  1. Having been finally worn down by my kids... (and also wanting my kids l look the part in their new kits...!!!) I spent a small fortune of £150 on 2 children's kits .... I must say I think the new Macrob designs are really really smart.... However the quality of the shirts is appalling.... I have had to return the away shirt 3 times this week due to small 'pulls' in the material... The home shirt is also pulled, but it doesn't show up as badly as the home shirt for some reason... However I digress.... There is no way I am going to accept the shoddy quality, so if it means that I have to return it weekly to get a new top then that's what I'll do.... It'll end up costing he club more in the long run... I guess the moral of my little moan is that the club have sacrificed quality by using Macron.... Which is a real shame as the kits do look nice.....
  2. Anywhere in Sutton which shows it ??
  3. Rumours are circulating in Manchester that Beckham is in the frame.... I don't believe it either, but then again I never thought that we would get McLeish... And the FA record of picking good managers is on a par with Randy's.... 50-1 at sporting bet.. Worth a tenner
  4. Houllier for me.... He's never got a team relegated....
  5. ^^^^^^^ that just signifies this board and their empty promises to me.. I don't recognise it as belonging to my Villa... And hope that when the incumbents running the club into the ground inevitably leave, we return to a badge that we remember and signified success... A round badge with the words ASTON VILLA on will once again emblazon our shirts General... Please leave and take your uncommunicative boss with you
  6. General Why have the people who signed off this kit design agreed that Royal Blue socks actually go with this kit... ? In my opinion they look out of place and personally would rather have light blue.. Id like to ask other questions... but given that other people have already asked so many, questioning both yours and Randy's integrity I'll refrain for now.... However there is so much testosterone in existence on this thread I'll refrain... I also think that you and Randy are like rabbits in the headlights, and don't really know how to manage conflict or expectations of the fans, I wouldn't believe a word that comes from your mouths.... Let me know via a pm when you will be at the club, and I'll gladly come to villa park and tell you why I feel this way.... The Cleveland browns recent successes (this is ironic English humour) are a testament to your stewardship... So please, pass the reigns back to Doug... he had his faults, but he cared... You and Randy don't, please leave before you ruin my club
  7. Dear General This has probably been posted on numerous occassions, and gets repeated year on year... however I would appreciate a comment as to whether you think the prices of Replica shirts are a fair price. For Example... I have a 3 & 5 year old... who I would love to deck out in replica kits... however I am absolutely astounded to find out how much it will cost me to kit them both out in the 2011/12 kit.... £46.95 each (including their name and number on the shirt) Do you consider these prices to be value for money... or do you agree with me that this is excessive pricing...? Either way, my kids will not be wearing Villa Kits as these prices are a complete rip off.... and yes, I am aware that the market is also charging similar amounts for other shirtsd... however I had hoped (blindly) that we would look to encourage our junior fans to wear the shirt... Would appreciate your views.
  8. Still no response General to any comments... Says it all really, I thought you would at least have the balls to exlain your rationale. But no, you will no doubt leave it a few days, hope the storm blows over and come out with the usual BS about how you actually care etc Well guess what... This won't blow over... Even if McLeish wins the double, we will never forgive or forget the contempt which you have treated us with. For the record I will still support the team, because it's my team.... But I will never back you or any other member of this board.., such a shame as I like most Villa fans were taken in by your propaganda... You've let us down... I think you military types call it desertion
  9. Dear General It is with a heavy heart, and great regret that I wish to give notice of my intention to terminate my support for you and the board. Due to the contempt in which you and the Chairman have treated my colleagues and I over the last few weeks, I feel I have no other option but to watch events unfold at the once great Villa Park from afar. Under normal circumstances I would offer my best wishes to you and the business, but due to the lack of mutual respect shown by the board I regret I cannot wish you luck. I sincerely hope that you and your colleagues depart from my beloved club and leave it to real football people who don't proport to listen and act on fans feedback. Yours A Talbot
  10. Dear General Randy, Faulkner and you have sold us out... I know you like your Latin quotes... So please translate this Et tu Brute... Now, please sell up and leave Thank you
  11. Hi General.... Could you please confirm that the quote attributed to you was actually from you... http://tinyurl.com/3n7nx6w Mods... Please dont delete this... it is not directly linked to the Management situation, I would like to hear the Generals views in a safe environment where we know comments attributable to his name are actually his comments. Firstly, I would hope that following previous 'Pigs in Mud' remarks you would not again inflame the relationationship with our neighbours by making derogatory remarks again.... But if these remarks are directly attributable to you, I would like to ask the following: Firstly I (and most people) will accept your comments concerning the fact that you are neither confirming or denying rumours. You state that you are a fan and you understand the fans, what we stand for etc.... if this is the case, you would understand that our objections to the named candidate are fourfold... (1) The fact that he HAS overseen 2 relegation campaigns, despite financial backing from his Club... he continually picked substandard players (Cameron Jerome) despite having proven quality in his squad (Kevin Phillips) (2) His style of football is more akin to Sunday League football... long ball kick and rush football (3) What qualifies Sir Alex to judge a managers ability... has he ever chosen a manager for his club,.....? (4) We as lifetime fans of this club are not missing the point... local rivallry cuts deep amongst both sets of fans, and to take a manager with a track record of relegation rather than success shows that you and the board are the ones missing the point, and are sadly not as close to the culture and fans views as you espouse that you are. If these remarks are not from you, I apologise for the direct nature of my comments and questions... however in a culture of free speech, I would like to take my and offer you your right to reply. Many thanks
  12. Because Merson has a great track record with betting and drinking....
  13. 13 days since Houllier's Resignation confirmed..... the board have know about this situation for a good deal longer than this..... Meaningless holding statement from Paul Faulkner Usual 'We're not conducting our business in public' abd 'you've got to trust ' rhetoric from the General Talk (albeit papertalk and Sky BS) that we are after McLeish..... No news on Sponsors No news of the new kit I'm beginning to get bored of this Agent Lerner anyone.....
  14. Its McLeish. Based on what exactly.....?
  15. With all the rumour, counter rumour and pure BS in the press i am now getting worried...! McLeish as manager...? No thanks No kit yet.... No sponsors announced... Proud History, bright future...??? Given Randy's success with head coaches at the Browns I just don't see the future looking anything other than shite unless he pulls his finger out pretty sharpish and sorts out the mess above.
  16. Oh God... Steve McClaren... Not now... not ever..... As previous posters have mentioned... he would damage all credibility that the fans have in the Board.... dont undo the good work and make your 2nd hiring a 2nd failure....
  17. I was sat in the west brom exec seats today in the east stand.... Great hospitality all round apart from the shower of claret and blue shit I was watching.... Seriously, what game was McAllister watching to bring on Pires for Reo.... And I seriously hope I never see Ashley Young wear a Villa shirt ever again.... Absolutely disgraceful performance
  18. Does anyone know of any pubs in Sutton where they show games??
  19. I'm atalbot01... Playing Fifa 11... Has anyone started a league yet...? If not, are there any interested villatalkers who fancy it...?
  20. General Just thought I would share my experience of the Bolton game, as it was a momentous occasion for me taking my 4 year old son to his first game.... Firstly, he loved it, the atmosphere, set up etc.... think we have another fan for life...!! However, we sat in the Family enclosure in the Trinity Road.... and whilst I can say that the general set up there is very good... our seats were extremely disappointing, and the use of Industrial language was can I say 'disappointing'. Having been a season ticket holder for a number of years, I am all too aware that you cant control the use of bad language as sadly its part and parcel of watching the game... but the fact that a Family enclosure is populated by groups of Non family attendees only increases the use of language which is not acceptable for a 4 year old to be hearing (and then subsequently repeating when we got back home to see mum..) What was disappointing about this I guess is the fact that the stewards did not appear to be controlling the behaviour and language of the non family ticket holders... I also mentioned the view... when the tickets were purchased we were advised that we 'may' have a barrier in our line of sight... but it shouldnt pose any problems... let me tell you the barrier DID obstruct our view... and we were both unable to see the activity in the Holte End goal area... luckily the game was so poor that there wasn't any meaningful activity to view other than the Bolton goal... The seats were chosen on the basis that should I need to move up and down to the toilet or concourse area to keep my son busy (unpredictable 4 year old...!) to ensure that we would cause minimum disruption to others around me... The seats were terrible, and we were definately misadvised by the club ticket office. Finally... others have mentioned this... but the Half time refreshment facilities are poor... the queue was massive, and by the time we got to the front, there was nothing left... Overall, as mentioned the experience was a good one because it was his first game at the Villa... but it could have been so much better. If you need further info, please feel free to PM me... Thanks Andy
  21. General... As per other comments on here I feel that the current state of play with Nike is really poor, and like it or not is a poor reflection on the club as well as the suppliers. Can you confirm how long our deal is with Nike... And whether we plan on continuing our association with the supplier (a) of bland kits, ( with poor fulfillment history and © who clearly dont value the relationship with our great club as highly as they do with others. To be frank, they are a joke.
  22. General The theme from Villa fans I have spoken to and what I have read on this thread is that we applaud and welcome your comments and views... this is something which we have never had historically... so thank you for your continued input. There are some people on here who appear to have short memories, and have conveniently forgot the great work done behind the scenes on improving the Match day experience, Holte Suite & Pub redevelopment, upgrade to Bodymoor heath etc... all of this have improved the perception and standing of the club.. Ultimately however the success of the club is measured on the pitch, and with the perceived lack of activity on the Management Appointment front is rapidly undoing all of the good work that has been embedded over the last few years. In the space of 2 weeks we appear to have gone backwards by 3 years... and this season is going to be one of survival, and not building on the success & prgress we have made.... its just very disappointing & frustrating.
  23. I am right in the midst of Month end reporting hell.... Have got all my performance numbers to translate into a report that my boss understands.... its taken the best part of 3 hours with another 2 needed.... Oh the joys!!! Apart from that all's good... have got a pass out with the lads tonight!!!
