Dublins hattrick against Southampton on just his second appearance for us…
Living in the New Forest, the locals weren’t too happy with him at all… but it certainly put a smile on mine and my families faces!

Proving why Unai was so happy to let Ings go…
He saw something in Ollie and went “That’s my guy”

Hope it hurts

Because that’s held Argentina back of course. It’s a bollocks argument.I agree…
Makes you wonder if he is bitter and twisted that he never got the opportunity to play here

Absutely nothing to do with their one world class player in the last decade picking money over football
To be fair, I blame Man City…
Their owners, their players…
but most of all, the blame lies at the feet of their fans…
They deserve every atrocity known to man…

Saw something on social media the other day; Cafu pretty much blaming the Premier League for Brazil not winning anything for the best part of 20 years and insinuating that if Brazilian players had stayed on the continent in Spain (or in his case, Italy), they would have won more by now

How much more of a word removed do you have to be than to play for Man City AND the Blues?

World class. No coincidence we’ve been hit and miss since he got injured.
Easily our signing of the summer

Who know's where we'd be right now but if there are Villans out there who hate him for the move it boggles the mind with the hindsight of Emery's reign, nevermind his personal success.
You're right, he left at the perfect time and uniquely we've both benefitted — I'd trade Grealish for Pau, Tielemans, Kamara, Bailey and Emery in a heartbeat. 100m for an academy player goes a long, long way.
A man can dream though, if there was any hope of bringing him back in the summer I say go for it. F*** it.I don’t give a sugar coated word removed about his personal success when it is for the benefit of Man City…
If he had gone abroad and done it for Inter, Bayern, Real etc, I would have cheered him on and supported him…
but **** Man City, their owners, their players, their employees and their fans…

Still completely missing the point
It’s not though is it…
because Fergie literally proved that he can work miracles on zero budget…
Guardiola has never done it… he’s been handed mega money everywhere he has gone

And we’ll never know if Alex Ferguson could take a non league team up to the championship, or if Zinedine Zidane could save Sheffield Utd from relegation.
But we do know that Ferguson could win continental competitions with Aberdeen and be the last person to break the Old Firm…

Fair enough. Daft comparison. Bayer have never won the league before though so it will be a shock if they pull it off.
There is an inside joke in Germany that they are the “almost” team…
Always the bridesmaid, never the bride - that kind of thing…
Leicester weren’t even the cleaner at the registry office the year they won it

I like him but it’s bit of a concern when a team can sell their best player and then be in contention to do a Leicester.
Are you comparing Leverkusen potentially winning the Bundesliga to when Leicester won the Premier League?
Thats a bit of a stretch… Leverkusen have been one of Germanys biggest teams for years (despite the fact that Bayern had a monopoly on it with Dortmund being the only side seemingly capable of challenging them)… Leverkusen had had regular European football for years…
Leicester had only just avoided relegation by the skin of their teeth and then went on to win the fairytale of fairytales

Why is he further up the pecking order than Chambers?!
How did this bloke end up on the books at Barcelona?
I trust Unai to the ends of the earth with his decisions regarding our club…
but some of them I don’t understand…
and the continued inclusion of Lenglet is one of them…

The melt down on here about Unai by some posters is truly remarkable.
UE is the best manager this club has had in donkey's years.
But, as with any manager, does he get everything right? no of course not. We have come so far in such a short time with a smallish squad. It's quite remarkable to be where we are.
He's been here in just over a year and we've had a fantastic year of watching good football, great results etc and now we find ourselves in the top 6. We could only have dreamt that at the start of the season.
Arguably with the players, squad, injuries etc we are, and have been, punching above our weight to get where we are.
I can only assume that some of the comments on here are borne from frustration, a lack of football knowledge or just trolling for effect.
What UE has achieved in the time he's been here is nothing short of fantastic.
In my opinion, this level of form is just a short term blip. We were not bad today, far from it. If we'd have come away with a draw people on here would have been playing a different tune. Our decision making in the final third was poor today, It's the fine margins.
We are still in a terrific position and between now and the end of the season we will win a lot more matches than we lose.
UE was appointed on the 24th Oct 2023......he needs far more time, more transfer windows to change personnel. Yes it's frustrating of course it is, but stick with him, back him and we'll be fine.
Keep the faith.....UTV
The kicker with this is that even if he wanted to get everything right, he has limited means to do so…
Hes doing so, so well with what was left to him from previous managers… we’ve had some nasty injuries to key players and we have punched well above our weight…
Hes had 3 transfer windows now and it’s clear that he doesn’t want to spend money for the sake of it to make up numbers… He has actively wanted to sign players who will be a valuable asset to the team… and id say, considering who he has brought in, that he has done that very very well…
The days of Sylla, Beye and Holman are long gone…

I like Cash. I think the problem is we are growing as a team and he isn’t on the levels we are aspiring too. He’s fine for the time being though.
Exactly…
when he was signed, we needed a player of his calibre - and he fit the bill magnificently at the time - but we have rolled on much further than his ability will allow him to keep up with…
The management structure and quality of players around him have improved significantly since he signed and, as shitty as it sounds to say about someone who has been brilliant for us - there are better options out there for us who we are now more than capable of convincing to play for us

-
He’s become a squad player in the making…
Unai will want him replaced by someone significantly better…
At least with Moreno and Digne there is competition for the LB spot…
I get the feeling whoever Unai has lined up for RB will be light years ahead of Matty… and as much as it sucks for Cash and I feel for him and wish him the best…
What the club (and Emery) wants comes first- 1

I don’t think he showed us disrespect at all.
As for the wife analogy, surely a more fitting and accurate analogy. Is you look to move to an employer who pays more and wins more awards. Not to mention moving to an employer whose blatant breaking of anti-competition rules almost put “your club” out of business…
and on top of that, cheating to help them succeed against “your club”
all whilst crying to the media and putting out this false front that you have “your clubs” best interests at heart…
I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again…
id rather see that word removed on fire in a Man City team bus with all of his pals than represent our club again

I was born in 1984… and in my lifetime (and my opinion) we haven’t had a better goalkeeper…
Emis performances for us eclipse:
Spink
Bosnich
Schmeichal (I know he was the best in the world at the time, but Emi has done better for us!)
Freidel
those are probably the whose who of best goalkeepers we have had in that time… and Emi has flown past them regarding performance levels
