Is mCginn suspended many people are saying he has accumulated too many cards now and won't travel to brammel lane?

He's only on two yellows, needs 5 for a ban. Grealish is currently on 4 btw.

  2. For a striker who's clearly low on confidence, adjusting to a new league and not performing well it's funny that a lot of people seem to have decided that todays showing against by far the best defence in the league is the final straw when the whole team were poor.

I've just done a quick check on line-ups for club brugge last season and as far as I can tell he's never played a lone striker role for them, he was either left of a front 3 or one of a two man system. Not sure why he was signed to play a role which he seems to have no experience in.

McGinn? What's going on with super john ?

Wes I accept is never going to be a regular reliable player but super john ?

Hopefully that's his worst game for us out the way.

    Well done everyone

2nd half started sluggish and grew into it.

Wes ? Winning the odd ball and laying it off was it !, missed 2 easy chances. Not good.

Dont know where people are seeing he kept their defence tied up from ? They took a defender off as no need to keep him occupied. Please to god move 1 second faster then you will be in position to score.

Decent performance with CH shine and Jack's free kicks wins the game.

    We need a forward !!

McGinn was excellent I thought, not  sure what he didn't do bar score.

pretty much, same with Villa as well. He isnt the greatest midfielder ever but he has a footballing brain, bites into tackles and is good on the ball.

It seems unless your midfielder is popping up with 15 goals or 15 assists they are shit

Yep, honesty think anyone who's watched Whelan play regularly and thinks he's useless doesn't have a great understanding of football and only of as you the say goals and assists stats.

No world beater but a hugely intelligent and effective footballer in my opinion and can be technically proficient when he needs to be.

Very good performance tonight for Ireland, Eriksen was kept quiet most of night

Most underrated Irish midfielder in my lifetime, always effective. First to be thrown under the bus when results aren't going well. Doesn't seem to bother him though, just gets on with it.

  6. Shocking first half performance not helped by injuries, much better second half and probably on top overall in the 2nd half but wolves are as tough as old boots, our impotece up top was magnified by their resoluteness. Personally not that worried by today, bad day at the office.

Luiz, excellent passing but soft in defense, why he didn't drag Adama down and take a yellow I don't know.

McGinn, not good today, tried as usual but was too deep to be effective.

Wesley,, had one of his poorer games, that miss when trez cut it in to him was a particular lowlight.

Konsa, best player today in my opinion apart from getting skinned late on in the game under immense pressure. Will be a fine centre half in years to come.

Trez, tried his best and worried wolves going forward but very slow to come back and defend at times.

  7. Just hope we give a good account of ourselves and fight till the end, any point would be a bonus. Hard to legislate for Mane, Salah, Arnold, Robertson etc.

In saying that  they're playing man City next week so they might slightly have their eye off the ball. we need to make VP as uncomfortable for them as  possible

Giving him the freedom to occupy anywhere in the final third or attacking half allows him to be the focal point, distribute the ball effectively and frees up others.

That's it exactly, hit the nail on the head.

His innate ability to glide past defenders and bring others into play would be almost impossible to replace. He's a truly unique player, our jack.

One of the barbers where I get my haircut is an Arsenal fan

He was at Wembley watching us live in the FA cup final, he's been a fan and monitored Jack since.

He fancies him out-wide left in a creative role without the responsibility to come deep to pick up the ball.

Me, I think Jack's proving both good and versatile enough for just about any midfield role except a purely defensive one.

As for England, I'm in no way suggesting that Grealish isn't up to the standard to, but I don't think he will play ahead of Sancho or Sterling.

Maybe play him ahead of Mount? I don't know, I've never seen Mount play a second in my life, so no idea what he offers.

Certainly would have Grealish among the bench though.

Jack's a lot of things but a left winger isn't one of them , it's hard to put any position on him other than a free role attacking player. He's at his best when he can float around in the attacking third, predominantly from a central and left/right of central position.

He's a free spirit, an attacking midfielder in the the matt le tissier mould I think ,  very hard to shoe horn him into any specific position and most importantly he's a team player.

Also I'm quite sure you've watched Mount play at least once at Wembley last May ! (could understand how you didn't notice him though to be fair)

Edit: if only he could learn to shoot like le tissier....

  10. I saw people on twitter commending his passion in relation to the mings incident. I think that's a load of crap, the only thing he was passionate about was covering his arse for his mistake. I think he'd be better served keeping his mouth shut and listening to Mings.
