  1. What I would love to see on the next away kit would be the logo consisting of just the lion, the star, AVFC and PREPARED, without the "frame" around it. As a call back to the old kits of the early 70s.
  2. How wonderful it is to see Guzan these days. He's been patient all these years, waiting for his time to come. And now he's getting better and better. He seems so steady, hardly ever makes mistakes. And remembering all the times he has been put under pressure this and last season, that is quite an achievement. Looks more and more impressive when on the line, times his airial involvements perfect almost every time. It's only his 2nd full PL season, and we might have a keeper that will develop even further the next couple of years. I think we will have one of the best keepers in the Premier League for years to come.
  3. Wow, this I've never seen before. Taking players numbers and giving them to other players before they are even sold. Any have any examples of this happening before? I don't know why the bombsquad even has numbers, if it's some kind of statement from PL or what. If they don't get sold, they don't need a number even if they are registered for PL play? Bacuna taking nr. 7 is also interesting, might be Lambert has big plans for this lad.
  4. So they're not recording Albrighton, Helenius or Bennett as injures and have thrown in N'Zogbia who you omitted. The "no return date" info is standard for every player on the site at present as I guess clubs are not giving estimates in pre-season. No return date??? They are dead????
  5. I have no idea how I became a Villa fan, living in Norway Premier League is for many people more popular than the Norwegian league, it had to be a team. According to my then stepdad he sort of chose it for me, not wanting to force me into his own team, Leeds United. I think it must have been around 90-92 this happened, and his reasing was Villa being a likeable club, where I would have the ups and downs a true football supporter should have in his life. If I would have ever come home saying I was supporting ManU, Liverpool or any of the usual suspects, I'm pretty sure that would have been taken care of quickly. Living far from the nearest big Norwegian team, I took no perticular interest in the Norwegian league as a kid, and Villa became more and more a "obsession" for me. Today, living in Bergen, where I truly have no feelings towards the local team, Villa is the only team I follow, and after two Villa tattoos and spending hours every day on the topic, I would call me a die hard fan. Even if I have been to Villa Park only twice. Here in Bergen we are a small gang of supporters, of 5-6 core people who gather as often as we can at the citys football pub to follow the team. And then get drunk after, sometimes during, and on occasions before the game.
  6. Whether or not Herd can play CB is still up for debate.
  7. Spanish newspaper Marca claims Bale has agreed terms with Real Madrid, according to norwegian TV-station http://nrk.no. As there has been no fee agreed or anything like that, that hardly seems legal? Havent even seen it in shady English newspapers, so dunno what to think about this.
  8. Luke Murphy is not coming our way, despite speculation earlier this year. Has signed for Leeds for a moderate £1m. Weren't we linked for him at around 5-6m? Well, well. http://tinylink.net/52534
  9. I think the right thing to do at this point is to celebrate Petrovs remission with scoring a goal every 19th minute of the match.
  10. Carew as a coach? That must be the silliest thing I've ever heard Wouldnt mind Laursen at some point, though. But there is no way for me to know who will make a good coach, and who are better off as a couch.
  11. I love it! The blue might be tad bit light for my liking, but I love the design. And for the sponsor, I think it looks neat. Clean writing, no silly logos or colours, just plain and simple. Also quite happy with the away shirt
  12. The new sponsor logo looks very good, IMO. Clean and without squibbly chinese symbols wich makes no sense to me, no offense.
  13. Good news. From what Andi has been saying in the press after the season was over, I had no doubts he would sign a new contract. Hope he can keep on improving and show his great work ethics for years to come!
  14. The official Villa twitter account has changed their logo to a black and white badge, guess that would indicate the away kit would have that sort of badge?
  15. On the other hand you could argue that Lambert sees a whole lot of talent in the kid, picking him ahead of Bent time and time again. And from the little I've seen there seems to be something there. Seems to have a fair bit of pace in him.
  16. We're linked with a few strikers for the moment. Is it just the papers speculating in Bent leaving in January? At the club everyone seems to pretend everything is just a ok, but thats just as expected. What are the chances Bent is going in Jan, any thoughts? Myself would be very sad to see him leave. Right now Benteke is playing really good, but Bent is still the proven Prem striker, and it is just silly to sell such players, unless we get silly money. Lambert seems to be caring very little of Bent being the big fish in the club, benching him for two matches in a row. Anyone know if this is the sort of thing he has a history of doing, and are falling outs then usually following?
  17. Dunne fit for fight and in his best form partnering with Vlaar would be a very good pair of centre backs. He would also add a fair bit of the experience so many are crying out for. On the other hand, the Dunne I saw at the Euros this summer, should not be near the Villa team. Overweight, and he must've gotten some problems with the mafia, 'cause his shoes seemed to made of concrete. And adding to that, he has no match training. I'm afraid we'll never see Dunne back in his best form again. Hope I'm wrong of course, at his best, I am in awe of him, as he is awesome.
  18. 250,000 - where on earth did you get that figure from?! You're about 69k short there as of the 2010 census. In some ways the break might be good...gives us more time to gel, work on what we are trying to do and an extra week to get the guys properly fit. In my opinion the West Ham game came too early! Okay, sorry about that The fact is still that Norway has a population of roughly x more than Iceland, where x is the population of Norway.
  19. When Norway lose 2-0 to Iceland, a contry with 250.000 poeple, the international break can go f*** itself. The most annoying thing about this international break is the fact that we where starting to play pretty neat football against Newcastle, and I would rather we'd be getting on with the matches right away, with the confidence on top. Can't wait for next matct!

    Joe Bennett

If we can't lure a young player from Boro to the club, it's sure a statement on how people see the state of the club. Now, I hope a move to Villa would be a step in the right direction for this kid, but the fact that he doesn't feel sure about that adds to the feeling I have we have many to prove wrong this season.
  21. This is absolutely terrible news! The only upside with having such a thin squad, is the youngsters gets matches and develops faster. And now the possibly most talented of the bunch is going to be set back for a year. Feel sorry for the boy.
  22. I can't imagine Dunne leaving this summer. It would leave our defense incredibly vulnerable to injuries, with Baker the only back up for CB. Imagine a back four with Licah, Clark, Baker and Lowton? Could easily be a disaster. And what if one of them gets injured as well? Now, everything suggests to me that Vlaar and Clark are the pair Lambert has in mind for CB, with Dunne and Baker as back ups. I can live with that for now, aspecially if we get in a new LB with defensive strengths. There are no doubt though, that injuries could send us straight to the Championship this season, so let's cross our fingers for fit players!
  23. Spurs will have to buy, bofore they sell Defoe. And I cant see them splashing the Modric money on anything different than a Modric replacement. Would've liked him at Villa, but don't think it will happen.
  24. In the 80s aHa, middle of 90s -> present day OSG I think that aHa actually might have been more popular in the rest of the world more than over here. aHa have had multiple breaks other bands and solo projects along the years but their farewell tour was a big deal. Any way in my world OSG is bigger, but anyone who makes it big outside our country is a huge star here and gets a lot of attention. Remember it is only five million of us. Satyricon are waaaaaaaayyyyyyyyy bigger than both of them Death metal is norways biggest export Satyricon actually gets great reviews in the mainstream media here as well, and Sigurd Vongraven (front man in Satyricon) actually seems to be just as nice as a person as OGS. Think you mean Black Metal dude . Satyircon hasn't been black metal for about 15 years And Wongraven is a bit of a douche
  25. Norwegian TV2 claims scouts from Aston Villa and Bayern Munchen was at Brann Stadion this weekend, to have a look at Norwegian talent Valon Berisha. He's a 19 year old midfielder/attacker, who has already had 4 caps for Norway. Other than that I don't know much about him really. http://tiny.cc/9ifzdw
