  1. Emi and Ramsey are developing an almost telepathic understanding. They work so well together in possession.
  2. The aerial prowess of this guy is so underated.
  3. A thought regarding his shin injury. Perhaps there is an understanding deep down that it’s always going to be recurring, and will only get worse. Villa may push for Europe soon, even within a couple of years…but perhaps that might be too late for him.
  4. As much as I agree that it would increase a bit…I get the impression that his agent may have hid just how big his brand is/will be from staying with Villa.
  5. It’s all very strange isn’t it. 24 hours later and no response at all to the bid. Oh to be a fly on the wall in the boardroom.
  6. Would love it if Jack was in on it. Accept the bid, let them talk, and Jack simply tells them to do one. Would be wild.
  7. So, is it official that the offer is 90m plus a player? That would mean that there’s either no release clause…or…they haven’t met it.
  8. He's so passive for a big guy. Reminds me of the defender version of Heskey.
  9. The guy seems to have either forgotten how to run past players with the ball, or has had it coached out of him.
  10. With 20 minutes to go in a game poised at 0-0, a manager should be looking at two options when making a substitution. Either bring on someone to help consolidate our position, or someone who can have an explosive impact on the game. I think it's clear that Jack isn't at a stage in his career to be able to complete either of those tasks. He seems to be someone that needs to start a game, and be given time to understand the style of play and tempo that is required of him. It also gives him time to build his confidence a bit, and not be too worried about making a mistake. I agree that he didn't look great on Saturday, but I don't think we should be worried at all. I mean what can you expect from a 19 year old lad with next to no top flight experience, being thrown in against the league champions, at a point in the game when they are going to go all out, chase everything down, shut down all of our players and pretty much do anything to score. I know he is a bit of a donkey these days, but I would have brought Bent on, just to keep their midfield looking back over their shoulders more than anything else, and make them worry a bit more about committing numbers forward. I don't think we can start him just yet, as I think the pace and directness of Gabby and N'Zogbia playing off Benteke is what we need at the moment, but if we get into another run of wins, then why not give him a start. I think Jack is the biggest sufferer of the shambolic early League Cup exit, as those games would have been a perfect opportunity for him to get some real first team experience. Hopefully we will have a decent FA Cup run, and the lad will be able to grab his chance then.
  11. I don't understand....3-0 down and the front line sits half way into our own half, allowing their defence to amble towards our goal. Utter, utter crap!!
  12. Kozak on. Now we may start playing the long ball game.........wait a minute!!1
  13. Infuriatingly dreadful so far. West Ham might as well be passing it around static cones. This sin't counter-attacking football!!
  14. Worst 25 minutes I've seen so far this season. Didnt want to believe that we have become the new long ball team in the league, but it is definitely looking that way.
  15. Whatever happens in the future, the very least that Paul Lambert has done so far is change the mentality of the club for the good. He is breeding a philosophy of players having to earn their places in the team, and play for the club and not for the money. I wouldn't be surprised if Lambert is choosing not to spend big. After all, if big fees are paid for players, they expect big wages. If in two years time, progress is still slow, and Lambert either walks or is pushed out, I will still be grateful for him implementing a more suitable ethos for our club. I don't think rapid success is what we need either. Look at what happened with Newcastle. They invested heavily, they smelt success, and then it disappeared in a flash. Now they seem to be the laughing stock of the league. Don't get me wrong, I'm not going to complain if we spend £10m+ on a suitable player, but I'm still content with the way things are going. Build a stable structure for the future of the club, financially and on the pitch.
  16. Can see Lambert instructing Delph to stick to Morrison tomorrow. With both of there reputations, there could be fireworks.
  17. Hello all, I've been a Villan since I was five (21 years), influenced by my grandfather who lived just down the road from Villa Park. I've been following VillaTalk for about 3 years now, and have always had my own opinions on the topics raised within the forum. However, I have never fully committed and engaged. Thought it was about time for a change. Favourite all time player - Dwight Yorke (my dad used to think it was funny to say I looked like him, despite the stark difference in ethnicity) Memorable Moment - Savo's thunderbolt against Leeds in the 96 Coca-Cola Cup final. Worst moment - A tie between McLeish joining and Yorke leaving. Favourite current player - Fabian Delph. I have always believed he would come good, and he is finally starting to show why we forked out such a hefty sum. Let's see some of those trademark screamers from your Leeds days now. Prediction for the season - 8th/9th. Despite our current dip in form, I can see there is a greater determination and improvement in general quality in comparison to last season. I believe we will start putting wins together, starting this weekend against the phony claret and blues. Anyway, I look forward to instigating/ contributing to/ trying my hardest to be as non offensive as possible, in as many debates/ discussions as possible. UTV Joey2Arms
