  1. Don't really mind if you take it seriously or not, that's my opinion. City as they are now just don't wind me up all that much, certainly not enough for me to put them on this list. Man City of old were a decent club, with decent fans. They went through utter turmoil, and all while having the neighbours they had. Their proper fans stuck with them. I don't begrudge those fans anything.
  2. One of my best mates is a Leeds fan, so I've never really had too much hate towards them. Newcastle can thank themselves lucky not to be higher up the list.
  3. Sha Man Utd Newcastle Spurs Liverpool Stoke PSG Albion Wolves MK Dons That was a lot harder than I thought it would be. I'm getting a bit more mellow in my older age.
  4. In the real world I'm full on Guardian reading, tofu eating wokerati (although I'm really not), but I love the art of stand up, and I'm a sucker for a dark joke. I watched the Gervais special, and maybe laughed once. If you're going to joke about the subjects he's talking about, you got to say something that isn't hack. Essentially I felt his material was sub par twitter trolling level. I also watched the new Chappelle special, where he covered some similar subjects. In comparison, his jokes were fresh and deadly funny. That man just operates at a different level. I think that's the difference between a man who has devoted his life to stand up, vs a man who just decided he should also do stand up, alongside everything else he was doing in comedy.
  5. Not been active in this thread for a while, so sorry if I'm stating the obvious here, but this track has been on rotation at mine for the best part of a year.
  6. Glenn Maxwell today was one the the greatest ODI knocks I've ever seen. Was pretty damn special.
  7. No matter your age, if you're a Villa fan, you know and respect the name Charlie Aitken. True clubman, and part of the fixtures and fittings down VP. He was also a team-mate of Franz Beckenbauer and Pele during his time at New York Cosmos. Holte Ender in the Sky. RIP
  8. Nice to see South Africa taking a bit of the heat off England's loss to Afghanistan. Hup Holland hup!
  9. I know a few people who are members. A very good friend of mine is in the Masons, as was his dad (on a side note, they were amazing with my mate when his dad died. Did loads to help him). They tried to invite me, but I told them straight, it isn't my bag at all. They seemed to be quite eager to dispel myths about being a Mason. From what I know, they do a lot of charity work, and mostly meet up to eat and drink whisky, when they're not doing the fruity nipple, trouser leg stuff.
  10. That's down to the ECB pushing The Hundred. This summer especially, having it follow such a brilliant Ashes series, I felt totally underwhelmed by it. More so than usual.
  11. Yeah I think so. Even if Roy is fit, I think Root plays at 3 still. Assuming everyone is injury free, I think we'll go: Bairstow, Malan, Root, Stokes, Butler, Livingston, Ali, Woakes, S Curran, Rashid, Wood.
  12. Yeah I didn't look how many episodes there were, so was taken back by how fast things started moving. Definitely could have gone for more episodes and fleshed it out a little more.
  13. I just smashed through the last series of Top Boy. Enjoyed it a lot. Don't look at spoilers unless you've watched it all.
  14. Lead singer of one hit wonder/meme band Smash Mouth, gone at 56.
  15. Impossible to answer. This was on an old playlist I made, and I'd not listened to for ages, and I did declare that it would be in my top 5 favourite songs ever. That's about as much as you're gonna get of an answer at this point.
  16. In Ashes years gone by we'd have two visiting tours. They'd normally have a few warm up tests, as well as a 5 game ODI series, and a couple of T20s against the Aussies. Having the Hundred after an Ashes series, is like having a savers yogurt for desert after a fillet steak.
  17. If Australia chase down a score of 350+, in the 4th innings at the Oval, then fair play they deserve the win.
  18. They showed footage of him netting this morning, so I think he'll come out for a swing at some point.
  19. Living up north, we do have some banging fish and chips shops up here, especially on the coast. That said I do miss Brummie chippies, and the fact you can get fried chicken, elephants leg, and in particular scallops. The lack in the availability of scallops where I live is a constant source of woe. I've sat there craving them before now.
  20. Oh Duckett, man He was going so well, he deserved a ton.
  21. Pope gave his wicket away there. Stupid.
  22. Well that was bloody agonising! What a great advert for red ball cricket though. With T20 and the IPL especially dominating world cricket, it's great to remind people about how wonderful (despite the agonising loss) test cricket can be.
  23. Bit of a frustrating session that, despite getting Head <insert Kenneth Williams gif>. Ebbing and flowing like a good Test Match should though. Makings of a great series this.
