I did. I dip in and out now but I used to watch every race back in the day when it was much less predictable and only half the field finished a race. Its too big to fail but I imagine a lot of the new viewers they got from Drive to Survive are also switching off now.

06-09 were brilliant years. Cars were good and most importantly there was still refueling which added a massive layer of tactics we just don’t see anymore.

  2. I’m sure Albon came out and debunked that theory about there being two cars in the garage. It’s just that Max has that edge of a couple of tenths and by the time the second driver has figured out where he’s gaining the time the lead driver has already started tweaking the car to find a few more tenths and they are forever playing catch up from there.

I enjoyed the race. Yes in hindsight it was still kind of a procession, but there was still the jeopardy of who would win while it was playing out. Especially with Ferrari's ability to shoot themselves in the foot. Plus there's the novelty, even in a procession, of it not being a Max win.  And some good stuff happening further down the field as well as usual. Double points finishes for the Haas, and Yuki with another good race.

I thought the same. It weirdly felt like a bit of a throwback race where you were unsure of the winner, there were some shock retirements, couple of dodgy pit stops and differing pit stop strategies.

Not a classic "race" by any means but a true F1 fan should have enjoyed that one imo.

after seeing the film originally , I'd read some fan theories / explanations on the web , so I wanted the second viewing  to see if it kinda  helped it all make sense  .. and also partly as it was on the telly and I couldn't be bothered to change channels / find something else to watch  .. (similar to when Starship Troopers is on for the 623rd time but I still end up watching it again anyway )

I think Prometheus specifically is a lot deeper than the surface level, it’s a fascinating film to me. I think Ridley’s only mistake was tying Prometheus to the alien world, it probably would have worked better as its own standalone film. Covenant was his attempt to bring back in more traditional Alien action which probably didn’t satisfy either side enough, still an enjoyable film for me though.

Don’t quite understand why Ridley has had to abandon his trilogy to be a producer for what’s almost certainly going to be an inferior film leaving loads of loose ends from Prometheus and Covenant.

  6. Champions league teams do not play as badly as we have in the last 2 games or in general since Christmas. We just aren’t there yet at all.

we’ve got into this really annoying mid table routine of being good one week and terrible the next, top 4 teams don’t perform that way.

  7. Man U have spent 10-15 years buying players at the top of their curve in terms of transfer fee plus the man u tax.

They have been trying to fast track success which rarely ever works (see Chelsea in the last 2 years). You have to build a squad under the right manager and then wait for the success to come after. Both Arteta and Klopp weren't exactly flying when they moved to their clubs, it takes time...

Watching footage of the Wayne Couzens arrest, even his dwelling had a somewhat sinister look about it, with the cat slithering around the room.

A true sense of the presence of malevolence.

Still find it baffling he rented a car in his own name and paid with his own bank account details then burned the body on a small patch of land he owned. As an active police officer how on earth did he think that wouldn't come back to him.

  9. Potter would be mad to turn them down. End of the day he’s an out of work manager and it’s one of the biggest clubs in the world.

For some reason I feel like it could be a good match although not to the levels of winning the league. Not even sure what success is to United fans these days. You would think a cup and champs league would be enough but clearly not 😂

  10. Love the fact that F1 is back but Jesus that was one of the most boring races I’ve seen in a while. Not a good sign at all for the season ahead.

Good drive from Sainz fair play on that one.

  11. Christ does this race need a safety car.

Im tempted to retract my comment about this season being closer, if Perez is taking a comfortable second that’s not a good sign at all.

What are you basing that on?

The big 4 teams all being happier with their cars this year. No doubt that will just catch up to RBs car last year but even then Max can’t win 20 races again.

I fell out with the F1 early into last season, I'm not one of the Max haters but I just couldn't be bothered watching him win at a canter every week.

I've just put the Qualifying on, is the season going to be any different to the last or should I save myself the bother of watching because Max is going to be so far out in front again

Too early to say but the gap looks to have been closed slightly and we should definitely have more winners than just Max this year.

its been a few weeks so just thought I'd drop a quick update in here, I'm currently down 4st 3lbs, its getting to be bloody expensive though because I've had to buy new clothes, the new jeans I bought are already too big for me and I'm gunna have to buy yet another few pairs.

I was trying to hold out for 4st 7lbs before my next treat but I've caved and ordered myself a 16oz piece of fish n chips and I've gotta admit, I'm bloody excited for it, first time I've had fish and chips in about 5 months.

There is no guilt at all about this particular treat, I've worked hard for it, I'll be straight back in the gym tomorrow to start on working it off.

Very impressive mate, that’s more than a flash diet it’s a total lifestyle change to lose that. Very inspiring.

  15. Ferrari car just looks fast for some reason and I don’t mean based on what’s been seen at testing so far.

Mercedes by all accounts have a more balanced car aswell so you would hope during ghe races that Max isn’t at his absolute best they might be in the mix up for podiums/wins.

Have a feeling Alpine will be nowhere this year, feels likes they are going backwards every year. Have a feeling Aston will be nowhere as well this year.

That should probably be a penalty and I thought the Endo one was a foul, on a yellow and potentially a second one - anyway, free kick to Liverpool.

Klopp will no doubt be furious for some reason.

That was 100% a penalty. Absolute joke that’s not given and then the VAR check done in seconds.

If Liverpool needed that late on that is given all day long.

1st goal is a defensive error from Kamara

    3rd is a wonder strike

    Just one of those days.

We were totally overrun in the game though, exactly the same as Newcastle, exactly the same as Man U before that.

Top 4 teams don't get overrun like that and look totally devoid of ideas so often. Yes these games happen but its become regular over the last 2 months and there is an issue that needs to be addressed clearly.

I love that film. Must go back and watch it again.
You are not alone in your feelings about Eisenberg. I mostly like the films he’s been in but I’m not sure he has all that much in terms of range.

He doesn’t have a lot of range but he was great in Social Network, Adventureland and The Double.
