You likened us to a 100m sprinter with aspirations of a podium finish (top 3?). We are 2x games into our first season back in the PL - a massive step up as it is, let alone the 1st game having been against a top 4 team. What I think is unbelievable is for people (not you granted) to be suggesting at this stage that we turn it into the relegation thread. I think we have the makings of a great squad for the first time in a long time. Its a long season, let's just enjoy the ride and hope we're better than 3 others (which I think we will be)

Hi Folks, Not wanting to tempt fate but IF we make it through to the final, does anyone know when tickets will go on sale for the final at WP? I have seen some advertised already but at around £300-£400. I know its a Final but surely these would come down, perhaps when they go on general sale? Unfortuantely I hardly ever make it up to VP these days as I work most weekends but the Final is something else. Do you guys think ill stand a chance given that I dont buy em often enough? *Apologies if this is steering off topic slightly* UTV

I'd agree with some of the previous posts, hopefully MON goes with a 4-5-1 and pack Sidders and NRC in the middle. As someone said above, stop Gerrard and they arnet as creative as people give them credit for. I hate to say it but I am expecting a loss too. Tbh although I would love a suprise result that would kickstart our season, I will be happy with a good performance. If they lose but still play well, it might give the team some much needed confidence. Fingers crossed lads!

I think we might just see 2/3. Warnock for £7m would be a good bit of business. A decent LB to replace Shorey at the moment is a must. Upson would be a good player. Im not so sure £12m should be considered value for money because of his age but hey I think most of us are past being picky and he stinks of a plan B signing to me. Finally, I really do think we will see another midfielder. Hopefully VDV makes his mind up soon either way. Either get him or move on as he is likely plan A. an unlikely one but I live in hope. After all he has apparently suggested he prefers being a big fish in a small pond than a minnow at sea.... And if we don't get him, well I'd love to think MON has someone else ready as a plan B. Fingers crossed!!

Hi General, Firstly, can I please just thank you for the time you spend dealing with all of our "abuse" on these boards. I think your coming on here and offering us a chance to have our say really is great. Now to my question, unfortunately I don't get to go and see as many games as I would hope to but when I can't, I am always dissapointed to see that Villa are rarely shown on Sky Sports / now ESPN. Having seen that some of the other clubs have their own TV channels, I wonder if this is something that the Villa management have ever considered? I appreciate that this might not be as viable for us as perhaps the teams who do it at the moment, really the top four, however I thought I would ask the question as i've been hoping for it for some time. Failing the TV channel idea, how about showing games live online? Last season I paid for both Sky Sports and Setanta month on month just to watch Villa who generally were on once every two months at least. I am sure that there are a good number of fans like me who, given the choice, would prefer to see our hard earned cash go into Randy's bank account than those greedy sports channels.
