  1. Lets try this one a little differently. Lets not write the lad off until he's kicked the ball once or twice! There are plenty of players in the league that noone had heard of until someone gave them a chance. Maybe this is our fine new find.
  2. We should have won! This game did show us where we are decent and where we need some fresh blood, though. I am not convinced by Bardsley.
  3. Barry (yawn), yup, consistently good player (not the world beater so many think he is) BUT lets spread the kudos around a little. Agbonlahor gets my vote this time. When our opponents think of Aston Villa right now they are not sitting around figuring out ways of shackling Gareth Barry.
  4. I hope there is an understudy for Berger amongst them.
  5. Farewell and good luck. I wish it had been better for you (and us).
  6. I think we may have some real talent in Osbourne and Gardner. Both have skill, tremendous workrates, and neither shy away from tackles, particularly Gardner. He's almost too nasty-which is good!
  7. Deserved win for us. We could have and should have had more goals and there was a bit of pressure at the end, but I think we earned the win. Lovely to see the stands full of people out for the team. Good stuff.
  8. Great post. 3 points for us against the Barcodes!
  9. I hope we meet Lyon in Europe and wipe the floor up with them! What a prat he has proven himself to be. Good riddance Milan.
  10. Good post. Although we did suffer at the hands of a better team in the end, we got a glimpse of what can and will be in the not too distant future. If we can give a team of United's depth and quality a game with what we currently have, a few additions will see us competing like we haven't been for some time. Osbourne and the other kids improve with every match. The return of Moore and some new players will change our fortunes before the season is over.
  11. 4 extra minutes-bah! I thought we did well today, excepting a player here and there. Hats of to the kids-they played beyond their years. I hope Baros isn't just putting himself in the shop window; he did well today and the optimist in me wants to believe he is playing for a place at Villa. Hats of to Samuel for dumping Twinkle Toes on his ass-that was beautiful.
  12. Awesome noise today. Well done Villa fans, well done Villa. We were lucky a couple of times; they were lucky once for sure (Ridgewell's header-thought it was in, I leapt towards the tele). Our guys game them a game today-love to see them leave empty handed. MOTM-Villa!
  13. Good review, quite fair. Excellent noise from the visiting Villa fans. It wasn't until the home side scored that I noticed any noise from their supporters. You could certainly hear the Villains, though!
  14. Amen! And who was loudest at Goodison today-the Villa fans! Well said, hombre.
  15. Is this a wind-up or do you really live beneath the worlds biggest, wettest, darkest cloud in a state of constant tension and unhappiness? After reading the article I thought "there is just no pleasing some people". I'm going to be optimistic despite you.
