  1. him and Digne both been on 4 yellows for 8 games now. Very good discipline to keep avoiding the ban - saw the cost for City with Rodri and Grealish both picking up their ban together. Might have been same result even with them, but they certainly would've been more competitive in midfield were they there
  2. Magnificent, what more to say. What a time to finally get that clean sheet. McGinn MOTM for me, but 11 contenders.
  3. City still a v strong XI but nothing to fear on the bench. No Doku is boost. Just a matter of keeping Haaland, Foden, Silva and Alvarez quiet

    Ezri Konsa

It was incredible tackle but he was fortunate in a way, forward could have got a slightly stronger touch to get it out of his reach and it would be 100% pen Fair play to forward there as well who didn't try and make something more of it. Others would have flung arms up screaming
  5. It did seem a game where maybe the Thurs game caught up on us a bit, Bournemouth in general seemed to have more energy. We also missed Kamara for clearing up problems before they begin in midfield - both their goals, feel like they would've been situations where he might've snuffed the danger before they got in behind (yes I do recall he was at fault for a similar one then but usually he is the one who mops up). Defence in general didn't seem quite on same wavelength. I can see the rationale for Konsa RB and adding Carlos, we do have to use squad and some more physical presence is useful against team like this - but there isn't the same understanding there yet. Konsa did okay, but did get drawn inside and they had joy down his side. Ultimately did well to come from behind twice and get a point out of it in the end, with two nice goals. Could look back on it as an important point as this could easily have been another Forest when we went 1 down early. Ref was indeed poor. Just very very inconsistent. He gave probably couple of too soft yellows early on but then having set that standard didn't back it up and started letting same or worse things go. what makes VAR so painful is that even after 5 minutes to make that offside decision, they can't show anything unambiguous because it appears totally arbitrary which frame and angle they have ultimately decided to draw the lines to decide. Punished us double because obviously it took the goal away, but also the absurd amount of time taken to make that decision killed the momentum at that point in the game and allowed Bournemouth space to regroup. If we have to suffer this dreck system, it should be allowed 60 secs absolute max.
  6. Looks alright, good chance for Bailey and Zaniolo, and plenty of good options on the bench. Interested to see exactly how it shapes up on pitch with Bailey, Zaniolo, McGinn, Tielemans - a few possibilities there in terms of who takes Kamara and Diaby's roles. Suspect he might have it with Bailey and Zaniolo sticking wide with Tielemans/McGinn both central but taking turns who pushes up Bailey-McGinn-Luiz-Zaniolo Tielemans Watkins but there's various other possibilities (though not the bizarro lineup on the BBC page with Bailey-Tielemans in centre mid )
  7. put a good shift in, and particularly 2nd half helped up the intensity a bit, felt like he was keen to make most of his chance to start. Still clearly a bit raw and doesn't always seem on same wavelength as teammates, but that'll come
  8. Better 2nd half and deserved to win by more. Ref was v poor, should have been a lot more yellows for late challenges as Legia tired and started scything. Given how soft and ridiculous some of his earlier yellows were (e.g. Doug and Tielemans) some of the ones he let go with nothing were ridiculous. We can still rest key players in the last game. only v limited scenario where we don't finish top now.
  9. Not terrible, but feels like playing within ourselves and a few too many sloppy passes. Haven't been able to get Duran involved enough. Moreno got nicely behind a couple of times just not had the final ball. Would prob shortly go with Bailey for Diaby and Ramsey for McGinn
  10. That midfield should dominate at home. Very nice to see Moreno starting. Surprised no Bailey, but Emery seems to see him function best as sub#1. Hopefully can start strong and get the chance to rest likes of Luiz, McGinn, Diaby in the 2nd + hopefully give Ramsey a decent runout.
  11. He was but tbh i think it's just because with way spurs play there's a lot of quick turnovers either way.
  12. Fantastic result. Some big performances 2nd half, Martinez, Kamara, Luiz, Tielemans Hard place to come, Spurs play high intensity and a bit unconventional tactics, you see big spaces sometimes where you don't expect, they look for the killer ball quickly and got some crafty players like Kulusevski. we did seem to get bit more of a read of them as the game went on. Not sure we really exploited break opportunities enough, but did enough and was a nice goal to win it, smooth pass and move football. Their keeper should've got it tbh
  13. Absolute sucker punch of a time to score. Really got a chance now. Spurs should tire, they were already starting to make mistakes towards end and don't have great bench options, we got good players to bring in. Been poor on the ball generally and allowed it to be a game of quick turnovers and chaos which suits Spurs. Would expect to see Tielemans for Cash at min. Possibly Kamara or McGinn off too as can't afford a 2nd yellow.
  14. Spurs have gone very bold, they'll go at us from the start and try to overload out wide. But there definitely should be opportunities for us against an unfamiliar backline. Need Ollie to be on game when the chances come.
  15. How was that not a penalty? Dion with a rather bizarre new rule 'it's alright cos he took him down with his upper body not his legs'.
  16. Burn's limited + injured currently. Tyriek Mitchell seems to have been discarded, thought he was next in line in terms of actual left backs. We could really do with some more players coming through in that position. Shame Konsa not got a go, but hopefully gets on 2nd half Have to say I actually really like that front 6 on paper.
  17. It's nice to be looking at Liverpool/Arsenal/City and being within a win of them (as it stands) and it would be very nice indeed if we can get results at Spurs and Bournemouth to enable us to go into that nasty City/Arsenal double header still within touching distance of them - but the gap to teams from 6th and below who will be our rivals for 4th/5th is poss more important for our season in long run. Utd look in a false position to me. that negative GD really shows how they have been scraping wins - 7 wins which have all come against teams in bottom 10, and all by 1 goal. Maybe they will be able to build on this but form suggests quite likely that they drop off with a harder run of fixtures coming up. All the top half teams they've met so far this season, they've lost against. Expect Newcastle will stay in chase and prob their Bournemouth game a lot like our one at Forest, just a bad away day that happens sometimes. Think in all likelihood the season is going to be City/Arsenal/Pool battling for 1-3, us/Spurs/Newcastle battling for 4-6. Can't totally rule out Utd or perhaps Chelsea from joining that fight. But we have a nice number of points in the bank.
  18. Great performance overall. Dropped off a little in the second, Fulham have some decent players who caused problems, but never felt too much in danger. Had it gone 3-2, okay might have worried. McGinn was clearly MOTM, basically flawless today. Cash also deserves shoutout for defensive work. Tielemans did well and seems to be playing his way into the first team. Ramsey will have a fight to get in once he's fit. Happily no bans picked up for Spurs and we have to go into that confident given their injuries. Just need our away performances to step up now and we'll properly be in the fight for top 4.
  19. Really good half, good performances across the team. Midfield dominant, Konsa and Cash with some key defensive work, not quite fallen for Diaby/Watkins yet but they occupying defenders and the midfielders getting chances from that. Hopefully add a 3rd shortly after break and can cruise out.
  20. Interested to see how Tielemans does with the Luiz-Kamara axis behind. Usually when he starts he's been coming in for one of them in the cups, I think only AZ away where we had the 3 start together before and that was his best game. Other than the win, main hope today is that max one of Kamara and Luiz get booked - can't afford to go to Spurs missing both.
  21. Bit of a carnage weekend really with 5 of the top 7 dropping points. Does make it feel more of a missed opportunity from us, but equally, at least we haven't lost ground on everyone. Spurs could be in for tricky time now, Wolves away next is a nasty fixture when you're going to be missing 3/4 of your first choice defence, then they have a pretty tough run after the break (us, City, West Ham, Newcastle).
  22. There's a common thread with the 4 bad away results we've had this season (Newcastle, Liverpool, Warsaw and Forest) and that is conceding within first 5 mins or so. In fact I think in 2 or 3 of them we also conceded shortly after half time as well. Are we particularly slow starters or is this just coincidence? Maybe not a big enough sample to say and I don't have stats to know if we are notably bad for this, but we do seem to have a habit (going back a few years) of conceding quite a few early goals Anyway yesterday was definitely the type of game where first goal was key. Forest with a lead to protect were chasing down every ball and could generally play to their strengths. We were forced to go wide a lot and didn't have enough spark there to find a way in. Frustrating but not a disaster. Just need to make sure we bounce back in the next two home games and go into the intl break positive again.
  23. Not good but at least we've gone in only 1 down, game still there if we can find an equaliser. Positive thought would be they have expended quite a lot in pressing, may tire
  24. Hard one to call, Forest have put in some decent away performances against top teams though mostly ended up losing. At home they've mostly played teams down the bottom and they've drawn quite a few. This might be the kind of game that suits them more, where they can play like away team but with home support So I expect a competitive match. We'll probably dominate possession but Forest have danger on the break and getting the defensive line right will be key. Expect we'll go unchanged, with Bailey as the go to bench option again.
