  1. We looked shattered after 30 minutes and were heavily reliant on using the offside trap to get us out of trouble. Second half was pathetic, no composure on the ball, players not picking up runners, which ultimately cost us. United were there for the taking tonight and we blew it, allowing them to grow into the game, especially after the break and it should never have happened. Emery will be seething and rightly so. I just hope it’s a blip but we looked tired, both mentally and physically. Certainly lacked options off the bench though.
  2. Merry Christmas to all on VT Have a great day everyone
  3. Could prove to be a very important goal come the end of the season.
  4. Pleased with Bailey and Diaby starting together. Unleash hell.
  5. Honestly think it’s more than enough to beat these. Early goal would settle everyone down.
  6. What bigger incentive can the players have than the thought of being top of the league for 24 hours at least, but hopefully on Christmas Day as well? Massive, massive game and possibly achieving over 40 points before the end of the year is ridiculous. So I think we have a real opportunity here to lay a marker to the rest and create a nice cushion of points going into the United game and new year. Injuries and a silly suspension are going to leave us light and set plays (against) could be significant, that’s why I’d go with Konsa, Carlos and Lenglet. We need to defend well. Martinez Konsa Carlos Lenglet Digne McGinn Luiz Bailey Ramsey Diaby Watkins Subs: Marschall, Olsen, Cash, Moreno, Chambers, Dendoncker, Zaniolo, O’Reilly, Duran If we can score early, I’m going with a controlled 3-0 win. UTV
  7. This won’t be easy but Brentford will be missing a lot of quality on Sunday, as definitely out for them will be (Toney, Mbeumo, Schade, Henry, Hickey, Ajer,) and possibly still out (Collins, Jensen and Dasilva). So I think we have a real opportunity here. Martinez Konsa Carlos Pau Moreno Kamara Tielemans Bailey McGinn Diaby Watkins Subs: Marschall, Cash, Lenglet, Chambers, Dendoncker, Ramsey, Zaniolo, O’Reilly, Duran I’m going with an away win but perhaps a tight 1-2 win. UTV or Martinez Cash Konsa Carlos Pau Moreno Kamara McGinn Tielemans Bailey Watkins
  8. Potter will be in with a shout I reckon if he doesn’t take the United job shortly.
  9. Queuing. Probably nothing more British than this but the fairest and politest thing to do in my opinion. There is just something very annoying when you witness a queue jumper.
  10. Refuel Cafe. That’s proppa that is mate! Well I’m truly rattled now and can only dream of such wonders at our vile club. NSWE and Emery out.
  11. I would honestly start the same eleven that started last night. How can we possibly change/rotate any of them if all fit after that performance? They’ll all be raring to go again I imagine. Hell, it’ll be like holding them back. I fully understand fatigue plays a big part in the modern game but it’s not like we’re asking another full 90 minutes out of all of them? We can make good changes throughout the game with Cash, Ramsey, Moreno, Diaby, Duran chomping at the bit. Very, very tough opponent for sure, but boy our confidence should be sky high and a roaring crowd under the lights helps of course.
  12. Let’s not forget where this journey started. The “Villa Engine” is purring right now. #forevergrateful
  13. 10 wins after 15 games this season is an unreal start. Bring on Arsenal, as nothing to fear here. What a team we’ve got and what a coach. Superb.
  14. Basically unplayable tonight. His best game in a Villa shirt by some distance. Top class.
