  1. I'd love to know what Chelsea's plan is to escape punishment when the 3 year cycle catches up to them.
  2. Come on man. They spend what they want anyway. It's not for them. It's for everyone else.
  3. I highly doubt that. They want an enemy that they can point at to unite their people against. They'll fight through proxies to maintain the feud, but they don't want to actually fight because they know that would be the end for them.
  4. Didn’t the Saudis pretty much destroy Yemen to try and get at these Houthi rebels? If they’re threatening trade in the Red Sea then what are the Saudis and Egyptians doing about it? It’s their region and surely they’re the ones with the most to gain from keeping it open?
  5. If you're expecting them to rule that it's Genocide then you'll be disappointed. It's a very high bar. There's no doubt it's ethnic cleansing, but I don't think it's Genocide.
  6. It has nothing to do with their players, manager and whatever people on VT decide to call them. It has everything to do with the way we've been in this country since the 80s (and probably before that tbh). The world and the country has become all about money in pretty much every facet of life and unfortunately these countries have it. You only have to look at the 90s side by side pictures with today of these places to know they're dripping in wealth. We've prostituted ourselves to them on every level regardless of how revolting we find them. When it was the Chinese or the Americans we do the same. If you have the money we don't care as long as you're spending it with us. Then what you've got is a melting pot of competing interests, a proxy war between the various powers of the region (and the world tbh) being played out in a sporting scenario. The Qataris, Abu Dhabi's, Saudis, Americans, Chinese, all vying to **** each other other by buying a club, pumping a load of money into it and deny the others the prize. If you want it to change then you need to use your vote to eject the uber capitalists in this country whose only principle appears to be "how much are you willing to spend, and what's my cut?". Sorry to make it political, but frankly it is.
  7. Disappointing that they've gone to the sensible, safe pair of hands and they won't get relegated now. I like Mowbray. He seems a decent guy. That said...what a word removed.
  8. It’s disappointing that teams feel the need to play that way against us. When one teams intention is to kill the game as a spectacle, as was clearly their intention from the off when they picked 5 at the back. A formation they’d not been playing. I guess we’ve got to see it as a sign of how far we’ve come that teams like this feel they can’t match up against us and that’s their only way to get anything.
  9. Right, Sunderland. If you aren’t going to do anything today you could at least put in some tasty challenges on that word removed Gordon.
  10. surely peop[le cant get points for that...he's been on his last legs for ages
  11. They had a couple of noses ring into talkSPORT the other day saying that other than this the club is doing really well. He was listing the club shop, catering, facilities, the stands being fixed, signage etc. You could just see Simon Jordan’s face and eventually when the inbred shut up Jordan was like “so what. It’s a football club and they’re terrible on the pitch” Annihilated in one sentence.
  12. What kind of **** puts small white lettering on a light blue background?
  13. I really don't hate the new design but I think you're spot on that the colours need to change and some of the designs you've posted are way better than the one suggested. The design itself could be a real grower but as usual the cackhanded way we have gone about this is the thing that bothers everyone the most.
  14. That's not really proof that it is though. Personally I don't care if it is or isn't. I just know (because I've used them) that it's really easy to fake someones voice these days with a very small extract of audio you can do quite scary (and in this case admittedly funny) things. He's not wrong though, the players have been shite but there's a lot of blame to go around though. The board for sacking a manager doing a decent job, appointing Roonpig, despite him having nothing on his CV to suggest he was capable of doing the job. All so they can parade him round the directors box like some prize peacock. Rooney himself for being a shit manager and for doing the dirty on Eustace to take his job. The players for being shit and clearly downing tools because they didn't like what was going on. The fans for their lack of support from the off. Found it quite amusing he was having a pop at the goalkeepers weight when that's been te accusation levelled at his dad consistently in his career.
  15. I don't really know what Kai Rooney sounds like but I've seen enough AI jobbies to know that you should be instantly suspicious of stuff like this.
  16. Financial punishments won't work. Points deductions and relegations would be nice, but they'd be effective punishing the lower league clubs whose leagues are then distored by these pricks coming down to their level. My preference would be that whatever they do they need to strip them of the titles they've won while they've been breaking the rules. All of them. It's largely symbolic because you can't strip them of the memories of it, but I'd just like the official record to reflect that they won nothing at all.
  17. Dick van dyke Joe Biden Michael Caine Bob Dylan my outside bet…Britney Spears …in the correct thread this time
  18. Can’t help but think this window is massive for us. If we can identify and get what we need early enough then we’ve got a real opportunity to do something really special. The last time we were in this position running up to a January window we ended up with heskey.
  19. Dick van dyke Joe Biden Michael Caine Bob Dylan my outside bet…Britney Spears
  20. The swing states wouldn’t do this as It’d cause so much uproar that they’d be risking civil unrest. It’s a relatively safe thing to do in Maine but if they tried in Ohio or something it would undoubtedly lead to deaths. It would be much easier if the republicans could just pick someone who wasn’t openly a fascist.
  21. It’ll create a bit of noise for sure. I’m certain as things stand the Supreme Court are going to overturn both of these decisions. Both Colorado and Maine are pretty safe democrat states with very few electoral college votes…if California followed then things could take a very serious turn.
  22. The stuff about villa park not selling out is such a load of crap. You might be able to get a single ticket on general sale but I’ve not been able to get tickets for me and some friends for years. Who wants to be billy no mates in a single seat!? The wait for season tickets says it all. Heck is really winning no popularity contests. The fans want the north stand sorting. It’s an eye sore. It’s old. It’s got pretty terrible facilities but it’s got land around it that makes it very possible to sort without rerouting roads or purchasing properties.
  23. Just got around to the new Indiana jones. The good: it’s better than kingdom but not by much. It has some of the best de-aging I think I’ve ever seen in the opening. The opening was the best bit of the film. Mads mikkelson does a villain really well. The bad: what a batshit crazy final 30 minutes. Entertaining, but batshit. Too much CGI (again). Massive plot holes. Phoebe Waller-bridge being super annoying in pretty much every scene she’s in. Needs more Karen Allen to give the film more heart.
  24. I don’t entirely get what’s in this for the premier league clubs anyway. The premier league money already gives them (and us tbh) a disgusting advantage over our European competitors. They’re literally bankrupting themselves trying to keep up the pace with us and it’s only getting worse for them. Whats the sense in levelling the playing field when they’re practically on their knees? I mean this in a pure Darwinist/capitalist sense. It’s not my philosophy, but if the objective is to dominate our rivals then we’re already drowning them. What’s the sense to the likes of city and Liverpool chucking Barca a life jacket?
