  1. Haha. Sorry tbh, it's bad of me to post what I did, ironically for my lazy thinking. The truth is I/we see so many posts by so many people and I made a pattern of behaviour by probably conflating a dozen posts by a dozen people. I shouldn't have bothered writing what I did. My bad. I was procrastinating and I got carried away! And I hate the other guys too. Apologies again.
  2. Apologies. I never said it was because he was black btw! Anyway, in a pub, if you'd have said what you said, I'd have said what I said, you'd have said what you said back, that it was just about him never appearing, and we'd all be fine and happy. I definitely wasn't accusing you of anything negative other than what I thought it was a lazy comparison. It reminded me of other similar things, but not from you of course. Genuinely don't want to irritate you at work though, so sorry about that. I have high hopes for Marvellous.
  3. Did he? I only remember goals against Bournemouth and Sunderland. Hopefully Jota scores against Arsenal when we play them.
  4. I thought he did well. Genuinely. He looked threatening and as if he had some class about him.
  5. (For the record, this was not a comment on any level of racism, but only the slightly lazy comparisons we all make!!) So basically, he's African and you haven't seen him play yet, so he's the next Salifu. (Yes, I've interpreted your thought process for myself, but what else do you have to go on? It's not like you said he was the next Berson.) Just like Jota is the next Gil because they're both Spanish. And any Scottish manager is a dick because of Mcleish. I know you didn't say those last two things, but we've all seen these exact comparisons. It's really frikking lazy thinking imo. If you wanted to use another point of comparison between Salifu and Nakamba, other than his being African (again, I'm presuming, but, again, really – why else would you make the comparison?), why don't you compare transfer fees? One was £12million or something, the other was about £20. Or why don't you compare the clubs they were at before, and the standard of the football? One was playing in the Champions League for Brugge along with two of our other signings, and by all accounts, was one of the star players, the other had played 20 games for FC Wil. But, no, he's African and you haven't seen him play, so he's like Salifu. I think my only point is this: I doubt he's the next Salifu!
  6. Grealish didn't have a mare. He lost the ball twice, sure, but the rest of the time he looked great. I don't think I've ever seen him lose the ball before, so those two possession losses are seared into my brain.
  7. This is true. I was so against playing Hourihane there, but he was fine in comparison. I think Luis looked off the pace (the Spurs pace...they were very strong in the second half). It was a near impossible situation to come in and make a difference. Hopefully Nakamba or Luis make the position their own soon enough through their quality, which we're all hoping they have.
  8. I agree. Context was we were playing one of the best teams in the league. We were hard to break down and had a few chances ourselves. We definitely didn't deserve a 3-1.
  9. I imagine you won't be happy unless we secure that by Christmas.
  10. Or Marvellous. He's had more time to train and settle. He'd be crazy not to play one of them at DM.
  11. I think we are short one forward—someone who could have played on the wing or up front and got goals. I think this could be a big problem. I hope Kodj and Davis step up a level, but we have to be realistic here too—the jury is out. It just goes to show how much of a rebuild we needed this summer that we sign this many players and still could do with 1/2 more. I don't have much faith today. I think we'll have Hourihane at DM, and as much as I like him as a player, he was barely good enough in the Championship in that position. He will cost us goals and we're playing the Champions League Finalists. He's not quick enough to play there and we're not good enough to pin Spurs back and dominate possession to compensate. I fear a drubbing. I hope to be surprised though. I'm excited, but I think managed expectations is clearly the way to go. I expect we'll be in a battle in the lower half of the table. I hope for better! Just as long as we stay up and get a chance to build more next year.
  12. 'Personally I wish one of those clubs well'—what a dick.
  13. Ha sorry. I think secretly I knew you may have been thinking that.
  14. To be fair these are very stupid questions! Have you used much of the internet? Presumably you signed up to villa talk, so you must know how to register for things.
  15. It'd be eyerolling if an English footballer went abroad and they sang about him eating fish and chips and being stuck up.
  16. Ha. Definitely a legit quote with the 'and stuff'! Not that Villareport is a trusted source.
  17. His youtube videos are like Hause's debut on repeat over many games. Plus him missing and fouling.
  18. His videos are the worst I've ever seen!
  19. My word. They gave him a four-and-a-half year deal! And spent £3million on him when in the Prem.
  20. The other five Brentford players from their first 11 last year must have been rubbish.
  21. This is an easy response to make, but is it actually funny singing about black guys having big dicks? Where's the actual humour? What's the point?
  22. Yep it's an embarrassing chant. It's not funny. It's not clever. It's stupid.
  23. Any of us could stop Son scoring. Because he's suspended.
