  1. I get what you mean and it can indeed turn out that way, but some players deliver on both stages.
  2. Well, he has a big ol' pair of hairy, heavily loaded, low hangers, if his performance today is anything to go by.
  3. Spuds and Chelsea sniffing so probably out of reach, but Denzel Dumfries looks decent.
  4. Fair question and criticism. Don't care, when we are away from home and winning. We aren't good enough to rampage............yet.
  5. Fine margins, we rode our luck at times, but that was beautiful In a word, gritty, which just recently is very un-Villa like. The players have immediately responded to his reputation and new methods. Thank you, Unai. Great coach because that's two very different performances (forget the cup game), that have ended in a win. He's already gone, so this is gratuitous, but **** you Gerard, you Scouse word removed, Unai is everything you are not and never will be.
  6. Sure, that is what he did, give him a chance, but he didn't need to. Whatever history Olsen has is irrelevant now. The last two to three years of his career have wiped out any credit he had previously accrued. Check out what his champion's league experience with Roma actually amounted to. If we needed a back up keeper it shouldn't have been him.
  7. I mean, I understand the respect for principles, but as you say, he's awful and Emery must have known that before the game, so the decision to play him anyway seems odd, it's a bad decision. The guy lacks any confidence and having some is a basic requirement for any keeper. How many people looked at our team sheet and thought that looks weak for all sorts of reasons, but particularly because Olsen is playing? I certainly did.
  8. Why did Emery think he was a valid option?
  9. Another unconvincing player, who doesn't offer much of anything
  10. Olsen is not a good goalkeeper. Couple of decent stops in this game, but he's so nervy and unconvincing. Not a suitable back up and he must be replaced. We did well to lead twice, but you have to question the team selection I'm afraid. Bit of a mistake from Emery there because Utd are shit and we gifted them the win. McGinn is finished.
  11. Well, I know the team has changed, but that was immediately back to the Gerrardball woeful incompetence. Slow, predictable, inaccurate passing. Awful.
  12. Reality is, if we go 1 nil down against any team, it's likely we will lose, or at best get a point. The stats clearly show that and it makes us vulnerable against any side that takes the game to us and doesn't let us play. We are brittle, so addressing that is Unai's top priority. If he can't, we probably will be relegated this season.
  13. What were you expecting? We did okay first half, but the old frailties haven't gone away just because we thumped Brentford at home after a ferocious start. This result was always a possibility if we went behind. We are weak under pressure and have been for a while. You are right, he's got lots of work to do.
  14. Why? It was pretty obvious it would happen. One swallow does not a summer make.
  15. What is it about the music on football showreels? As you say, always dire, because it features the same emo vocal with overwrought lyrics and a preset 90's trance beat. Show some imagination ffs!
  16. I totally understand where you are coming from and it is a legitimate concern, however, even if they aren't paying attention to his ten hour video lectures, the fact they are playing in their own preferred position and the team are functioning as a whole should inspire them enough to apply themselves professionally. That certainly worked on Sunday. If it doesn't work with Emery, the players don't want to be successful. Simple as that.
  17. Once, when Trevor Brooking was presenting 606 on radio 5, I called the show to ask him if he acknowledged the fact there was only one Claret and Blue. Trevor being clever, said: "whose that then", so I duly explained. Weirdly, he then lost interest and moved on to the next call.
  18. Sorry you had to put up with that pigheaded, miserable Scouse word removed lads and thank you for today. That was sexy x
  19. Take your pick... https://www.urbandictionary.com/define.php?term=Dank
  20. He really is. Apart from his media mates, who constantly cover for him, everyone else can see that he's a **** chancer. Like I said the other day, Sherwood without the fun. Rarely has a Villa manager been so painfully out of his depth.
