  1. I don’t think Trez had the attributes to make it to a higher level with us - but when we needed him, his goals helped keep us in the league. Especially in that crucial game with Arsenal. Same with Anwar. They were what we needed at the time. Made some valuable contributions whilst we recognised their limitations.

Nico is adjusting to a new league, and culture, trying to keep himself fit, often out of position and having his name run through the mud by the Italian tabloids. Having read his comments and reflecting on other interviews, he’s got a sensible head - pragmatic and reasonable. Not what you’d except when you see him on the pitch. He plays with passion for sure. It may not always work out, but he’s scored us two crucial goals that keeps us in the fight for 4th place. I’m not prepared to right him off. Nor does it absolve his weaker performances.

It’s clear that the club hasn’t yet decided what to do with him, but he understands that. Whatever the outcome, I will support him. You wear our famous shirt with pride or passion- you get my support.

  2. Happy for Youri. I know it’s been tough when he’s probably not being played to his strengths or best position at times, but I hope he takes a lot of confidence from this and we can see more goals from him.

Zero problem with anything he has said… do believe is future is back in Italy but hopefully he can contribute and help us out for the rest of the season. Opportunities and time has been limited imo.

    Good luck to him.

Tabloids blew his quotes out of proportion and context. Imagine my shock. Those are totally reasonable and grounded comments tbh.

  4. Forest spent £20m in Jan 2023 knowing full well they were having serious problems meeting sustainability rules months earlier. Think they signed about 6 names that window - including some free signings.

Should add that Forest knew in September 2022 they breached PSR rules by £6.9m

  5. “By the end of September 2022, it was clear that PSR was a real issue to Forest, yet it continued to acquire players in the January 2023 window.”

The sheer arrogance of Forest. The deduction should be bigger tbh. What did they think would happen?!

FIFA have decided to expand the U17 world cup from 24 to 48 teams.

They've also decided to hold it every year.

And they've decided on a host for the first five years.

    Qatar.

Unbelievable. Honestly staggering, but not the least bit surprising.

  7. If you excuse Johnson, they’ve only had about £20-30m in sales since they came up and spent £250m. The excuse to hold out for more money for Johnson simply doesn’t wash. I'm glad that was dismissed. But the punishment is far too light still.

Not 'Direby' anymore, then? What a surprise.

Almost as if he's not an awful player whom we supposedly overpaid for and just needed to regain his confidence.

Yep. Really illuminating to go back and read the ridiculous hyperbole by some just weeks ago.

This is quite an interesting line.  It could work either way; but definitely hints at nothing long term.

That’s a fair way to look at it. Give the lad motivation to make it happen. We have first option to buy but it’s not a guarantee we go through with the deal.
