  1. The fact that it did or didn’t happen is a side issue.

We have a poster on here who literally typed that using the term ‘Darkie’ isn’t racist. There’s no misconstruing that.

    “Darkies. Racist 🤣🤣🤣“.

Sorry to bump up this thread but it’s got me from travelling. Feel like shit. But I don’t feel anywhere near as bad when I got it a year ago so hopefully better in a day or too.

That sucks. Hope you feel better soon chap.

I saw Dylan Moran about 15 years ago and he was good, but someone I prefer to watch on screen rather live if that makes sense.

Saw Dara O'Briain a couple of years ago and seeing him again next year, he's good fun.  And Ed Byrne was reliable decent too. Not top level, but laughed fairly regularly throughout.

Gary Delaney at the glee club was good fun too, I think he works best in the comedy club atmosphere rather than the big stage venues.

Did also see Rich Hall and his double persona also around 15 years ago and I thought he was superb. He's so **** smart. Plus his occasional documentaries on American culture are always worth a watch.

I love Rich Hall to bits but I wasn’t a fan of his Otis gimmick. It wasn’t advertised as such either which is why I didn’t enjoy it.

  4. Worst gig I’ve ever been to was Rich Hall. He was doing his Otis Lee Redshaw music redneck schtick and it was just shite. I was really looking forward to it too.

The one I wasn’t really looking forward to as I find the pub landlord stuff a bit meh but had me in bits from start to end was Al Murray. Really funny guy.

Honey badgers are in the top one of coolest animals. Little dangerous snake killing, lion bashing badasses.

No animal that looks like Gerry Francis could stake a claim at coolest animal.

  6. Whole of society is messed up. Everyone hates each other. Every different subculture of society has its prejudices. Non of it is exclusive to white people although it is also obviously more prevalent. Not to pick on Islam but I’d say that specific cultures issue with the LGBQT+ community is just as prevalent as our inbred dumbass racist white people if not more. It just makes me depressed to think about it. There are so many issues to sort out and overcome culturally and globally that it’s overwhelming. Scarily I don’t think it will ever get better.

  7. I was bullied at school, I also bullied others because of it. Not proud of it and if I had the chance to now meet those I’d upset as a kid back then I’d sincerely apologise profusely and try and make amends somehow.

I was also lucky that my Dad is absolutely batshit mental. Most of the time he’s a likeable nob but when I was getting bullied he bided  his time and waited for the kid after school, asked me to point out who was doing it, grabbed him by the throat when no one was around and said if he messes with me again then he’ll kill him and his family then set the house on fire. Terrified the poor lad. You know how Jimmy Bullard looked nervously scared of Big Dunc? I felt a bit like that.

The kid didn’t speak to me for over a year at school then one day he randomly came and apologised and while we didn’t become best friends or anything we actually got on well after that. He even came round for tea once and felt better after my dad said he would never actually do such a thing.

23 years later my Dad is still mental but thankfully his days of threatening school kids and their families with death and corpse burning are behind him (I think). Although he has a 3 year old grandkid now so when he gets older I expect Dad to go full on Gran Torino if anyone messes with him.  Mad old bastard.

  8. I think at the present time Burr is the best in the world imo. Although if he could spend a little bit less time with mental people like Joe Rogan that would be nice. But yeah, at the top of his game and only Chappelle or Stewart Lee can touch him currently. Man is a genius.

The one I’ve always been desperate to like is Mitch Hedberg. He seemed like such a likeable but lost soul. I love his performance and his manner, his delivery and approach is awesome but the end result just never hits with me. One for when you buzzed out of your head I wonder?

Johnnie Irwin, presenter of property shows, Escape to the Country and A Place in the Sun confirms he has terminal cancer :( He’s 48 and father to three kids aged 3 and below.

Just seen this on BBC. Such a nice bloke. It’s sad when it happens to anyone and no different here. I posted a month or so ago saying he looked really ill and thought the worst but kind of forgot about it until I read that this morning. Life is a cruel **** bitch sometimes.

  10. Shout out to Norm (RIP) too. The Moth joke is 10/10 comedy. The dedication to drawing out such a shit joke to the point that you forget what he was originally on about only to slap you round the face with an obvious payoff that makes you hate him. Master of his craft in such a low key way yet imo doesn’t get the acclaim he deserves.

Edit: I had to add the Dirty Johnny joke.

I think he’s pointing out that Martinez made practically the same mistake today, but will escape any criticism.

Martinez has plenty of credit in the bank to be forgiven a mistake here and there, Olsen as yet does not.

When Martinez lets in 11 in 3 appearances then he can talk.

  12. Much better. Nice to see him enjoying his game again and he looked so happy and ecstatic at the end. I wrote him off under Gerrard, to Ezri’s credit this humble pie is delicious.
