  1. Change of plan on the Garmin, can't spend 200 quid when I've got a GPS tracker on my phone, so gonna just get a HRM. Which brands are the ones to go for? I've read good things about the Polar F6 which is up on Amazon for just over £50, anyone got any experience of it/them? Ta muchly, Trimbo
  2. Haha, an interesting conflict in opinion Mooney. First run since Fradley today, 7k in 43minutes, feel absolutely superb right now but was panting like a beast when we first finished, jeeeeeesus a week off sitting on my arse eating cream cakes didn't prepare me like I hoped. I did note during my week off (and a couple of weeks during snow time) that everything slowly started going to pot, losing things, getting angry at nothing, not sleeping well, shit performance at work et al. I feel at rest again now, proper relaxed, ready for a busy day tomorrow and looking forward to a good couple of weekends. The psychological benefits I've found to be be the equal of the physical benefits, if not more. It's strange man.
  3. Hmmmm, £190 is a lot of money for what is essentially not a fashion watch..... ugh I hate having money.
  4. Back to it this week sweetness. Looking into buying a Garmin watch, now that first race is done and I've sstill got the hunger for it I want to try and get optimum training regime on the go. I've got the money to spend on said watch, but is the 405 really worth 2ton?
  5. Well we did the 'ashes thing' today for my aunt, scattering them and that (not some kind of Oz vs Eng cricket match in her honour). What an anti-climax to someones life, being thrown over a garden. When I go I wanna be bbq'ed or seomthing, get some use out of the fire at least. Also found out we had another heartattack in the family last night, my ma's uncle. So that's 3 heart attacks to friends and family in 6 months, fuckerys man! I'm gonna get someone to check my food before I eat it going forward. Too many heart attacks maaaan.
  6. Nice one for the doping thing mate, is it thought within the game that Pac is seriously doped up then?
  7. Yes I do, a lot more than most people realise. There's too many characters and too much money for it to not happen. I don't mean so much as scorelines, but I'd bet my left testicle that there was some serious money changing hands between teams players refs and chairmen. It'll come to light soon I reckon.
  8. What's the deal with doping in boxing these days? Is it a regular yet rarely spoke of issue?
  9. Trials being a moto-x game or a quad game?
  10. Mooney expressed his disgust with a lolcat, villahero UP YOUR GAME!
  11. He was hiding the carpet burns.
  12. Finished it in 1.05.02, absolutely chuffed to bits, big up yourselves that have helped along the way, I'm buzzing man, buuuuuuzzzing!
  13. 506th fastest person in the West Midlands today! And, very first picture I found.... OH YAH!
  14. Not fair off two stones mate, but I packed in drinking too, the eating has been no different, if anything I've eaten more. Nice one mooney, massive help (as always), just need a watch now!
  15. I didn't pooh-pooh it! Do they give you a marker for every 1k then? A PB for us would be an hour, we've done 1.02.48 previously I think, so an hour would be good, every 1k should be done in 6 minutes, that works for me. I like the thought of picking off the other runners, it didn't even corss my mind that there would be others there! Class, it's gonna be ace man
  16. Ah right, good insight my mate, nice one. Any tips for Si and I for tomorrow?
  17. OK. 22:10 - 2 seconds short of a course PB (well off a distance PB, mind). 64th out of 245 runners. 4th in my age category (55-60). Bradford 10K next Sunday. Good luck to you and Si tomorrow. Full report expected here. Well done mate, 4th out of the age group, respect for that! What makes you run a 5k?
  18. It'll come. It's just a matter of building up stamina - but it's also a mental thing. Keep up the training regime and look back in six months or a year and you'll be staggered at the rate of improvement. Dec 16th 2008 ^^ Tomorrow will be almost 6 months to the day I started properly (running with our Si), absolutely buzzing about tomorrow, the sense of achievement already is incredible, but tomorrow will cement it. Big ups to all that have advised and guided, particularly Mooney for the continual advise, D1 for being good company and a big push in the right direction when we're out and Laura for being kind enough to spend time having her hair and nails done every other Saturday when I'm out.
  19. Mooney how you get on this morning mate?
