  1. Well in business you normally assess the strength and weaknesses of your staff and identify who has the skills and who doesn’t. You then bring in those who can deliver the outcomes the business requires. Funny how fans are quick to want players gone who aren’t up to their perceived standards, but those behind desks are met with different standards. The club needs to be good on and off the pitch, rather than being sentimental. This isn’t the local Council, it’s professional sport.
  2. He has kpi’s with the owner’s. He’s going to bring in people he knows can deliver in those kpi’s not wait 1-2-3 years of current employees who may or may not have the experience to deliver those outcomes.
  3. I’m not making any assumptions, I’m weighing up the allegations of an anonymous person against a professional doing a difficult job. I’m sure there’s some half truths to some of the allegations, but don’t believe the context is being properly revealed. We as supporters all want the club to be successful but we also have to accept that some unpalatable things have to occur to deliver that success.
  4. I guess the question when your managing at that level do you keep the people who cannot deliver on the kpi’s or do you bring in people who can?
  5. A lot of assumptions are being made on alleged accusations from an anonymous person. There’s two sides to this story and I find it amazing that if the allegations were true and the damage it would make to the Villa brand that the owners would have not already stepped in. We’re being asked to believe that the owners have made there first poor decision in recruitment, did no due diligence with a man with a well credentialed reputation and CV, weighted against an anonymous persons allegations and which the local media haven’t picked any of it up? This is a professional sport organisation being dragged into the 21st century not the local council job where you can skate by for 40 years. Organisations have to evolve unfortunately some people can’t evolve with the organisation and would rather throw stones than accept their own limitations.
  6. I’m happy to be proved wrong, just sounds like excuses to me as you can go to govt and complain laws are being broken, you could go to the media, hire a lawyer, etc, but they choose to dump it anonymously on social media? Loses sincerity with me the way it was done.
  7. I doubt Heck has had the time to touch HR or any policies at the club. The policies prior to Heck’s appointment most likely are still in place, funny how there is suddenly a problem with them when change is occurring. To say the owners aren’t aware of the day to day within the club is misleading.
  8. I’m trying to play catch up on this topic, however I find it difficult to believe that the owners didn’t do their due diligence on Heck without a long interview process, checking previous employers etc. People don’t change overnight, if what is suggested is true then it would have come up in the process of the background checks. I have no doubt that Heck has come in with the direction from the owners to make change. The problem with change is some don’t like it and believe their little world shouldn’t be touched. Heck would have a totally different management style to the previous CEO who, probably appointed most of the current staff. On reading what was posted, it came across as somewhat petty and the views of someone who didn’t like the change. I also don’t like that it is anonymous, if you were fair dinkum you would raise it internally. The use of the language again just sounds somewhat made up, as it is an American phrase, but agin I just don’t see how this isn’t identified in the interview process by the owners. I may be completely wrong, but it comes across with someone not liking the changes being made by the club, and I can’t believe that the owners would not have taken the proper due diligence in Heck’s appointment.
  9. You forget how much time he had off, he would have lost a significant amount of aerobic fitness, it takes time to come back.

Normally I would agree, but when you see similar effort twice within a week, there is something more concerning going on.

Maybe, but the first leg was a cup weekend, second leg was between two important PL fixtures. The importance may of changed when there was a replay. I can’t get my head around the drop off in performance from 4 days ago and that was after watching the game in full again tonight.

You may be right, I’m going to watch the horror show again tonight, maybe I’ll see it differently.
  13. Possibly Villa, West Spam, Brighton as they are wanting to be regulars in Europe and will have to comply anyway with UEFA rules.

I can’t make my mind up whether we were happy to drop the game and focus on the PL or we were just awful and Chelsea were good.
  15. I do mate. I used to work for an A league club many years ago, doesn’t mean I know much about football, but still have contacts in the game and I know he was being scouted by several European clubs including Villa. He’s potentially better than Ryan and some believe he can be better.
  16. Becuase I know of his potential as a player and I’ve supported Villa since 1976 an Aussie GK playing in the PL will mean more news about Villa in Australia. He earned his move and it’s with the club I support. If he was ordinary I would be questioning why we signed him.
  17. There’s a difference between being a great servant for the club and being a club Great as a player. McGrath is a legend, Cowans a Great and McGinn potentially being a club legend. Language has different meanings depending on how it is used.
  18. No nothing at all. I read enough to remember what previous coaches and players said about Jedinak and the leadership role he played while at the club. Maybe just do some more reading….

You may be right, but if the players were on it from the start, it may of brought the fans in.
  20. He came into the club when we were in a bad situation and he helped behind the scenes with the leadership group as well as on the pitch. He won games for us with his penalty taking and he was part of the reason why we got back in the PL. He then took up a role within the club after being released for several years. Your opinion has to be more than what you see on the field, it includes what you do off the field and on the training pitch.

The biggest thing that annoyed me with the game against Newcastle, is the players didnt seem up for it. After the first match at the start of the season, you would think they would want to correct things for themselves and the fans. Emery likes to use the fans for support, but we were let down in the last match.
  22. We were in the championship, he was at the end of his career, still a PL standard DM in his prime. He also helped reset the culture in the club which helped us get promoted. He gave Villa great service on and off the field. Being an Aussie has nothing to do with it.
  23. You can’t place a caveat on every player, Jedinak was signed as a DM and gave great service.
  24. Good young keeper and great to see an Aussie playing for the Villa again.
