  1. Steve Bruce? Really. I remember Steve Bruce bouncing around on our pitch after John's late goal. I do not want him at this club; he is not worthy of my great club.
  2. Why are TNA trying to turn Mr. Anderson into the new Steve Austin? The Attitude Era is over Russo.
  3. Why? because every time he inherits a Houllier squad the team win the Champions League :winkold: I don't like Rafa and wouldn't really want him here but I can't stand Hughes and definitely don't want him. I think Rafa would take us further than Hughes would, don't see Hughes doing any better than mid table mediocrity (I know we would take that at the minute!) and I think with Rafa in charge we would have much more of a shot at the top 6 again. I don't really see that at all. Hughes has shown an ability to adapt, to make the most of limited funds when he's faced with that scenario and to invest bigger funds wisely (for the most part) when they are available. He had Blackburn punching above their weight (top 6 - higher than us at the time despite roughly the same budget pre Lerner, maybe even less) and was on course to deliver Citeh's best season for decades. His input is still a big part of why they are where they are now, and most of their players were disappointed to see him depart. He also got Wales as close to qualification as anyone in recent decades back in the early noughties, at the start of his managerial career. He doesn't strike me as someone who is happy to settle at all, for mid table mediocrity or anything else. The right platform and the right backing and support from the boardroom (to date he's probably only had one or the other at any one time, not both) could be the making of him. Agree with this. There is not much between Moyes and Hughes. They are both talented and experienced at Premiership level, and still have plenty of potential for future success in management.

Fair enough. I still feel Hughes has a lot to prove in management and is capable of being very successful in this league. I know Hughes may present himself arrogantly, but that is because he is a winner and strives for the best. Look at his playing career and his successes as a player; it vindicates my statement above. I believe Hughes could bring long awaited glory to this club.
  5. Why? It speaks for itself doesn't it? I know Rafa isn't very popular with Villa fans but he's a very successful manager while Hughes hasn't won a thing. I mean he's won the Champions League with Liverpool and La Liga and the UEFA Cup with Valencia. I was not disagreeing or agreeing with the statement, I just wanted to know why he believes Rafa is currently a better option than Hughes.
  6. Interesting comments from Benitez It seems like he wants the autonomy Randy gives to his managers.
  7. Mark Hughes is the only realistic option at the moment, and his stock is high given Fulham's recent form.
  8. We need to make a quick decision on GH.
  9. Agreed. I still believe Martin Jol is a good shout for manager.
  10. They should make another Punisher movie.
  11. There is no guarantee of Ireland succeeding under a new manager. But if he wants another opportunity at this club and he is willing to fight for it, he should be given the chance to revive his playing career.
  12. He still has a future if GH cannot continue as manager.

ooo, doing what? Focusing on the script writing for their news bulletins. And gaining experience with the production team. Apparently the news items take on a subjective angle and must be presented in a certain fashion. Contract notes: 1) You must disregard anything before 1992 2) Any Team based in London automatically receives precedence above any Team based outside London (exc. Manchester United, Liverpool and under special circumstances Newcastle United and Manchester City) 3) Any Player interviews/quotes that could illustrate playing for a Team outside London is more convenient than playing for a Team within London should be disregarded 4) Harry Redknapp is good, honest bloke 5) Gareth Bale is the best player in World football ... The work placement is based in London also.

Uni Email - There are placements going at Sky Sports News for a three month period. should I sell my soul and apply for Murdoch's evil empire?
  16. It did have a damaging effect on the club, so it was not the smartest logic deployed by GH. It was a calculated risk that didn't pay off - it very almost did though and I think that to say that it had a damaging effect is overly dramatic. I think that if we didn't have fresher players, Bolton would have pumped us, which ultimately would have had a far worse affect. Possible. I would still say that it had a damaging effect as it killed our momentum and infuriated the majority of supporters, ultimately putting a lot of pressure on GH.

  18. Sam Allardyce is to high up on this list for my liking.
  19. Fulham played some excellent football tonight.
  20. As I thought. I think Hughes/Moyes could both build a dynasty at this club. Moyes yes, Hughes no. Hughes is a nasty piece of work imo. Typical of him is the current quote on the bbc website "Game was too much for ref - Hughes". He might be an okay manager, but for me he acts like a spoilt, petulant little shit, and I wouldn't like to see him managing the club I support. If Huges comes in I'll be to him what markavfc40 and franvilla are to GH. Moyes would be my first choice, even Jol should be closely considered. As for Mark Hughes: I would like him as our manager, if it becomes a possibility of course. I believe his attitude towards the game is first class. Look at what he has achieved as a player; he is a pure winner and the medals he has accumulated during his career proves that to be a fact. Give him time and he will, in my opinion, build something special here.
