  1. I can feel a manager-sacking-bounce-back win coming on. Most of the team selections suggested above I'd go for. Just got a slightly horrible feeling that a supposedly good and sensible 11 will be picked, they all play really badly and then we all think "oh poo - it wasnt just the team selection, the whole squad sucks"
  2. Has Avami done something to pee Tim off or something? How in the name of all that is good and holy is Richardson playing ahead of Avami??
  3. Funniest half time round up by the commentator "Even I feel like booing after watching that first half" - "I cant think why these 2 teams are the lowest scorer in the league"
  4. Its great to have a bit of positive news for once! However as a villa fan the many recent kicks in the teeth have made me somewhat pessimistic in my outlook.. See Belhanda thread for how this might end! There are a few useful things that might inform this debate.. Does anybody know or have any credible information/sources on how much can any football team in the premier league expect to earn back from their investment. It seems there are 2 forms of buyer. 1. Those who wish to make a sensible high stake investment. 2. Mega rich buyer who wants a toy ( eg Man City). There is no intention to earn the money back but they want trophies. Most buyers will be in category 1. These investors will made a judgement call. If it is possible to earn back £250 Million a few years down the line by winning titles/cups/CL etc then they will possibly gamble and invest that type of money. If it is not credible to get those kind of returns then huge amounts of money will not be poured into Villa unless the buyer is in category 2. Dont forget that much of the income of huge clubs is global branding - this cant necessarily be bought overnight. Bottom line: What is a credible return on investment?
  5. Bacuna was pretty poor today. Although there does seem to be a bit of a trend for players new to the PL to take a while to settle in. I remember Sylla being pretty similar initially. Anyone know what the Lowton for KEA sub was trying to achieve?
  6. I agree that no one should be bashed for not being good enough, if Bannan isn't up to it then its bye bye from us and no looking back. However I do have a problem with villa players who disrespect locals in Sutton. I was at mere green village a few weeks back and I saw Bannan with some other villa players I didn't recognise. I assume these were reserve/youth players. They were pretending to kick passers by and having a good laugh. Barry included. If overpaid children cant learn to respect locals in Sutton who support villa and pay their wages then they can have as much grief as they deserve. I certainly wont miss Bannan. Ps sorry my first ever post on here is so negative !
  7. Hello everyone, I'm a lifelong villa fan... grew up in the shadows of villa park in Aston and now I'm in four oaks, a few miles from bodymoor heath. Bump into players in mere green every now and then. Hope I can contribute a little to this site.. have enjoyed reading posts on here for a while now Cheers Shammy
