The key player @ CB for me is Dunne, Collins/Cuellar/Davies all have looked good when playing alongside him, and half the player when they have to play together. @ RB I feel MON decided to put 3 in form players (even if they were all CB’s) in when L young lost his brother, I could see the reasoning which was given when we played Blackburn and they were so physical CC and his extra height were useful at set pieces, he then stayed in and we went on a run with the best defensive form in the league. I get the impression the Chelsea result almost gave MON the chance to say ‘see what happens when I leave out Cuellar?’ but it ignores the fact we were beaten through the middle of the park by Chelsea using small quick players making Dunne and Collins look silly, I seem to remember Robhinho and Ireland having similar success last season (or the one before?) against us, but I think this is always gonna be the case as MON likes big physical CB’s, and RB’s by the look of it…

I just think if he intends to be the all time greatest he’s got to finish people, his wrestling is truly awesome, but he should be using it to g and p better, it was becoming obvious hardy wouldn’t tap to a lock, he could of started to go for more chokes or g and p. That would be a true sign of greatness. Personally I didn’t think hardy should have been in there, how the 3rd best WW at AKA versus the 2nd best WW at rough house could be the number one contender match is a triumph of UFC marketing. I just don’t thnk they could risk hardy against Alves, Fitch calibre guys as that would leave them with NO-ONE to challenge GSP. I really think he should be finishing this calibre of fighter, who was basically an ideal style match up for him…

It wasnt boring at all. GSP was actively looking for the submissions, and Dan was working some good ground defence. If you find it boring then you shouldnt be watching the sport. Ive actually competed in the sport and followed it for a long time, but if i wanted to watch submission wrestling id watch ADCC, he was taking zero risks with his GnP, 3 decent sub attempts in what was pretty much 25 min of ground fighting, and lets face it 2 of them were kimuras, which no-one at that level should submit too. fair enough he was dominating and a supreme athlete, but they ended up in the same position again and agin and GSP couldnt finish him. Hardy wasnt doing anything other than basic sub escapes.

Glad Mir didnt win, Brock another match would of meant brock had had 6 pro fights, 3 of which were against Mir, no need for that. GSP was different class, but with anyone else accusations of lay and pray might be going around. It was quite boring...

Is he still going on about that UEFA cup match? I thought the main reason people were pissed off was just how many players were rested for that match. Brining in L Young, Delph, Carew, even the Fonz for the odd match to rest players between now and the end of the season isn’t the same thing. He does seem to think its all or nothing!

I did get annoyed at the way we just couldn’t keep possession in the 2nd half when we had the ball, passes going behind players, straight to there player, back to our goalkeeper… MON seems not to want to offend any of our MF’s and take them off, I personally would of got Carew off and got another MF on so we could at least boss that area of the pitch a bit more! All very well saying spuds were going route one, but we kept giving them the ball back.

Ordered my ticket for The next UFC in LDN in feb this morn, heavy rumours its gonna be Anderson-Chuck, and mentionings of Serra-Hughes and Jardine-Cane. excited already, love chuck and anderson, 2 of my all time fav fighters, have seen anderson fight a couple of times b4, but never chuck.

good read, although i did hope moore would have a bigger impact at the baggies than the reserve team, oh well...

some close to call bouts, except the headliner which will be anderson without breaking into a sweat! (watch as Cote KO's him in 14 secs now i've said that). and who's junior santos? has he fought in ufc b4? hope the franca- aurelio fight manages to get shown.

so so night, the lytle maych was probably the most entertaining. As for the boo'ing wasnt that mainly in the Vera- jardine match? hmm those 2 were pretty dull, Vera hasnt put on a decent performance since his come back. People who boo coz its hit the floor are dicks, but booing due to inactivity is fair enough. apparently bisping will be fighting the winner of the hendo franklin match (im guessing at the end of UK v USA TUF), hoping its franklin, Hendo is a VERY bad match up for mike IMO.
