  1. He's got all the attributes to be a top class centre half but he simply doesn't have the defensive instinct. Makes the wrong decision too much and you get found out at this level. He'll be a colossus in the championship.

I’ve no problem with what Conor said. You could take it as “Jack needs to leave” or you can also take it as “Villa need to strengthen the squad to give Jack the quality he needs to perform to his potential”.

I don’t think anyone would disagree with the latter.

I’m not a massive fan of Conor Hourihane the footballer, but he’s a fighter and he’s given a lot to this club. Massive overreaction from fans to this comment.

    Exactly my thoughts.

Why do you think he is crap? Chelsea paid £30m for him not so long ago, did they think he was crap?

I think he can play football but he's obscenely off the pace, he was a vital cog in a Leicester title winning team 4 or 5 years ago which is why they bought him. That drinkwater seems to have gone. On evidence of watching him this season for us he either isn't bothered or or hasn't got the legs any more.

Was supposed to travel to this one from Ireland but not going to risk it in the current climate. Can I get a refund?

Same boat as you, I sent an email to the ticket office today but got no response. Will call them tomorrow. I've gotten refunds in the past before games.

Gran Canaria on Sunday -> Sunday

But via Birmingham on Friday then back to Poland from Stansted in 2 weeks.

Could see why you'd be wary considering thats a lot of terminals to be traveling through.

Oopsie-daisie with Dorries. She will have met literally hundreds of people whilst infected and asymptomatic.

UK response is about to get pressed I think.

In Poland, schools are closed, public events cancelled, libraries closed, pools closed and we only have 21 cases.

I think in my heart of hearts I know cancelling this holiday is the right move but it's still shit.

When and where is the holiday?

  7. Travelling from Dublin to Birmingham on Friday through to Sunday for the Chelsea game with the old man, while I'm not normally a worrier I'm a bit concerned about his wellbeing seeing as hes in his 70s bit worried about him picking something up. Should we give this one a miss?

No way is Taylor keeping a player like Sterling quiet. Doing Guilbert a massive disservice.

Fair point but how would you rate his passing and general ball skills at the moment?

It's his first season in English football.  Would be ridiculous to sack him off for next season, given he's showed a decent amount of promise IMO.

He's definitely worth keeping as a squad player based on his defensive displays and hopefully he'll improve on the ball skills in the future which would be great but at the moment his passing is very wasteful and makes a lot of unforced errors.

When someone mis-times a tackle does that mean its not a foul?

    No, it doesn't

But, whilst i agree a penatly would be harsh, to the letter of the law, and in the context of your comparison, it should be a penalty.

What is the letter of the law out of interest? I would have thought a keeper could have thrown a punch at an incoming ball.

Norwich are shit, they did a fair bit better than we did. that's the kind of thing that annoys me.

    Anyhooooo...

I was at my brother-in-laws with some of the family and was therefore forced to watch the whole game.  It was truly horrific, and makes me glad I stopped going to games a few years back.

At 4 or 5 nil you'd think some of our players might have felt a bit embarrassed enough to start leaving a foot in, but no. Just stood back and watched them have nothing more than a training exercise.

Why the referee didn't book Golden Hat Trick Boy for fouling then shoving Grealish, I'd be keen to know. Drinklager was absolute pants. Hourihane was David McCallum. All the defenders should be ashamed.

I'll be very surprised if we stay up. It might depend on if or when we acquire a goalscorer. Going by our previous signings I'm not feeling very hopeful.

The lack of fight is a worry in fairness but I think Bournemouth and Norwich will go down and I think we'll sneak up, hopefully Brighton or Burnley will fall apart

So, I have decided to take two days off work in order to see the Watford match in a few days, spent money on a plane from Oslo to London and train to Birmingham and booked a hotel Tuesday. To see a team that doesn't give a shit?

Think this was THE game that defined our season. Either it is downhill from here (with early relegation) or we get our act together and turn the season. Now I am afraid it is the former and not the latter that we have in front of us.

Fair play on making that trip!

I wouldn't think today was a season defining game tho. City and Liverpool are lightyears ahead of the rest of the league.

Terrible. But we all knew that. I hope the players and most importantly Smith & staff learn from this. As they should from playing against such quality.

Yeah to be fair we were playing the Harlem Globetrotters of the Premier who I think will put a few more scorlines like that up this season. They've got noting to lose so are playing with a freedom. But our defending was very weak.
