  1. Sorry, but you don't seem to understand. Randy doesn't have debt. The club owe him money, but there will be no financial problems like Leeds unless Randy decides to call in the debt, which would be a fairly strange thing to do since he owns 100% of the club. With no premier money he would sell assets and raise his money back, selling is off for scrap to the highest bidder. He foes not care anymore and relegation would force his hand to get what he can. You're assuming quite a lot. If he wanted to sell the club for what it's worth the last thing he'd want to do would be to plunge it into a debt crisis while doing so. You're a real worrier, aren't you Fwiw I hope he sells if he can find someone with deeper pockets than he has, but while he's lending money to the club I don't think we can complain too much. He's been pruning and pruning for a few years, all because of his own a decisions which have caused the club to drop like a stone, three relegation battles, the loss of key players, a promise that we will spend money (Randy doesn't mind the fee) but wages are the problem, yet we spent net 10m in the window and Lambert - a cracking manager - had to choose between backup to Benteke and an attacking or holding mid because the money isn't there. We are not an investment fund. We are a football club. You might enjoying guessing where the next cut back comes. I enjoy winning games and wondering if we can get to Wembley or finish as high as possible and not just hope we might survive. The key is in the name. AVFC. one of the greatest clubs of all time, one of the names that should be at the top fighting it out, as a football club should be. The chairman has given up, the sooner he goes the better, so we can finally look to that pitch again and see us as a Football club, where everybody top to bottom wants the best players and where a manager doesn't have to pick between two players but can get those he wants. Your second point is good. As for calling me a real worrier, you're one of Lerner's little sheep, but that is fine, we can't all see it the same. If I was that much of a worrier I wouldn't have 100% faith in our manager, would I? Erm a wild stab in the dark here. I bet your wasn't this concerned and vocal on this thread when the money was being pumped and spent by MON. In fact you was most likely lapping it up like the rest of the fan base.
  2. I feel like a spring chicken now. And that's saying something as I was born in 71.
  3. Well there is lots of improvement to cheer about the best being the team spirit. The biggest concern is when we play bad, we take no prisoners and really, really play bad.
  4. My memory is a little hazy but was any of the anti Lerner posters voicing their concerns during the MON spending era?
  5. Was thinking the same. But on watching the replay he would not have made it before the city defender anyway.
  6. I'd agree with this if I thought there was a chance of him coming out of it with a profit. I see no jam. The jam was the MON era. Just to clarify, by jam I mean the 'good times' - http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Jam_tomorrow But his intentions from the start have been clear. Any money must be paid back.
  7. And as I said before, none of us here have inside knowledge on club strategy, so stop trying to pass off your opinion as fact and stop talking down to people who don't share the shame interpretation of the current club strategy as you do. Oh the irony of that statement. HH has already alluded to a lack of funding for the manager and there have already been major cutbacks at the club which would substantiate what BJ10 is saying and thats why he has questioned you on the ambition of the club. Where will the funding come from to make it not a lack of funding?
  8. Well loaning then writing off, isnt the same as loaning and then suspending interest payment. Depending on the time frame of course. But given the time frame of the Lerner loans then I would suspect the suspension to be temporary and his intention was to have the business by the balls from the start. But yeh who would complain about jam today. Isn't that why the capitalist world is so fooked up today.
  9. What Lerner did by not giving, but loaning the club the money to embark on 'his' initial plan has damaged the club massively. And to be frank, unless an oil sheik comes along the debt will always hold us back. The answer isnt more debt. So unless the clubs revenues can be raised to compete then it's either make do or hope an owner who is willing to subsidize the club comes along. That's why Lambert gives me so much hope, making do of the situation in the best way, although the start of the season has dented that hope. Because it's looking like the only option.
  10. You should probably try reading before getting frustrated. No one is demanding spending like there's no tomorrow. And as for your second point, should we be happy no matter what the owner does? We didn't accept it under Doug, why should we just because it's Lerner? We did survive and cut the wage bill. I just disagree that it was a sane approach given how close we came to a relegation that could have set us back years. A little bit more, lots more, or ridiculously more spending doesn't matter. The owner wan't his money back. Did the non acceptance under Doug get anywhere, did Doug give a ****. Or did Doug in the end just have enough and sell.
  11. FFS Ambitious, translation spend like there is no tommorrow. The sugar daddy is pulling the reins in, deal with it. Stop throwing the toys out.
  12. If we come out of it being one of the few self sufficient clubs in the league, while retaining our premier league place, we'll be incredibly well placed for the future and it'll all have been worthwhile A massive IF is needed with this delightful dream. It all comes done to IF that's Lerner's plan. Are you saying that all clubs who show ambition end up like QPR? Well we tried the QPR way and it was nice while it lasted but it would have bankrupted us if it was continued.
  13. Who to? Someone that is prepared to pay wages in the 40-50k region will do for a start. He is basically just gambling with our club and is making a mess of it because he fkd up when he first came here. It's easy to see the difference between someone who had to work hard to earn millions and someone who was born into money, the guy has no clue how to plan ahead and we are the one's suffering because of it.! Football ain't really a normal business....it's just a plaything for billionaires. See this were people are wrong. Yes we can have owners like Chelsea, Man City. But why not Arsenal or Liverpool, where they are still running the club as a business. Same at Tottenham really. What's the saying 'speculate to accumulate'. Its gonna be a long long hard road in the premiership the way Randy wants to run this club. That's if we stay in this League. He did speculate. You could even argue, balls deep speculation.
  14. Does put a shift in when he plays. Deserves a chance I think.
  15. Ah the old width and length debate. Some say it matters some don't.
  16. Not all this bullshit again. He's going to leave, depending on who comes in and offering how much is all that will dictate when he leaves. When he signed the new contract he was most likely told that play well for another season and you will have the likes of Man Utd interested and providing they stump up a reasonable fee you can leave when ever. The extension to the contract was to strengthen the clubs hand in negotiating the leaving fee when it happens. This is fair on Beneteke and now one would begrudge him that. But what is also fair to the club is the fee is of a reasonable size. In the mean time just enjoy him playing for us.
  17. The only way he will go in January is if the fee is massive, really massive.
  18. Can you explain what is between the lines?? Roy thinks Gabby is shite.
  19. Your supposedly black and your calling someone a faggot. Kapish?
  20. If he was making homophobic comments then yes I do care if it was him. Homophobia is illegal in this country and rightly so. I wonder if you'd be so dismissive of this if he was being racist and not homophobic? I doubt it very much. Oh so you noted the Sikh, and then turned it into Racism. Where did I condone his comments about Homophobia? What I said all this, it's him it's not. It's really getting boring. This topic is to talk about his Villa form not his could be Twitter Account. No, you said he was using twitter for his own amusement. WTF? NOTE the POSSIBLY!!!!! Anyway please stop quoting me on his Twitter account as I've stated many times zzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz Indeed and you also said you couldn't care less if he was.
