  1. I'd just like us to set up to attack. sure as s-hit can't defend. may as well have a go from the off. At least that would entertain us and give us some hope. Liverpool were not in a good state prior to our game and under pressure, The crowd could have turned with just a little encouragement. Setting up to contain played right into their hands. Giving them encouragement to get on the ball and try things. we conceded straight away, which can happen and sucks. That happened when we had a back 4, we then had a back 5 for a bit. pretty much saying have the effing ball. Tim's right. we do look better on the front foot. wasn't that how he got the much needed results when he came in? There's a lot of games to go and we defo can play a lot better. I'm not saying go completely gun-ho but even when we lead if we sit deep we're screwed. we're just not good enough at it! be it, individual errors, giving away silly set pieces out of panic or just wilting to the constant pressure when we surrender the fight to dominate the ball. One of the greatest things about having young players with ability is that they have no fear. great antidote for that is being in the bottom 3. At the same time i do believe with a couple of wins confidence can serge through this lot and we'll look completely different. Hope that happens sooner rather than later.
  2. Thuggishness has been replace by composre and class. Like it. Keep it up al
  3. I can't believe how well he's started. My house mate is Lfc and like the post above we watch a lot games together. Anyone in the uk and into watching footy on the telly saw a lot of Liverpool last season. Cissokho imo looked solid defensively but didn't take care of the ball like most of his team mates. In our side tho, he looks the tits. Looks more confident and comfortable. Solid addition and better than what we had. We'll miss him if he's out.
  4. Just a hypothetical question. IF he does do really well, looks like a pro footballer, scores goals in the SPL and champions league. Can we get him back? Celtic have him on loan with an option to buy. Does that mean they have the option to buy him ahead of us wanting him back if was ever the case? For the record... I personally think there's a good player in there somewhere. Football is a confidence game. If a row z flew in instead you could see a totally different player. He is quick and at least attempts to use both feet. Stan clearly thinks he's good. I don't think he's just trying to hook a brother up.
  5. Did people not see him play last season? http://vimeo.com/m/92846254
  6. What's the hang up with flight. It takes about half an hour!
  7. Preseason is about fitness and gradually getting closer to match sharpness. At the moment it's very very gradual.
  8. Clark just ain't good enough.
  9. Being told which players he can and can't keep? Not sure that's true. Don't think he ever really fancied albrighton. After all it's not like he was awesome for a ages. gave it a go when he realised his deal was up and unlikely to get a new one, unless he pulled his finger out. 3 weeks of good form shouldn't put him in a position of power (in terms of negotiating a new deal) see ya. Bent... If there's any chance he looked like he would smash in goals I'm sure he'd be used or would've had a successful loan and attracted suitors. He hasn't and bent without goals is like a screwball with out the bubble gum ball at the end, just dosent't bring enough to the team. He's stuck with these players right now. If P.L's here when bent contract is up, huttons, they'll be gone.
  10. After big gay Al, I think lambert has done well to keep us up - whilst trying to oust, high under performing earners and bring in cheap alternatives. From how it looks. taking on a team as under confident as we were when P.L walked through the door and challenging for anything other than staying in the league was unlikely. If you expected more than that, It's not really his fault. I think re-signing Guzan, bringing in benteke, vlaar, and probably jores, getting the best out of delph are things that give me hope. Don't get me wrong tho. I don't like 15% possession and told we played well with 1 shot on target. I'd like to see him backed. Buying a better quality of young hungry footballer. Dortmund style. I believe he would too.
  11. Because they are assets (Financially) and belong to the club. Maybe? I think it's more likely a new owner would want to see everything he's buying, Hutton and all. Perhaps we no longer need to look for loans for these players because "new people" will pay their wages. Makes sense to have every villa player back really. Doesn't mean Hutton will grace vp again.
  12. This could be a real kwantum leap!
  13. I heard there was thread about Kozak somewhere.
  14. Anyone know of a spare floating around?
  15. Desperate for a ticket to this! It seems the first allocation shifted (quickly) then there was "more demand" and history of this fixture. It's only a small ground, we always sell our allocation. It's just stupid.
  16. Jeeze, zonal marking. didn't work then and doesn't work now! space doesn't score goals!
  17. ah cheers. Think i'll plumb for M then - and ouch to the poster above 93.20!!
  18. I haven't watched him fully in a game yet but watched the highlights of all the preseason games on avtv, and it seems he's had a hand in quite a few of the goals scored so far. i've been pleasantly surprised... so far. Think the poorer babel comment is a little harsh imo. each to their own tho. played a good number of games for his old club and probably wasn't expecting a team like us to come calling. with better players around him and an exciting new challenge he may just raise his game. i predict he'll be reliable, industrious with a will to get forward. may not always have the ability to do the things he wants. Hopefully respond to some good coaching. point is i think i see more positives than negatives with bacuna right now. great for squad strength either way i hope.
  19. Unfortunately not I live in Norwich. more likely to see Genks new kit in a store here than the Villa kit.
  20. Hi, new here. Can anyone help me out? I wanna buy the new away kit. reading through some posts it seems there's quite a bit of difference in size. i can't find tape measure either and don't really wanna buy one for this purpose (tight i know), The shirt is already costing a pretty penny with the addition of weimann's name and number on the back. The last kit i had was the nike fit acorns one. i took a medium in that. so would I be a M or L? any ideas? seeing as it goes up 24x XXXL or something. apparently i can't send it back if get a name and number on it see. any help appreciated. thanks
  21. Hi my name is dave. LIfe long VIll fan ( don't ever remember having a choice) my grandad used to take me to villa park where I used to be lifted over the turn Stiles (good old days). My family moved to Norfolk when I was nine. I now live in Norwich and I'm 29. Haven't had a season ticket since Mon 2nd season. It's just a massive treak every other week and an ever more increasing expense. I do try to get down to villa when I can. Obvious enjoyed 2 away games at carrow rd last year. Cup and league. Looking forward to posting and contributing in debate. Thanks
