  1. You see this is the problem with us all being on the outside. Most people on here are quite happy to see Dunne going; granted as long as there's some kind of reinforcement in that area. So the manager gets kudos to some extent for selling Dunne. But some (not you btw) will seize the opportunity to take a potential negative and twist it into "oh he was freeing up the wages for someone new". It all depends what stance you've adopted. Everything gets 'analysed'; well I say analysed but in reality it's complete speculation because we're working from a position of total ignorace when it comes to how PL is being allowed to re-shape his squad. My stance that I wanted rid of Collins or Dunne, if he gets rid of both, along with Hutton and Warnock, the man is a mother **** genius. Whoever we had got playing in defence, surely they can't be as bad as them from last season. When I saw the the four of them in Malmasion the day we lost at home to the Baggies, getting hammered, Dunne and Collins smoking, I realised that they couldn't give a flying **** about the Villa.
  2. Unless we bring in some shit hot players in other positions because of it. Proof will be at the end of the window.
  3. Why do you have relate everything back to Lerner? Exactly, the majority are just waiting to see what happens. It's all just rumours at the moment.
  4. I don't see Lambert as the type to do much he doesn't want to do. Maybe he wants to clear out all the trouble makers from last season. Personally I think it's a mistake to let Dunne go without a replacement, but hopefully Lambert knows what he is doing.
  5. Well he wouldn't have to let him go if he doesn't want to. He obviously feels we will be fine, I don't but you can't blame Lerner on this one, well of course you will.
  6. Anyway, I think it's extremely unlikely that Dunne will prove his fitness due to the fact that he was meant to be out for 6-8 weeks from 1st August.
  7. I was also dubious about him going but was told 2 weeks ago that if they can prove his fitness before the deadline he was likely to leave . :!: No replacement Herd used as 4th centre back unless that has changed Wow, I would be more than happy to get him off the books but the fact that if we had a couple injuries we could end up with Herd and Baker at center back. Crazy
  8. Dunne won't be going anywhere, and if by anychance he is, we will be getting a replacement in. I don't think Lambert is on a mission to take us down and leave us with 3 specialist center back's, two of which are youngsters. However, if Lambert has managed to find a buyer for an injured Richard Dunne then the man is an absolute genius.
  9. It would be but as Stoke have a work permit hearing this week for the right back they are trying to sign the idea of tem buying Hutton is extremely unlikely. am sure Popov is a left back Just looked are you are indeed correct. Stoke fan I sit next to said he was a right back. I will have to slap him now and tell him they ARE going to be signing Hutton.
  10. I would have thought he would want someone in the middle, but no point loaning Huddlestone from Spurs, even though I would like him Spurs would never give you an option to buy, so if he does well he would cost a fortune.

  12. One game into the season for N'Zogbia, last season he was poor. But the manager didn't help. I'm prepared to give him 5 games or so to let him prove himself. Hopefully once the players gel together in the new style it will bring out the best in N'Zogbia.
  13. And some would still be moaning, kind of how it is. I think it's more that most people are waiting until the end of the transfer window before giving judgement on Lerner and calling him a "clearing in the woods".
  14. I have a feeling that Lambert has plans for Gabby to be our target man.
  15. Straight swap for Andy Carroll would be a good move for all parties.
  16. Most people aren't having a pop at him. Just a lot Villa fans like myself don't go to reserve game etc, so I've only ever seen him at first team level and he hasn't shown anything. Most players you normally see something from over the period of a few games, even if they aren't playing well. All we are saying is we are confused about the hype because cant see anything at the moment.
  17. Who did look good last season? Herd, Baker, Lichaj, Wieman all showed more promise for me last season in there first team appearances. I'm not writing Gardner off, but he has shown nothing so far to show me he can become a top class premier league player. I remember Craig's debut against Newcastle I think and he showed more that Gary has in that one game.
  18. I've not seen anything from Gardner to suggest he will be anywhere near as good as his brother, let alone our Steven Gerrard. Shame as with all the hype about him I was pretty hopefull but he wont be the last youngster to come through our ranks and not live up to the hype.
  19. I feel embarrased that I responded to your previous post after reading this.
  20. Would probably cost 10 million + to pay off Warnock and Hutton after loyalty bonuses etc. Might eat into the transfer budget a bit?
  21. Better than last year's at least. How can you be sure about that?
  22. We shouldn't praise Lerner yet not, but then we also shouldn't criticize him either for not backing the manager. I've not seen Lowton, KEA or Vlaar play, but just because they didn't cost a combined amount of £20 million + like in the past, it doesn't mean that they won't be better players for us than Warnock, Cueller and NRC.
  23. I would definitely take him at the right price, which I would think would be around £5/6 million. Good player on his day and will increase competition for places.
  24. Well if Randy is broke then surely we should demand that he finds investment or sell up. I can't believe that some fans are happy to just say the money isn't there. Just because it's Randy we're happy to just be a nothing club? Why? Some people want the club to be ran as a self sustaining business. Personally I don't like the thought of the owner chucking loads of his own money in there. It doesn't sit well with me. Whether Randy and Paul Faulkner will be the people that manage to make us successful as well doing that time will tell.
  25. Warnock does have attributes, mostly that make him shitter so it would amaze me if there were any players in the Premier League that are as shit as Warnock, let alone twice as shit. What about Alan Hutton? Do you think either or both are better or worse? Warnock has cost Villa in excess of £14 million for his shite perfomences and I I wouldn't say he is less shit than Hutton. I just can not believe that Rose is twice as bad as Warnock.
