  1. I'd feel pretty pissed off about Bruce if I was a SW fan. But given the lack of loyalty routinely shown to managers by their clubs, it seems a little unfair to criticize a manager for leaving when a better opportunity comes along.
  2. In plain white rather than tobacco stained 70s motel room, that would look brilliant.
  3. They just try to be the opposite of their Aussie neighbours.
  4. What an astonishing game. We were down and out once Buttler went, but I've never seen anything like those last two overs. Trust England to make it literally as difficult as they possibly could have! I've aged about 15 years overnight.
  5. Absolutely destroying Australia at cricket is my favourite sport thing. That was brutal.
  6. In fairness, Dean Sturridge tends to have a lot of time on his hands, he's gotta do something.
  7. Chelsea were premier league winners in 2005 and 2006. I'd suggest they were stronger back then than they are now, as were Arsenal and Man Utd. Spurs were top 5 in both seasons prior to Ashley buying Newcastle. Sure, Man City weren't competitive, but Everton were. Any way you look at it, Newcastle have declined under Ashley, and a lot of the blame for that can be laid on... Mike Ashley.
  8. Rafa's a decent manager, but he doesn't have 4 promotions from the Championship.
  9. Don't see what the big deal is here. Sure, we're arguably paying a little over the odds, but we've got Hause at a good price and El Ghazi was an absolute steal. All three at well under 30 million quid all up? Gotta be happy with that.
  10. A semi-final against the Aussies then. Oh please god don't let us lose this one.
  11. Well if Frank flops they won't be going for another inexperienced former player. Surprised they're taking the risk, but who knows, perhaps it will work?
  12. Looks like Chelsea are set to unveil Lampard as manager. Bold decision on their part.
  13. Team from the last game was a good one I think - 5 pace bowlers plus Rashid, and Root can always give us a couple of overs if we need something different. We've got more than enough to beat NZ, but they have a great record against us in tournaments and some very dangerous bowlers. Could go either way...
  14. Crucial match against the kiwis today. Hope Plunkett gets the nod over Moeen again. Much as I like Moeen, during the world cup so far we've won every time Plunkett plays!
  15. I'm not sure that's how the word "anonymous" works
  16. That's more like it Afghanistan may well have wanted to do Pakistan a favour, but MS Dhoni didn't...
  17. That's rather unfair... we've not been playing "friendlies". We've absolutely slaughtered most sides in the world over the last few years home and away, and broken a ridiculous number of records in the process. To suggest a one day series against Australia for example is in any way a "friendly" is just absurd. Which is not to say we haven't been poor in this world cup - looks like we're struggling with the pressure for sure. Don't think you can understate how much we're missing Jason Roy at the top of the innings, he really sets the tone for what follows. Unfortunately it's now Vince doing that. Once Hales was dropped, we had nothing in reserve with the bat. I'd rather see Curran open than Vince! Curiously too, the pitches haven't helped us - which is odd given that it's a home tournament. India all but through now after beating Windies, which is good news for England. I still think this team has enough about them to come good - we've certainly got a few players that owe us some big performances. Let's hope they turn up!
  18. Not a bad effort from Rooney...
  19. Ha! They have a "supposed takeover" pretty much every season! Pretty sure it's just Ashley trolling the fans.
