I’m surrounded by Leeds fans at work and they all think Gnonto is clearly a class apart from the rest of their squad. He hardly started a game though towards the end of the season when they really needed something so they figure it must have been either the new manager didn’t trust him, or he’s maybe got a bad attitude. Whatever it was they couldn’t believe he couldn’t get a game.

For me the game really turned when Watkins came off but we seemed to keep the same shape with Ings as a direct replacement. I thought the defence started to look more indecisive with the ball and didn’t want to knock it forward early as they had been doing when Watkins was there to chase. I think we may have been better off bringing Sanson on and pushing Ramsey a bit further forward with Bailey up top to keep some pace there or alternatively changing the formation. Still, a win’s a win and it’s very difficult to argue with Emery at the moment. Kamara superb tonight as well.

My potshot theory is that Southgate is leaving England after the World Cup, regardless of how England get on and we’ve already agreed a deal with him. We’ve agreed with the FA/Southgate to keep it quiet so it doesn’t prove to be a distraction during the World Cup. Not saying whether he would be a good appointment or not; just a bit of baseless speculation.

Felice d’Amico - happy of friend??? Italian winger at Sampdoria who’s played for a lot of the underage Italy teams but not done anything in the Italian league yet. (One of my FM19 favourites though)

Given that this was our first game without Jack and the fact we were playing a good Leicester team I don’t think it was too bad a performance from the players. McGinn wasn’t great but he certainly wasn’t that bad either and we know Barkley is either out of form or just struggling for fitness, but I can still understand picking him in the hope of the occasional flash of magic(even if I do disagree). However bringing Trezeguet on, who offers zero attacking threat, when we’re chasing the game and need a goal is completely inexcusable. Why isn’t someone having a word with Deano? Or am I missing something?

I laughed and said exactly the same thing when the guy at work told me. He seemed to think it was one of the other Leeds players. Like I said it might just be rubbish but I did enjoy how gutted he looked when he told me about it this morning.

Don’t usually post but I live in Leeds and just heard from a guy at work that Phillips’ housemate has said that he’s packed his bags and he’s coming to villa. Information is third hand (probably fourth hand actually) so believe it if you want but he also mentioned a figure significantly greater than 40k/week. That’s all I’ve heard but even if it’s nonsense it’s positive nonsense at least.
