    Just seen the Ederson thing.

    What's the difference?

Honestly, we may as well be playing a different sport.

if it's a pen, then it is the double jeopardy rule where it's a yellow card and not a red.

Just seen it back. It’s cynical but it is a trip. Let’s see if this kind of challenge is ever given a red again. It never has been and it never will be again.

    Should be appealed.

Billing had a similar one vs Palace last month

Another game and he's nowhere to be seen. About 5 or 6 in a row now.

Is he injured, has he been sold and he's going in the summer.

Something's changed, his levels have dropped off a cliff. He's gone from controlling the midfield to being invisible.

probably because he plays a full 90 almost every game and we don't have anyone to put in for him

I suspect that's what the democrats were hoping would happen. Biden snuffs it during his first term and Kamala Harris takes over for the remainder and runs next time around. Too bad Sleepy Joe keeps living and Kamala is an alco.

I kept on thinking that, but I don't really see what the long-term strategy for democrats is. Who is the next in line?

What can you do against such logic?

he leans more conservative, so I can see why.

Can you beg him on behalf of the entire world to please vote for Biden?

I've talked politics to him before, and he thinks that Biden is incompetent.

But Trump and cronies blocked an immigration reform bill from Biden and co. Mad logic.

The thing I've seen is that the republicans don't think it "is tough enough on illegal immigration"

  8. not sure why Pau is even an option here tbh -- in a hypothetical, Konsa would get moved before he would as there is legitimately no one close itw to what Pau brings as a ball playing center back & we just signed him.

I'd say Luiz and Ramsey are the most "realistic" options if we needed a sale for ffp.

If I'd put them in order that I'd consider selling:

    • McGinn
    • Ramsey
    • Martinez
    • Luiz
    • Watkins
    • Pau

It’s hard to believe, but some of the less biased pollers I follow are really saying that there’s a small but significant set of voters who voted for Biden and are switching to Trump as the reason for Biden currently losing in the polls.

Who these people are and what their mindset is continue to be a struggle in basic logical reconciliation.

Polls have been off and I think the race will be close but it really is a struggle for me on who those people are. The rabid base I get, but vote switchers? Truly mind boggling.

one of my friends is one of these people. he voted for Biden in '20 as he disagreed with the way that Trump handled COVID and now is going to Trump as he does not like the way Biden is running/handling the nation currently (specifically on immigration).

What happens when a sitting President is no longer able to carry out the role?

Does it simply go the Vice President or is there an election?

25th amendment, it goes to the VP until the president is able to fulfill the presidential duties. If the president dies, then the VP becomes the next president.

We absolutely destroyed Man City and it seems to have been erased from history like it never happened.

Stephen Warnock was on commentary for the Manchester derby on the viewing in the states and he mentioned our win quite a few times when talking about tactics and how teams have been able to get at Man City

  12. no matter what happens over the summer, we can't just have him as the only senior LB in the squad. We look far too weak defensively with him at LB as compared to Digne

  13. quite a professional performance from him I thought. Was able to hold the ball up and won it back a few times which allowed us to get out of pressure. Coming on before Diaby is interesting as well.

U.S. market isn’t that huge with 350m people compared to Asia.  While growing they still have many massive other sports to compete attention for.

Same can be said about U.S. we don’t have a player from there.

Hence why potentially an opportunity to go there especially with the South Americans we have.

Imagine a game in Argentina given we have Martinez.

Plus getting links and exposure in South America will make us more of an option for the great young South American talent especially if nobody else goes there and with our heavy South American and Spanish players and coach.

U.S. is not even close to competing with that and every man and his dog goes to U.S. and bigger clubs than us.  South America is more untapped.

There maybe a reason for that, it’s unknown but surely with the likes of Martinez in our ranks it’s as good a time as any.

re U.S. we are just following other bigger clubs over there and to a smaller market and the games are pretty average.

Just think of a game versus River Plate compared to against Columbus Crew…not really a comparison in terms of exposure, interest or preseason fitness.

Great for the U.S. Villa fans but a wasted opportunity on many fronts imo.

yep, a lot of what @Zatman said is what I would say. NBC is paying $2.7 billion for the next 6 years of PL tv rights over here in the states. That's an eye watering sum for it and they are growing the game with other things as well. I also would say that the fanbase over in the US is much more likely to follow a PL club not due to a player whereas most of the Asian countries are focused on following a player (Spurs, Wolves, & Arsenal atm).

I understand the point you are making with going to south America (Argentina in particular), but the fan culture isn't going to mesh well with what Villa would be trying to achieve. I can't even remember if/when Real Madrid or Barcelona (with their global popularity) went on tour in South America last.

Though, I am surprised we aren't doing anything with Kobe.

U.S. again!!! Can’t we try other markets than the U.S….

Asia, South America…surely are better markets and better competitive pre-season matches than another U.S. trip.

There’s a reason that PL teams & the big European teams annually come to the states. The market here is huge and is exponentially growing. Funnily, I was listening to C&B earlier and the international markets was mentioned on a few questions.

i can see parts of Asia being a good place to go on a tour (South Korea, Japan, China, India) but we still don’t have that player which will be the first step in increasing revenue there. South America is generally a no go for most European teams — I don’t really recall the last time any major team went on tour there.

At what point did Purslow have responsibility for coaching and selecting the first team?

He didn’t? What he did have was the control over footballing matters (signing players) and now it’s been widely reported that Unai is at the top of the footballing structure now.
