In total this season 14 goals and 12 assists . He effects nearly every game he plays in.

Fantastic stats and he's one of our go to players when we have the ball now.

We can take it as a given that Spurs will beat Sheff Utd. I think we can also say it is highly likely they beat Burnley. That then gets them to 66.

It then comes down to us needing to get more points from our four games against Chelsea (H) Brighton (A) Liverpool (H) Palace (A) than they do against Arsenal (H) Chelsea (A) Liverpool (A) Man City (H).

We both play Chelsea and Liverpool with the big advantage for us being we are at home for both whilst they are away so even if we are a little pessimistic and say we both take the same amount of points from those games it then comes down to us needing more points from Brighton and Palace away than they take from Arsenal and Man City at home.

What a fantastic position we have put ourselves in.

Agreed, fantastic position to be in with 4 to go.  Nice to have a week's rest before the next one too, get some bodies back in order.  At least the ECL game is at home before Brighton, we can go full on for both.

Rogers, Buendia, Ramsey, Diaby, Bailey. We’re gonna have some options next year.

    This! 😁

Rogers development is hugely pleasing and way faster than anyone had predicted.  There's a real player here!

Yeah the Champions League matches have a higher weighting.

Also the shit performance by the other muppets this year has absolutely tanked the premier league's overall coefficient from 21914 to 17386. That means if we were qualifying for the conference last year with this score we'd be in a way worse position, barely ranked above Beer Sheva.

Going into next season we have 19 of our own points and counting, so our coefficient would be a minimum of 36,386.

In comparison to our 19 points, Man City have earned 28, Arsenal 22, Liverpool 20, West Ham also 19, Brighton 16, Newcastle 8, Man U 7. So for 'new to Europe' clubs it's arguably better to qualify for the conference first and go deep as that's much better for your coefficient than getting smashed in the champs league, providing you can keep qualifying

Thanks, thats what I was thinking.  Beside the revenue of the CL the Europa would potentially allow us to do this too!

Comment on Spurs forum in relation to Udogie being out for the season:

A visit to McGinn from Christian Romero in his wripped jeans could be incoming!😉

The Champions League race is finely balanced. What a huge chance we have tomorrow. UTV!

That was weeks ago, hasn't he been playing since then?  Get over it lol.

Shame he's injured but it will definitely weaken Spurs

This season the top ranked team historically gets around £32mill, next season that would be reduced to  around £9mill. While performance related prize money is estimated to go from £513mill this season to £812mill next season.

Just qualify group stages for CL next season will get us £15.9mill, and if we get knocked in the group stage we get an additional £0.9mill, meaning we are guaranteed £17.8mill, even if we lose every group match. As a side note, winning the FA Cup gives you £2mill.

If we are really good and win all 8 group matches we will get £25.5mill + the £15.9mill. In other words we can still get some serious money from being in CL, even if we are ranked low.

Ok, not so bad if it's performance related that's fair enough.  We could definitely win a few games in the CL.

  7. If that is true it's a joke, keeping the money between the teams that already have the advantage.

How is the footballing competition meant to be upheld of this is the case.  Massive uphill battle to break into this long term.

Do matches in the CL rack up a higher coefficient than EL or is it purely based on wins etc?

It’s 10 years. The 36 teams in the groups stage will be ranked based on the coefficient over the last 10 years. Next year the top ranked team get 36 shares of the historical ranked bonus, second team get 35 shares, and so on, and the last ranked team get 1 share. A share for next season is estimated to be worth around £250,000. Aston Villa is currently ranked as the 81st club by UEFA, so don’t expect much of this bonus. To get a decent return we need to win a lot of group matches and progress deep into the knockout stage.

Hang on, does this mean that the CL isn't worth the same amount of money for a team like Villa as we won't get an equal piece of the pie.  Might mean the CL isn't the golden ticket it used to be?!

What's that got to do with him being shit tonight?

Nothing, but the general consensus is that he's a failure and people want to sell.  He's been on form recently, everyone has a bad game.

End of day everything is in our hands. If we dont get 4th or win Conference its our fault. Not Dortmund,Legia Warsaw, Qarabag or Arsenal

Time to take personal responsibility as Unai would say

It's just about increasing our chance of getting into the CL.  Would have given us room to slip up and still get in.

And they didn’t have to sell one of their best players which we might have to do (rumours i know) inorder to balance the books if we don’t make CL

I don't think we have to either, I'd be surprised if we have budgeted that way.  Goes against everything else we have seen.

Listen to this from Ollie,  attitude has changed, there's a confidence that I have never seen in him before. He's going to break some records for us that's for sure.

Stand out player, stand out attitude!

could Ezri and Ty be reunited, with Pau as DM.

Hmm unsure he is certainly good enough with the ball but I worry about mobility.  Would work in certain European games though.
