  1. Felt the need to come in to vent over YET ANOTHER terrible refereeing performance. Hopefully it won't cost us today, but I'm definitely losing faith in the 'things evening themselves out over the season' principle.
  2. There's a Chinese in Edinburgh called Golden Ho's... it always amuses me.
  3. A shit day just got even shitter! Although I think it makes my worries seem inconsequential when looked at in this context. Never met, but shared a like-minded chat or two. RIP Paddy
  4. How the **** is that not a card for Howard!!! Useless yellow bastard. :@
  5. Good result, shame the Beeb couldn't be arsed saying anything about the game for the final 30!!!!!! mins.
  6. despite being head and shoulders above the rest of our team and doing arguably more than bent so far... I think we're watching a different game mate. I'll admit he's playing moderately better than the very low bar he's set himself, but it still comes back to the job of a striker (even more so in a 4-5-1) is to score goals or create them from the front. He does neither on a regular basis. he's put both ireland and nrc through on goal! he's playing as well as he's ever played for us, he's isolated and has little support but still holding it up well chasing everything and bringing others in to play obviously still cant shake his pantomime villain tag Fair point with the first part... as i said, compared to his usual low standard though etc. For a team of our calibre this isn't good enough. I think his ability to hold play up is VERY overated. Yes he's been isolated to a point today, but even when not i feel he gives away posession far too cheaply. He's been at the club long enough to have built up an understanding with the rest of the team, and barring the outrageous suggestion that it's the other players' fault for not reading the play :winkold: i think he's shown he can't do that job for Villa. I was one of the few that was willing to give him his chance when he arrived, but he's long since lost my support. Also, Halsey is an utter word removed. I can't remember a decent performance from him in a Villa match. Although, i've seen a lot worse!!

  8. Also... 100 pages of photography!! Good stuff people.
  9. Great concept! Might have to try that one myself. However the photoshop skills in these leave a lot to be desired IMHO. Five or ten more minutes feathering and blending would've made a big difference to the overall quality. The one you've posted is certainly one of the better ones. Good find though Kev. Cheers.
  10. It depends what camera you use really. You need to diffuse (or limit) the flash in most cases, which can be done in many ways... bouncing, using a stofen, turning it down manually etc. If you use a compact that has no flash control, a good way of taking that 'rabbit in the headlights' look out of flash based portraiture is to use a cigarette paper over the in-built flash. You need to experiment with the thickness/no. of times you fold it, but it can work quite well. As for Elements... i could never condone using a site such as piratebay (Students get pretty good discounts on Adobe stuff if your morals don't permit other options)
  11. Love the first two James. In fact there have been some great photos on here in the last few pages. Haven't been on here in a while, so was tempted to post a page full of comment, constructive criticism and pics, but i'll limit myself to avoid flooding the thread. Recently branched out into wedding photography, so would like to post a couple of reportage style shots from a recent wedding. Interested to know what you guys (and gals) think. Especially those of you that shoot weddings (Damien).
  12. ... also comes with extra pockets by the look of it!
