  1. No way he got hit twice with good shots, as far as I can remember Davis never once hit Hardy with a clean shot. Davis is way too cumbersome and Hardy was technically superior with his movement and strategy, there's no debate about it (unless you're overtly subjective/Irish).
  2. I'm with 'Joe' here as I thought Cain's groundwork was dominating, especially considering Congo is a bigger guy. Well done Hardy, he's got some skills. I enjoyed the Frankin v. W. Silva fight - very entertaining.
  3. Yea I did that too as I bought a Blu Ray player; it makes sense to rent Blu Ray discs rather than pay over the odds. My three months has also passed but I'll be keeping it going. My recent Love Film disc was 'The Warlords'. The film is a true story and set in the 1860s, during the Taiping Rebellion in the late Qing Dynasty in China. (Jet Li was awesome in this, no kung fu just acting) -
  4. One of Blockbusters most successful rentals: 'Enter the Dragon' - Buster Keaton's masterpiece: 'The General' -

    JB

JB’s But seriously I'd go with with Bond, he's too cool.
  6. The world player of the year is from the season before. Ronaldo scored in the final of the champions league and scored a rediculous number of goals for Man U last season. No problem with him winning it. Messi will get the next one though. But my point was that he was a cheating, arrogant so-and-so.
  7. Typical Manc arrogance. So just because Man Utd couldn't do then no-one can. Can't wait till Barça do it again this time next year in Madrid. Yep, I recon Barca have a pretty good shot at it. Manure won't win it if they have to play the mighty Barca again. And 'typical manc arrogance' sums it perfectly, I was sick of hearing from Manure fans how they were going to walk the game. Deluded the lot of them, and it was especially gratifying to watch Barcelona humiliate them for eighty minutes. Statistic I heard today was that Manure's best passers of the ball were Ferdinand and Vidic which tells us everything. Did anyone notice the endless fouling of Messi and how well he dealt with it which is much contrary to Ronaldo's response of diving at every opportunity. Messi has been my player of the season all year and I am still amazed how the powers that be sought fit to reward a cheating, arrogant prick like Ronaldo the title. He's certainly no role-model to youngsters especially.
  8. General, I have to echo the above sentiments and affirm that this would be the death of football for many football fans, myself included. If O'Neill's comments are legitimate then he is acting out of subjectivity only and therefore illogically. Many lesser teams have spent their entire history striving to play in the 'top flight' of football and we should not allow anyone the option to merely waltz on into our league. This is an ENGLISH league and not a British one. I personally have no allegiance to either Scottish club and one of the reasons I think this would be a very bad idea is their fixation upon religious bigotry which is something we do not want in England.
  9. General, I too echo the sentiments regarding Laursen, it will be such a shame if he has to retire. I and many others would dearly love to see him take up a staff role as a defensive coach as his experience of the game is invaluable. General make it happen, please!
  10. I feel exactly the same way, very depressing at the moment when you actually expect your team to get beat and drop points. Okay everyone has said we have had a great season but to look at Spurs who have had a terrible season yet they are not very far from us. I personally think our poor form of late and in general at home this season is non-excusable! General what are your thoughts?
  11. Yes. I genuinely like the guy despite of patrick's signature and petty point-scoring! But I'm slightly worried by his methods, signings in the summer have to be of a much higher standard in order for us to really push on. Tactically O'Neill leaves me perplexed at times, take the first half an hour against Everton when Villa were just hoofing the ball anywhere which left me completely baffled. But I hope he is the man to take us forward.
  12. 'Loada shite' as is most of the music that emanates around this genre; Stone Roses, Charlatans, Oasis and so forth!
  13. Barcodes. If I could vote twice Man. City would be a second choice.
  14. But, it looks like this is being shown Thursday on Setanta at 8pm. I don't actually see anything in their listings for 'The Ultimate Fighter'?
  15. Some good examples of 'real' Tai Chi Chuan (Taijiquan). It's easy to throw people around who are larger than you once you know Taiji. That's a heavy guy been thrown around with effortless ease - Taijiquan skills Ultimate Fist Style
  16. So using that flawed logic, do you like Madonna because she sells a lot of records? Since when does selling records prove the quality of the music? Jeez. Moody Blues are the far more inspirational band on that list. For me it was a difficult choice between Jethro and Queen but I went for the latter because they're so damn cheesy! Who said I did? I just wondered who bought all their records in England, or rather Britain, that's all. Their greatness is hardly relying only on that, but I won't go in to that discussion again. Been there before and people chose to ignore some facts that goes against there feelings about it. Just so you know then that's fine. 'Greatness' is a term used too flippantly in music, for me Queen aren't revolutionary like Chuck Berry, Howlin' Wolf, The Band, Dylan, The Beach Boys and many others I could name; fact is they don't come close!

  18. Looks ace. If 'The Pacific' is anywhere near as good as 'Band...' it will be very watchable. Any idea when this'll be shown in the UK?
  19. Vera's got all the attributes to be a great, like you say it's maybe a mental thing. Matt Brown is looking strong. I was upset at Boetsch as I have an allegiance with the JKD 'thang' he just didn't seem to be on his game at all. Rampage v. Evans could go either way; it's a classic bout of silky skills against raw power. With Evans being much lighter on his feet if he can work Rampage around the ring and fire in plenty of leg kicks he should win. He'll have to keep his distance to have any chance. I can't help but not like Rampage though so I'd like to see him win.
  20. This puts things into perspective as there are more important things than money and football. I am proud to hear this news General. I would also echo the sentiments of half-time prizes with all proceeds going to Acorns of course. They do this at Pittodrie (Aberdeen FC) where the winning raffle ticket can win the match ball and maybe the Man of the Match shirt for example.
  21. General, thanks for being with us! Re: CSKA, I understand the decision and it seems the young lads did okay. I just hope that next season when we are in the Champions League we are not in a similar situation in regard to squad quality and size. Keep up the good work and Up the Villa.
  22. You could say the same thing about football and music, if done correctly, too. I don't agree at all. Football and music have never, nor ever will give me the same feeling of great sex. Don't get me wrong I am very passionate about music and football but I'd have to disagree. Maybe I would have to be an ascetic to really know for sure but in this western life that is unlikely. It is complex and difficult to put into words, but the understanding of our entire existence is experienced through the intimacy of sex. You could argue that some might feel that way through music and football but I'd say they just don't know how to have proper sex!
  23. And it was Bowie who was key to that particular song, in my opinion. Everything about Brian May just sucks cheese so badly!
  24. I voted 'simply just shit'. Although I was hoping for a 'cheesy shit' option!
