  1. Going to the game travelling up from Faro on the day, anyone else attending, planning to meet up for a few beers before & after the game?
  2. I'd take Peter Sutcliffe personally now
  3. We hate McLeish more than you, We hate McLeish more than you!...
  4. Carlsberg don't mismanage appointing football managers.....but if they did!
  5. As an employer Aston Villa owes its employees a duty of care not to place them under any foreseeable or avoidable stress, how on earth can they potentially satisfy that obligation with AM he would be ridiculed by the clubs own fans from Day 1, sorry from before Day 1!!!
  6. Unless a crowd of multiple thousands turn up at the planned protest it will be rather futile and enable the board to state that it was only a handful of fans who objected to appointing AM.
  7. WANTED SALES ASSISTANTS (To Collect Returned Season Tickets) Apply: The Ticket Office Manager, Villa Park, Aston, Birmingham B6 6HE
  8. We are hate McLeish, We all hate McLeish, We all hate McLeish, We all hate McLeish (cont'd) (To the tune of We All Hate Blues Scum)
  9. Mr Lerner, Appoint AM and the end is nigh! Will the last Villa fan to leave Villa Park following a humiliating opening day home defeat please turn the lights off.
  10. Time for Villa fans to unite, prove we are not fickle and protest to ensure that AM never darkens our door. Bad things happen when when good people become passive, it is time to be counted. To the Board "WE DO NOT WANT ALEX McLEISH AT OUR CLUB, NOT NOW, NOT NEVER"
  11. Dear General, In the event that the club are foolish enough to appoint Alex McLeish as our next manager, please accept this post as an Official Vote Of No Confidence In The Board.

  13. The statement by the General just reinforces the fact that the board are totally out of touch with the people that matter most at this great club, not the chairman, the CEO, the manager or the players but the loyal fans. If the board do not understand that the appointment of a manger from the dark side of Birmingham is nothing but sacrilegious then it is clear that we had a Proud History but now face a Not So Proud Future! It takes a lot more than free scarves, free flags and free coach trips to fully comprehend what the history of this club means to its fans and why we should never associate ourselves in any ways with the Neanderthals from across town. Perhaps this kind of thing is acceptable in the NFL, but this is England and this is Villa! UTV
  14. Q. Why is it that a club like Fulham, who apparently did not see Hughes resignation coming and as such didn't have a contingency plan in hand can overcome this setback and appoint a manager with Premiership and European experience in the matter of days, when we have known that there was a real chance that Houllier was probably not going to return to the club due to health reasons for over six weeks? A. Because one club has a chairman and board who are proactive and the other club doesn't!
  15. I my opinion I do not think that we will appoint a 'decent' manager before the transfer window closes, this is not necessarily because Randy Lerner is stalling to prevent transfer monies being spent, but genuinely because the desirable managers are either not currently available or require a certain amount of courting before potentially jumping ship to the Villa. Again I do not believe that there is a suitable manager who is currently out of work how meets with our unique requirements. Notwithstanding this however, whilst it would not be advisable for us to arbitarily buy players in this transfer window to appease the fans, surely trusting Kmac to sign a number of loan signings would be good business, ideally Huntalaar and Flamini who should meet with any new managers approval but if not can be returned to their clubs without any major financial outlay other than wages.
  16. Big clubs do not turn out 36,000 fans for their opening home game of the season, big clubs do not fail to sell out their full ticket allocation for thier first away game of the season. Big clubs naturally attract big name players and big name managers. I love the club and it pains me to say it but we simply are not classified as a big club any longer unfortunately we were not born in the late 1800's or early 1900's when we were the big boys of the football league. Our biggest problem is that our expectations are 'big club' expectations but with 'medium sized club' resources whcih stems from years of neglect and adequate investment from our previous chairman which takes more than 4 years to recover from. Over over expectation also contributes significantly to our fans being branded as 'fickle' and 'moaners' which to a certain degree obviously niggled at MON. Let us hope that we appoint a level headed progressive manager who can truely delivery on our next 5 year business plan...
  17. Klinsmann is our best hope, no management experience in Premier League but would be able to attract bigger name signings and a few German / overseas players to balance our heavily bias British only team.
