No we need a striker who can score. Yes. I'm saying really break it down- what type of chances couldn't we finish? The space to shoot was in behind. A striker wouldn't be filling those positions - meaning it's not a striker we need. As a side note, Rudy's hold up play is superb.

We scored 2 again, and it's not like we were fluffing chances in the box except for Micah's chance. The space was just outside the box, and Gana, Westwood and Bacuna couldn't hit the target. I'd say we are more in need of a goal scoring mid (or Veretout to sort his shit out).

Start of the game I was going to post in here that we don't need him, Clark is solid. Know the games over I was wrong. I think he'd start over Clark.

Wowee. I can't believe there isn't more excitement and hype around this. Ljajic is wayyyyy out of our league. If we pulled this off it would be our biggest coup ever in my opinion. Certainly bigger than Traore and probably bigger than Bent. Ljajic is a game changer who operates on the biggest stage. Unreal to even be linked.

The ITK's here are a bit like John Edward. If you had genuinely been privy to inside information, I can't discern a difference between saying precisely what you knew and alluding to it. The arguments of 'saving face', 'not revealing sources and even 'I don't want to get into trouble' are invalid. Alluding to something or saying it outright have the same net result. Either fully commit to your rumour, or don't insinuate. My two cents.

Okay, time for some truth bombs. Firstly, Gestede is going at about 1 in 2 so far so I'm not sure what more you want from him at this stage. What clear chances did he miss yesterday? Gabby fluffed a couple but wouldn't have been in those positions without his pace. So another striker most likely wouldn't have scored yesterday. If it's about being good with your feet we have Ayew for that who will settle - he's been here 5 minutes. Striker is least of our worries. Guzan's distribution and decision making are not at the level required. Too many turnovers, and he shouldn't have rolled it out to Amavi which resulted in their second. Maybe Bunn is the answer but this is our biggest area of need. Bacuna signed a 5 year deal and I believe he is a great utility currently. However, id like to see a more defensive RB brought in. I don't think we'll need much overlap with Adama taking off down that wing, but I do think we need cover for when teams break against us. I actually don't think Bacuna is that quick comparatively. Richards especially as well as Clark are as solid as rocks. I think we're set at CB. Sanchez should start, Veretout should take over Westwood eventually in a 4-3-3, Grealish looks the goods as our playmaker and we've got Gil as backup. So really, in my opinion, our needs are a starting GK, a more defensive (or quicker) RB then daylight.

Richards will play there. So will Clark. And Okore. And Crespo. And Baker. And Senderos. Wouldn't say we badly need one. Right back on the other hand: Hutfon. That's it.

Even IF 2 CB's go, we still have 4. If you want to start assuming, which is fair enough, you'd have to assume that actually Bacuna is a RM. that only leaves Hutton. That is absolutely scary. Yes Richards CAN play there, but at this stage there's no indication of that, in fact it's been stated he's a CB. Crespo, essentially same deal. Looks more a CB than a RB to me, don't you reckon? I take your point about signing a starter who can walk into the team at CB, but surely, obviously, one of those is more needed at RB?

Correct me if I'm wrong lads, but here is how I see our current Depth chart (only players signed/of note are mentioned): GK: Guzan Bunn Steer RB: Bacuna Hutton CB: Richards - Clark Okore - Crespo Baker - Senderos LB: Amavi Richardson Cissokho DM/BTB: Gueye Sanchez Westwood Gardner Herd AM/W: Grealish Gil Sinclair N'Zogbia Cole ST: Ayew Kozak Agbonlahor I fully expect us to sign Gestede and potentially Adebayor, which is definitely needed as we are light on for strikers if we want to play two up top. Also a chance we sign Veretout, which I believe is desperately needed as well. I see everyone saying we need another CB. I don't think we do, at all. We have three PAIRINGS on our books. That is more than enough cover surely. I wholeheartedly believe that Micah will be played as a CB for the duration of his time here as well. I think that's the plan and I think it's pretty obvious to be honest. Based on that, I really think we need a quality RB before we need another CB. I'd also like to see us beef up our midfield, with another Winger/Attacking mid, and another Box to Box, but I feel as though they are less of a priority. After that I'd be looking at another Keeper. But for all the cries of another CB, I don't think it's justified (obviously you wouldn't say no, but I feel a RB should be more of a priority).

If I knew/thought we were signing Adebayor, I'd say something like 'shame about the take over but lucky we hadabuyor' and someone would pick up on it and we'd laugh and be merry.

One thing that really, really bugs me is when people suggest we are close to signing two players for example, then not even alluding to who they are. Surely if you have heard some gossip, you'd at least tease us with a riddle or something to keep us normal, unconnected folk excited!

I doubt that Cambiasso and Praet will happen. Would be stoked if they did though. That side is, in my opinion, closer to the top half than the bottom. Very, very much improved on the Cup Final 11.
