  1. My Dad sung on a number one hit back in the seventies. Wont say which one though.
  2. General - just wanted to say thanks - wish there was a bigger word for it but it will have to do. I am so proud to be a Villa Fan - Thank you.
  3. General I too have just returned from the Youth game. On the upside a very well fought performance from the lads and the crowd turnout was fantastic. Congratulations on the free entry - saw a lot of young faces who will hopefully become regulars at VP in the future. On a disappointing note was the behaviour of the away team. I was disgusted with the hand gestures aimed at the Holte end at the end of the game. Not once but twice their reserve keeper felt it necessary to gesture to the home fans (the majority young kids!). Then a couple of their players ran up to the holte waving their shirts and generally egging on the crowd. Now I am not sure if they were aware that there were no police at the game tonight. A game that attracted a crowd of 11,000. Had these 11,000 reacted to this in the same disgusting manner this could have escalated to a much more serious problem. At the time I tried to complain to a nearby steward who just walked away from me. I will however be writing an official complaint to the FA. Sorry for the moan General - just wanted to make you aware. Again for the positive - great performance and a great reflection on the work that is going on at the Villa.
  4. Marlon - in previous years the ladies kit is normally available a couple of weeks or so after the mens kit. I don't think I have ever seen it advertised on the online shop!
  5. How about; Chim Chimeny Chim Chimey Big John Carew You'll shit your pants when he's running at you Chim Chimeny Chim Chimeny Big John Carew Score us a goal for the Claret and Blue On a previous chants thread I mentioned about song sheets and having them on the back of colour card for us to hold up at the start of the game like they used to do at Wembley and then have songs on the back. I think it was mentioned to the general but he didn't know if it was something that the club would do. Maybe we need to print something in a fanzine instead? Just thinking about costs though. My point was that there are a lot of new fans coming to Villa Park who don't know some of the old chants let alone the new ones. With all that the club are doing for us at the moment this I guess is something that we need to do to do our part so to speak. Just a thought.
  6. Absolutely. He's had to deal with a lot since joining the Villa - without complaint - someone with a true affection for the club and not a player who deserves to disappear without getting the send off he deserves ala Ian Taylor! Please General make this happen!
  7. Hi General - just a quick word as to whether there has been anymore thoughts on the song sheet idea to get the Holte back in full voice?! Can't wait for the 82 celebrations - was in Rotterdam but was only 3 at the time so didn't get to go to the game! Looking forward to being able to really celebrate it now. Thanks General - really don't realise how much something like this is appreciated by us Villa Fans. Thanks
  8. Thanks for the reply General about the training camp - will have to see if I can get some pictures posted on here for anyone interested! And in response to the point about the Website and the process of change.. nice to see that the priorities for once are the team/players and not if we can host cup semi finals etc!
  9. Hi General Sorry no suggestions just a question my Father has asked me to pose. My parents are over in Spain this week on holiday - apparently it is non stop rain and as the Villa are over there training he asked me to see if fans are allowed to pop down to the training camp or is it completely closed to the public. Thanks in advance
  10. Hi General Nice to see you all working late into the night! Great news on all coming out of Villa Park and just wanted to say thanks for the professional way in which the board are conducting themselves especially re: transfer dealings. It makes a change to be seen to be a professionally run club instead of the laughing stock we had become towards the end of last season. We also appreciate that the board and MON realise that we have been promised so much in the past and need comvincing that this time things are really going to change. I for one can only see things going in the right direction and can't thank you enough for everything you are trying to achieve for US the Villa faithful. It is nice to see you delivering on your promises and this bodes well for the future...and hopefully the remainder of the transfer window. Let's hope the previous stay away fans realise this too and get down to Villa Park to show their support for yourselves and the team. Fingers crossed for a couple more signatures before the end of Jan...??
