    I don't watch much of Wigan, but I remember during there losing run, some reviews after the game saying all they needed was a striker to finish off the chances and they would have been winning them games. Hopefully if we do get Martinez he will be the manager that can get the best out of Darren Bent.

    Agree with this accept I would move Klinsmann up a group, mainly because of the hype his appointment would create.

    The reason that Whelan talks up Martinez for the Liverpool job is he thinks he won't get it and that Liverpool will go for a bigger manager. Hence he keeps Martinez for another season.

    If people who back OGS at 10-1 or above after advice from TheTrees were stupid enough not to lay their bets off then that's their stupid fault. The info he gave was spot on.

    I think Lambert is first choice, and always has been. I cant see how they would want OGS over him. I think the fact that OGS wasn't offered the job before he went to meet his owner speaks volumes. At the end of the day, the ITK knew **** all about OGS until the info about the plane came up, after that OGS basically did a couple of come and get me plea's, now he has changed his mind and wants to stay. Does that sound like someone that has been offered the Villa job and turned it down or someone that has realised they are staying with their club and wanting to save face with the fans/owners?

    Drama queens. None of this would have been in the public domain if it wasn't for TheTrees spotting the plane movements. Blame the club for stuff we shouldn't even know is a load of bollocks. We just have to wait and see, who knows what other manager we have spoken to with people finding out.

    As long as he we bring in the right manager, that's all that maters. I think Faulker has **** up at times, but he seems to be able to bring in the players that the manager wants. So if he makes the right choice as manager, no one will give a shit that he is still CEO in 6 months time.

    Contact probably was made, Mick's agent phoned the Villa and got told to **** off. Guess that constitutes a story as you never said who made contact.

    If he has any faith in his own ability then he would fancy his chances to get into the team.

    Kendrick was spot on with his info when Houllier was off, think it turned out to be a day of waiting though so feel pretty confident McLeish is gone.

    I think it will be nearer 16k next season, I think we would have lost 1/1.5k or so anyway as of the general boredom of football these days, but the rest would be as a direct result of McLeish been in charge.

    So people slag off McLeish saying he has nullified Bent, but his scoring record this season is more or less the same as the rest of his career. How does that make sense?

    Why was it? Collins/Heskey both shouldn't be in the team. Who would you have played instead of Collins?

    They played well because they knew the consequences, the team was like it was due to injuries, it forced McEcks hand otherwise why hasn't this happened in the previous 17 matches? Because a lot of the time McLeish got the tactics wrong, also , however last night was good. Plus for it to go well for McLeish, N'Zogbia needed to start well after we lost Young and Downing, last night was his best performance of the season and we looked a better team for it.

    You think if we play like that every week we will get relegated? I disagree but if we did so be it. I enjoyed the game last night as the players tried and that's what I want to see. I'm not a fan of McLeish, but he ain't going anywhere so I like to look at positives. So when the players play shit, it's McLeishs fault, but when they do well, it's nothing to do with him? What a load of bollocks.

    Albrighton has been given a run in the team hasn't he? Can't see McLeish dropping him, and Herd has been playing instead of Clark. As for Bannan, he was given a run but lost his place due to drink driving. If the players perform like that every week McLeish can stay.

    The thing is, with Bent's lack of ability to hold the ball up, and also his poor defending at set pieces, he could actually lose the game as well. I was pleased to see him brought off, even though I do like Bent. We have always ended up hoofing the ball a bit at the end of a game if we are winning, a lot of teams will so with Gabby or Heskey as the front man, it's less likely to come back you like it does with Bent.

    Fingers crossed, with Albrighton and N'Zogbia coming into some form, Bent will get more chance's and re-discover his goal scoring form.

    Thought Bent could have done better for their goal as well and actually tried to tackle Zat Knight other than move out the way.

    I still wouldn't anyway, I have felt for a while that i don't get value for money when I go to the games, this was under MON, Houllier and McLeish. Every season, I think I can normally remember one, maybe two really good games at Villa Park.

    I agree completely with this, maybe not so much with the relegation but I understand completely what you mean. I got bored of going a couple of seasons ago, when we had our best season in years, and got to Wembley twice, but I still found it a bit boring going to Villa Park.

    I won't be renewing no mater what as I just find it a chore for a lot of the games, I felt this even in the last season under MON. As someone else said, I'll be joining a golf club instead. However the tripe McLeish is serving up means its likely that I won't even bother using my season ticket as I just can't be bothered to watch that crap.
