  1. Ramsey, Morena and now Buendia, that's 3 big holes in the squad.
  2. So is the Academy really only for FFP purposes?
  3. Watkins has no confidence when it comes to penalties. Surely Luiz would be better.
  4. We really must move on from this selling mentality. We can now afford to keep players to see how good, or otherwise, they are. We don't need to sell off our better prospects to make ends meet.
  5. He was the standout player for Boro last season. You must have very high standards.
  6. Good idea. Sell the crown jewels of the academy.
  7. It will be a worry if Olsen plays in the cups as we would really like to have good cup runs.
  8. He seems to have been around a long time, but has improved remarkably last season and is carrying that into preseason. He deserves a chance, and going by Emery's remarks, he will get it next season. I would not be surprised if he leapfrogs Bailey, and he has already surpassed Traore in our squad. He is an exciting player, one who gets bums off seats, and I would not be surprised if he becomes a crowd favourite.
  9. You should have given us that choice. That would have been mine and also what I think will actually happen.
  10. Archer has not been playing with the first teamers around him. He comes on when the team has been weakened and is disorganised. Part of pre season is supposed to be about allowing the manager to make decisions on certain players. Emery knows what Watkins can do, surely it would be an idea to start Archer with the first teamers to get a definitive answer to Archer's abilities.
  11. We were so close it's a bit of a shame we did not go all out to get the, admittedly rather pointless trophy. Looked to me like we could have done it with being slightly more careful with our substitutes.
  12. Watkins was having such a stinker, it was surprising that he did not bring on Archer earlier.
  13. Wow. He really is rapid. And he is one of those guys where the ball seems to stick to his feet.
  14. He needs to start games with our better players around him to properly assess him. He is a striker. Other outfield positions, you can to some extent assess a player, but not a striker. He needs players around him who will provide chances for him. Then you can assess him better.
  15. I am not saying that a back up keeper should have all the attributes, but another important difference is that Martinez is a sweeper keeper, Olsen seems to stick pretty much to his line.
  16. Isn't it amazing to have such choices?
  17. To me, the problem is not just his ability, it is that the team do not play with the confidence that they have when Martinez is playing.
  18. It was only for emphasis. I am really quite placid.
  19. He was excellent. That shows what he can do. Needs to be doing it more often, and I think the new influx of top players might help him. I've always liked him; wanted us to buy him seasons ago. he always gives 100%; never stops running; I'd love to see him kick on now.
  20. He is bloody aggressive for someone his size. He is forever squaring up to guys a foot taller than him. He looks proper grumpy on the pitch. I like him.
  21. 4 good CB'S. For the first time in a long time. Why would we want to sell him? Times have changed; we have wealthy, ambitious owners; we don't need to move a player on to buy another. The owners will be more interested in having a SQUAD to take us to where they want us to be than counting the pennies ala Doug Ellis.
  22. I don't think so. He will be a really good 4th choice.
  23. I realise that keepers have to mature, but, knowing little about it, I am surprised that our young keepers are worse than Olsen, and are not capable of being backup.
