. Not sure i share your enthusiasm for this film. Liked what it was trying to do, bit of a throwback film, didn't hold back on the violence etc.. like so many films do to get that 12 rating these days. Biggest problem was that it was just flat out boring for some of the film, tried to indicate Denzel had a mysterious past and a thrilling back story but had no interest in actually showing any of that despite the 2hr plus running time. Film was at least 20-30 minutes too long. What was the point of Chloe Moretz being in that film? Shes supposed to be his motivation at the start of the film but then promptly disappears for the rest of it. Denzel was good of course but the copy and paste eastern eurpeans was badly done and the cliches were out in force. 6/10 for me
  3. Correct. Sounds like quite a professional. I think that also spawned Ricky into a little dialogue about how it sounds like spy code and does a little skit about someone saying you have the hair of a china man and the other person says "im sorry" and then he says "you have the feet of a fish" - "oh sorry you're the wrong person, goodbye!" Classic stuff.
  4. Was listening to one myself last night. It's the one where Karl is probed by Ricky and Steve on what he got his girlfriend for Christmas and it turns out he got a massive 100 box of condoms. Then he says he doesn't like giving gifts as Christmas was always bad memories for him including the time his parents were having a party and he was sent to his room early to play with his train sets which his brother promptly broke by turning the transformer up (this is the brother lest we forget who got kicked out of the army for going for a packet of fags in a tank) Oh and how Karl got up at 5am, opened all his presents and then went back to bed just to relieve the tension of not knowing what he had got. Classic shows! Edit: also listened to one the other day where Karl reminisces about getting his hair cut as a young lad by the barber over a railway bridge who had to stop cutting when the train came through. This is also the barber who told he had the chair of a china man and Ricky quips "you have the hair of a bald china man now" Brilliant!
  5. I hope he shows them up good and proper Will definitely be tuning in for that.
  6. Don't think its possible for us to win this game personally, we simply don't win 3 games on the bounce. Having said that i don't think there are any teams in the league bar Leicester who are playing with less confidence at the minute so we should look to take advantage of that. I think the key is in the first goal for this match.
  7. A lot of criticism of Lambert may be up for debate but if he drops anyone from our defence of the last few games he deserves all the stick he gets. You don't change winning teams imo. Make players earn their place.
  8. Yeah that's bang on, pretty sad state of affairs when people are more actively engaged in who to vote out of the jungle or big brother. That's how disillusioned and un-engaged we have become as a society.
  9. I don't see how. Bit of an egotist, maybe. Hypocrite? How so? Man earning a lot of money from comedy, film and TV is still permitted to hold left wing views and attack 'the establishment'. Tony Benn was seen as coming from the establishment (his background was anyway). But he still hated it, and committed his life to rallying against it. I agree with what you have said i'm just playing devils advocate really. Having said that i don't think he has done himself any favour by trying to flog a book for 20 quid while claiming that socially inequality and material possessions etc.. are something we need to get away from.
  10. I think it's more just the fact that he's a massive twit on a huge self-promotion kick. I wouldn't even argue against that but it doesn't make the issues he is highlighting any less important. He probably is a hypocrite and i don't have the time or desire to argue back and forth about his actions or motives but at least hes out there highlighting the problems and trying to do something about it, which is more than can be said for 98% of the population in this country and the exact reason why we face this "illusion" of democracy. I also get the impression that a lot of hate aimed at him from the British public comes from pure and simple jealousy, not because of his character or his hypocritical actions at times but purely because we hate winners. We hate the fact that someone from a humble background is doing well for himself, living the playboy lifestyle and marrying katy perry, to be fair that one does annoy me!
  11. Just out of interest why is someone who has done alright for himself not allowed to highlight the inequalities in today's society? I don't think hes protesting about the wealth of marginal celebrities, its more like the billionaires of this world and the people with massive influence over media like Rupert Murdoch. Hes entitled to his opinion as much as any man on the street, just because he bothers to go out there and highlight his concerns doesn't mean he should be immediately shot down. Even from the passing interest i have given him i'm aware that he doesn't claim to have the answers, hes just asking for the people who do to get involved and try to change things. The British people really don't like people to get ideas above their station do they?
  12. Nightcrawler Very interesting film from a first time director, original story, great lead performance from Gyllenhaal. Thought it lacked a bit of direction at times but it was a great watch and the 2 hours flew by. Think it would have been a great basis for a tv series personally, maybe half hour episodes with each one focusing on a different accident and how it plays out etc... might have given a bit more time for the lead character to evolve rather than forcing it over 2 hours. 8/10 for me.
  13. I would have: Guzan Hutton-Okore-Clark-Cissohko Lowton-Sanchez-cleverly-Westwood Gabby-Benteke Let lowton bomb down the right and get crosses in and Cissohko can bomb down the left leaving cleverly and Westwood to keep things tight down the left side.
  14. The 1% is muppets Christmas carol
  15. I actually thought T3 wasn't that bad, it's pretty much a dumb action movie but it's terminator, what do you want? It gets an extra point just for that cool scene where arnie is carrying a massive coffin on one shoulder and a big ass chain gun.
  16. Sanchez is actually looking our best midfielder recently and im pleased for him. The problem is playing him, cleverly and westwood in the same midfield is counter productive, they are all essentially the same player and exactly the reason we can't score more than one goal in a game.
  17. I wouldn't criticise Weimann for not scoring recently because he has to do so much defensive work when we are on the backfoot for 80 minutes of most games, and to be honest hes bloody good at it. Gabby on the other hand, its about time he started turning up in games because tonight he was invisible.
  18. Thats pretty much what i said.
  19. Not quite sure when? Heavy substance usage? Hope you're never a witness to an accident! Haha - nah i watch a lot of films and its been a long week at work. That and my long running smack addiction of course.
  20. Have to say i watched Last Vegas at some point in the last week and i quite enjoyed it. Yes everyone is phoning it in (I'm looking at you de niro!) but it was quite a sweet tale of some old timers having their last hurrah and it wasn't as cynical as i would have expected. 6.5/10
  21. I know what you are saying but i took it as a 100 million pound version of power rangers, and it was still terrible.
  22. I honestly thought pacific rim was terrible.
  23. No idea why but i love the Green Hornet. Its a proper guilty pleasure of mine, i think its the fact that it doesn't take itself too seriously (aka 90's comic book films) but it doesn't come off as cheesy because of it. Comic Book films are far too dark and broody these days for my liking, still yet to see guardians of the galaxy but i'm hoping i will enjoy it.
