  1. We'll from my perspective, this nonsense made me put in the effort to find out about streaming. Been watching lots of PPV matches on my £10 a month IPTV subscription. Would've never bothered and carried on paying sky before, but now that's £80 a month I can get rid of for my Sky/BT subscription (only use Virgin for the sport, nothing else). Cheers Premier League!
  2. I was going to write just this. It's unbelievable how little professional pundits understand about the game. They're just lazy chancers.
  3. I was convinced he'd be a £100m footballer, and I told any of my friends who would listen just how good he was. I wonder if he regrets leaving us when he did, or if he's one of those just happy to sit and count his money.
  4. The difference with rugby is rugby doesn't really matter, while football does.
  5. Last time I watched a little river was about ten years ago. A crappy unreliable feed on my laptop with loads of popups. Since then I've just stumped up the £80+ for Sky and BT each month. This PPV thing tipped me over the edge though so I did a bit of playing around and managed to watch a HD stream on my TV through a foreign channel. It was a couple of minutes behind but I think it was worth it. Now I'm wondering whether I bother carrying on shelling out £80+ a month. If my little river solution continues to work, then I might well cut the cord. Won't feel too much guilt not giving Murdoch my money to be honest. The PPV thing might just backfire!
  6. More like Katie Hopkins! He was an excellent player, but he was a complete arsehole. And he still is, except now he has to play a character to keep being on the telly and maintain his fame. He's a muppet.
  7. Absolute bullshit merchant and a terrible boring cowardly manager. Wasted two evenings watching this dross.
  8. I just don't understand what this fool is doing. Absolutely clueless. What a waste of a championship having this bloke in charge. Just so depressingly unambitious and dull. A waste of a really good generation of players.
  9. Asked another direct question about Grealish which he ducked and dived around to talk about anything but Grealish. Boring dork.
  10. They're sick in the head. Just psychopaths.Unfortunately our society rewards psychopathy.
  11. What a complete spanner Southgate is. Makes McLeish look adventurous.
  12. The daftest thing about this is... I'm the only villa fan in the house. £15 is a lot for just me to watch 90mins of football. But if I have my mates round, and we take it in turns to get the matches in, it slashes the cost and makes it a bit more fun. Sounds great, except for this business about a little bug going round! No household mixing + £15 a game = people sticking two fingers up to local lockdown. It's just encouraging bad behaviour. I won't do that though. I've never really got into streaming. Did it about ten years ago and it was rubbish. I hear it might have moved on a but though and it's possible to get HD streams and the like. Never really looked into it as I didn't need to, but now I'm gonna find out what the deal is. And if it all works okay, bye bye Sky Sports and BT subscription and hello £70 a month savings. This could backfire in multiple ways.
  13. It's probably better for us it's taken so long for Grealish to get into the England set up. If he'd got in years ago he'd have been snapped up when we had our financial troubles, if not earlier, or he'd definitely have gone this summer. Now he's got a shiny new contract and we look decent, he'll hopefully stay. It says it all that people were surprised how good he was last night, when we all know that was a pretty mediocre performance in an unfamilair team for our Jack. People obviously just haven't been watching little unfashionable Aston Villa. I get that of opposition fans, in the same way I'm not going to go out of my way to watch say Burnley vs Southampton, but it's lazy from pundits. Keane last night giving out lazy tropes like his lack of end product over the last few seasons. His end-product has been fine, but what's happened there is Keane has looked how many assists he's got the last few years and drawn his conclusions, without considering the lack of quality players around Jack. This laziness suits us, but it does show just how many people high up in football haven't got the first clue about anything. Our Jack is a generational talent, and will probably end up being the best player I see play for Villa in my lifetime, past and future. He should be one of, if not the first name on the teamsheet for England, and Southgate will waste these Euros playing his formulaic football-by-numbers. Though he'll probably get us through to a QF or Sf if we get a good draw, and hang on to his job from that. The future doesn't seem any brighter, I assume Boothroyd is being groomed to succeed Southgate, since the only qualification needed is to manage the U21s. This next 5-6 years through to WC2026 is England's best chance to win something since 1996, and it's going to be wasted because the daft old bollocks at the FA want a clean-cut Yes Man in charge.
  14. Ah yes, I fondly remembers Leeds winning the European Cup. What a night that was.
  15. This may have already been covered, but just so I understand, you're saying that if we discount all our pre-war achievements, and also discount our post-war achievements, we've not won much?
  16. Sky are becoming all about clickbait. Roy Keane is just an angry caricature, and Souness must just be a miserable old git they put there to generate clicks. He is absolutely clueless as a pundit, and barely seems to understand the game of football. An absolute idiot.
  17. Christ, I was wondering if it was just me thinking this! Thank you!!
  18. Really surprises me how good his hold up play is. He seems to have a bit of everything. Very promising...
  19. Same. Think there has to be an element of Barkley earning his place. Dropping Hourihane after a goal and assist could easily mess with team morale. I would like Barkley to start, but it's a tough thing to juggle as manager.
  20. Fantastic points and ideas. Never really thought about it that way before.
  21. The only indirect free kick in the box I remember seeing in the flesh was at Old Trafford, I think when we lost 3-2 to that late Macheda goal. If I remember right, Ronaldo scored from an indirect free kick. So I don't know why I like them so much, but they are entertaining! Obviously would still need the ref to decide whether deliberate or not so it's still subjective, but at least gives them somewhere to go for stuff like the Newcastle one.
  22. One change I'd quite like to see to handball.... Accidental handball - indirect free kick Deliberate handball - penalty Reduces the 'penalty' for it accidentally bouncing off your arm, and who doesn't love an indirect free kick in the box?
