Bonucci to keep Fenerbahce alive. Saved!
Villa vs Olympiacos. On paper that is a better result. They are 4th in the greek league and have lost 7 times this season. Fenerbache are 2nd in the Turkish league and have lost once. I thought they would win comfortably over two games.

Unbelievably snidey write up in the Guardian. Like gameship hasn;t been in the game since it was invented. Look at Grobbelaar all those years ago. So will Martinez be out for the first leg now?
Anyway who cares, we can take everyone on. Lets be avin you.

Agreed, Fenerbahçe are the better team I think...
It's a stronger league. Greek sides are notoriously bad travellers but the away game could still be a bit spicy.
For some reason I have a feeling Bruges could beat Fiorentina. Those two sides had much easier quarter-final ties than us.

So who do we want next?
Olympiakos in the semi final, and if possible Bruges in the final.

Sorry I had to change my trousers. Well we got the job down just about.
Lille are a good side but I won't miss their endless moaning.
Villa, in a European cup semi final. Somebody pinch me.

All I have to say is come on the Villa, bring it on.

4th and European glory. That is all I am asking for, I am not picky.

Typical, you can never rely on anyone to give us a favour. Arenal have had a shocking week.

AVFC interviewer- ' So Chris you have some exciting news for our fans on season tickets''
Heck ' Yes they are going up by 20% with no match-day improvements. C**ksuckers.'

It is utterly feeble that Fulham, Brentford and now Bourenmouth can't even shift the normal away allocation. I think all 3 games have been 3pm kick-offs and not even televised.
Though at least it gives the chance for more tickets for home fans.
I presume the club is selling this at the usual ticket price and not the reduced £30 away allocation fee?

Liechtenstein and Uzbekistan are the only “doubly landlocked” countries , as in all of their neighbouring countries are also landlocked.

Seems like Arsene Wenger convinced a lot of people that winning the "4th place trophy" is more important than winning actual trophies.
It is sadly more important in terms of money but as Danny Blanchflower once said the game should be about the glory. And it would be glorious to see Villa lift a trophy on a hot Athens night in late May.

Going to be another hard game. Hope the boys have enough in the tank after Sunday, at least it is a short trip across the channel. Lille are very good at home but Emery is the master of European matches. I think it will be a nervy 1-1 and job done.

They’ve now got the second highest wage bill at £404m.
That is nuts for a mid-table side. Surely their biggest game now is Man City in the cup. If Palmer can someone score and they fluke a Cup final that might be enough to keep Poch in the job.

City win, as they will be the league champions again not Arsenal.
Plus I watched it live not on the tellybox like the Arsenal game.
None other then Big Ron thinks this was the best Villa performance at Villa Park since he started watching them in 1947, so that will do for me.

Lovely pic when did the St George Flag replace the Union Jack is the question.
96 I would guess during the Euros. Being an English football fan became fashionable again, and the negative connections of the flag became less so plus the rise of nationalism in Wales and Scotland.

Arteta small man syndrome. At least Klopp and Pep usually say the other team deserves to win when they lose. Word removed.

Well we have had worse results haven't we.
Superb performance. Put everyone in deep freeze and get ready for Thursday.
